If you're a fan of vintage clothing, then British Retro is the place to be. Their selection of affordable vintage clothing is unbeatable, and the quality is top-notch. I recently purchased a vintage-inspired blouse from their website, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well-made it was.

I finally ordered a dress from British retro after months of browsing the website. It was shipped very quickly (the same day I think), arrived in good time and was well packaged. It was beautiful fabric and looked exactly like the pictures in terms of the style no issues with product quality, unfortunately the dress did not fit so I had to return it. The returns policy was very straightforward, I applied for a refund via my online account and once accepted they sent me the returns address and a form to pop inside the package via email. They do not offer free returns so expect to do this at your own cost. The returns policy is very strict, I recommend reading the returns policy before even unpacking the item. I was issued my refund promptly with no issues. Companies that deal with returns promptly and professionally always deserve repeat business so I'd happily buy from them again. Hopefully I can order the right size next time.

Customer service is terrible there's no way to call and they take so long replying to emails, when they said they will reply in 30 mins. Emailed them if I can get shipping details in order to track my order no reply… ended up missing my delivery as I didn’t know it was coming!

Great products higher quality fabrics than the cheapy brands in the same retro market and I hope they keep to this business model.

Quality - Dress was stunning, petticoat was more comfortable than cheaper alternatives (only buy white or black as you will have no wardrobe space left if you get sucked into colours) and the 1950s winter coats are beautifully detailed.

Sizing - The dress is true to size and so are the coats. (As they are most tailors at the waist for that 50s look if you want to wear a thick jumper underneath size up on the coats.)

Customer service is also great when it come to issues and questions.

I bought a 1950's dress from British Retro and it was one of the best purchases I've made in a while. The quality of the fabric is great and it fits me perfectly. It is also very comfortable to wear. The service from this company was superb as well: they were quick at replying to my messages, great at their preparation for shipping.

I live in Canada and my "From Kitty With Love" dress arrived this morning after just two weeks, which I consider fast shipping these days. It fits as if it was made for me. I ordered the size 10 and for reference, I'm 5'2", weigh 125 lbs and my measurements are 34 / 26 / 38. The stretch crepe fabric is a dream, the fur trim looks super posh and the skirt swirls around me as I walk. it's sexy and elegant in equal measure. I plan to wear it with a simple pearl neck lace, pointed black suede kitten heels and a bright red satin clutch. A classic addition to my holiday wardrobe!

Wow. What an incredible company. I ordered a beautiful Emerald dress for a ball I was going to and after a few weeks the dress hadn’t turned up. I emailed British Retro to ask if they could possibly track the dress. Belle got back to me straight away and said the dress had disappeared off the system. With only 3 days to the ball I was slightly panicked but there was no need to be. Belle offered to resend my whole order with next day delivery. My items all arrived safely the next day. I was able to go to the ball in the most amazing outfit all thanks to Belles kindness. Customer service is the best Iv ever come across. I will be ordering again in the near future and I would 100% recommend British Retro to everyone. Also the quality of the clothing is incredible! One happy lady! Thankyou

I love these clothes! I searched everywhere for something for a Hollywood Gala event that personified the era without being over glitzy. I bought the 'From Kitty with Love' dress and the lace petticoat, aiming for an Audrey Hepburn style/look, and OMG, it was! I felt a million dollars and had so many compliments! The ordering, payment process was easy and delivery was so quick.

I absolutely LOVE both the dresses I bought. I bought 2 different sizes as the reviews said “ this comes up big” for one of them and they both fitted perfectly. Well made, classy and different. I can’t wait to wear them now. Always a bit scary buying clothes from the internet. They can sometimes, sneakily, be from China and not what you thought you ordered. This was exactly like the photos, definitely not from China ( arrived after a few days) and beautifully made. Thrilled.

I absolutely love this website. The dress I ordered was absolutely lovely. It was well made and fit perfectly. Shipping from the UK to the US was also pretty fast. I highly recommend this company and am super excited to get my holiday dresses from them.

I keep coming back to British Retro time and time again, particularly for plaids. Nowhere else can I find plaid skirts with perfectly matched seams made out of such quality fabric for that price. Despite having to pay for international shipping, it is still good value. They make beautiful, classy clothing, and customer service has always been lovely. I will continue to watch the site for new styles and likely be tempted again!

I've bought two dresses, one skirt and a petticoat from British Retro and they're stunning. Every time I wear them out I get complimented about how nice they look. I think the quality is really good (though I did have to make a tiny repair on the petticoat) and I've not had any problems dealing with their customer service. I had to send one thing back that didn't fit my shape at all and I got a refund no problem. Looking forward to buying more stuff!
