They don't do proper MOT and there SERVERS are shit and it took them 3 days to send me back my money and until I told them I would get my lawer involved

Bought a car from Browns Car Company in July and it turned into nearly 6 months of stress, excuses, and wasted time.

The frustrating thing is that the faults were not even major mechanical failures, mainly the TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) and suspension issues. Yet Browns seemed completely incapable of fixing them properly despite having the car back countless times.

I was promised before purchase that all dashboard warnings would be cleared and the car would be fully serviced and MOT’d. That turned out to be untrue. Within days the faults appeared and from then on the car was constantly back with them.

Over the next 5 months:
• The car repeatedly came back with the same faults still present
• At one point it came back worse than before
• I had over 5 courtesy cars, several of which were not road legal (no MOT, no tax, faulty headlights, no heater, etc.)
• I made 40+ calls myself, my wife made 60+, plus endless emails and WhatsApps
• I also had numerous calls with companies Browns had outsourced the repairs to, because Browns kept fobbing me off, and even those companies commented on how difficult Browns were to deal with
• I formally rejected the car under consumer rights, but was ignored/fobbed off repeatedly

To make matters worse, my mother had just died before I bought the car, so this was already an extremely stressful period in my life. Browns showed absolutely no care whatsoever for me as a customer. Their customer service was atrocious from start to finish.

In the end, after nearly 6 months, I had to organise the repair myself and Browns simply supplied the parts and paid the bill.

I am sure Browns will reply to this review with excuses or their version of events, but honestly, how can anyone defend this level of service? Make your own mind up.

Also, trust your instincts. When you walk into the “showroom office” you get a feeling that something is not right. I ignored that feeling because I wanted the car. I should have trusted my instincts. If you get that feeling too, walk away.

DO NOT BUY FROM BROWNS unless you are prepared for endless hassle and stress. If you do buy from them, pay by credit card and never pay the full amount until every fault is genuinely fixed.

I would not recommend buying from this dealership based on my experience.

I agreed to purchase an Audi Q3 (LV70 UWL) and was told it had passed its MOT and had work completed. On collection, I was unexpectedly given a courtesy car due to further issues with the vehicle (alternator), which had not been disclosed beforehand.

From that point onwards, communication was very poor. I repeatedly had to chase for updates, and I was given conflicting information about the status of repairs and delivery times. At one stage, I was told parts were arriving imminently, only to later be told they had not even been dispatched.

I also raised concerns about the MOT status, which were not properly addressed.

Due to the lack of transparency and confidence in the vehicle, I requested a full refund. Although the refund was eventually processed, it was delayed beyond the initially stated timeframe, and communication around this was again inconsistent. I was given explanations including internal cash flow issues and external “global” factors, which did not provide reassurance.

Overall, the experience was stressful and time-consuming, and the level of customer service fell well below expectations.

Worst garage to buy a car from was sold a dud car from this company with a dodgy mot.how a car passed its mot with bent osf wishbone,x2 front bold tyres,no rear brakes…went to have the car services by an approved trading standards garage and all faults where pointed out.i should them the mot done 3 days ago and the said no way this car passed its mot with these major faults.called garage and was fobbed off for 3 weeks and then they wanted proof of works which the servicing garage supplied DIRECTLEY to them.they made excuses should have notified us before works,my question is why was a dish car sold on the first place ,did you not check the car before handover,car was also advertised with 74k on the clock and it had 76500 when collected.all 4 alloy wheels where scuffed and front bumper was scratched both ends.no mention of Theo’s on the advertising which I have pictures off.they made excuses is truly a dodgy garage who sell unroadworthy cars.i travelled 5 hours in the rain and collected the car very late and realised the issues few days latter when I had a good look at the car
