Absolutely great experience with…

18 Months Later and Still Chasing Answers

I have found my experience with Carpenters to be extremely frustrating and disappointing.

My claim is now around 18 months old, and throughout the process I have experienced repeated delays, poor communication and a lack of clarity regarding what information is required and what stage the claim has reached.

The most recent issue involved requests for payslips from before the accident. I explained on several occasions that I had only recently started the job and therefore did not have three months of pre-accident payslips available. Despite providing the documents that were requested from me, I found it very difficult to obtain a clear explanation of what would happen next or how my circumstances would be presented to the other side.

What I found most frustrating was the lack of flexibility and the apparent unwillingness to engage with the practical reality of the situation. Rather than feeling listened to, I felt as though the same points were being repeated without addressing the questions I was actually asking.

I have always remained polite and cooperative throughout the claim, but I have come away feeling that customer service and communication have been poor. After 18 months, I would have expected a far more efficient and transparent process.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend Carpenters.

Our claim handler was Tilly Suckling…

Our claim handler was Tilly Suckling from Carpenter Solicitors. The process took over 2yrs to be resolved, this was because we were hit by an uninsured driver. The police were utterly incompetent throughout, at one point they reported we were at fault, this despite us being stationary at the time of the collision. Tilly kept us informed throughout the process and procured the best outcome for us. My one concern would be that as older people we struggled a bit with the electronic communication and would have preferred paper format, this isn't a reflection on Tilly but to make companies aware that our generation are not as computer savvy as the younger generation. It may be something to consider. For this reason I have deducted one star. Otherwise all good.

Carpenters & in particular Simon Taylor have been amazing

Carpenters have been fabulous in assisting me with a claim following an RTA in February 2024, when I sustained injuries, which will mean I will never be the same again.

Simon Taylor in particular has been extraordinary, taking time to speak to me personally in layman’s terms & non-patronising. Simon ensured I understood everything along the way & got things moving swiftly, achieving a most satisfactory result.

Highly recommend Carpenters; in particular Simon Taylor.

I found Carpenters very helpful, Hannah Sheen took the time to explain every step and answered all my questions fully. I felt at ease with her dealing with my claim.

Best solicitors since ever

Ive had the absolute pleasure of Michelle and joanna as my solicitors in this long and tiring case and they have made it a breeze and truly helped in this ordeal I can not thank them enough I would 100% recommend the carpenters as a very useful and trust worth provide to fight your battles.

I have been with carpenter's for the duration of my claim & from the 1st day they have been amazing, They constantly keep me informed of the progress, They keep things clear and transparent at all times.. I am currently going through my offer stage & they send me breakdowns of the offer, there advice & simply leave me to decide. There is no pressure to accept or decline, its simply just explained & left in my hands..

They have truly exceeded my expectations & I would 100% recommend them to my friends & family.

My RTA was 2 1/2 years ago and I am still being ghosted. This is the worst service I’ve ever experienced from a company and I can’t believe after seeing so many other reviews that they are still up and running. unless I chase for an answer, I don’t hear from them at all. There are months and months between contact and it is always instigated by myself. I am convinced they are keeping all our money. My original case handler has apparently left the business yet nobody has told me or assigned me a new one. When I then get a bounceback email, it tells me to contact a lady called Kirsty but there’s no email. They are a joke. I would avoid at all costs. I wouldn’t even rate them 1 star. I am yet to hear from them to settle my claim.

I’m really happy with my experience with Carpenters ..Jennifer Wallace was the person dealing with myself an my claim .. She was great from start to finish .. Always kept me upto date with everything, emails , letters , PhoneCalls .. And finally after 18mnths I got a decent payout .. I’m more than happy with Carpenters Solicitors, now so Jennifer Wallace .. thank you for everything …

Terrible Service

Claim ref: SOU0234/14288

No updates at all. They don't respond to emails. And if you call them they put you on hold for 15 minutes then terminate the call.

I am unable to access 'MyClaim' website because the handler entered my mobile number incorrectly (missing a digit) which means I can't receive the security code. I have emailed them about it multiple times but of course no response.

Terrible service. I am stuck with no updates and with no way to reach them. How is this acceptable?

I was referred to the team by my insurance company

I was referred to the team by my insurance company following a serious injury. Paul Wright was very informative and supportive every step of the way. I am very grateful for his and the company’s support during my claim and I would highly recommend Paul.

I’ve just recently let carpenters…

I’ve just recently let carpenters handle my claim in particular I dealt with Zoe Platt who regularly updated me with any information regarding the process, overall I was happy with the outcome coming, would recommend.

THE WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE.

UNQUALIFIED PEOPLE HANDLING YOUR CASE WHO ARE CLEARLY UNSUPERVISED AND FAILED TO PROVIDE THE BASIC INFORMATION ON A CLAIM HANDLING EXPERIENCE. WHO ALSO HAVE REFUSED FO PROVIDE COPIES OF CALL RECORDINGS WHICH YOU CAN LISTEN BACK TO AND YOULL FIND NO EXPLANATION OF WHAT THEY WILL ACTUALLY DO AND FAILURE TO EXPLAIN THEIR FEES.

I HAVE NEVER SIGNED A FORM WITH THEM ONLY ATTENDED A MEDICAL REPORT WHICH I THOUGHT WAS THE NORMAL PROCESS.

THREATENING AND ABUSE OF LEGAL POWER, I WOULD HATE FOR ANY FIRST TIME CLAIMANT TO BE STUCK WITH THIS ABYSMAL FIRM.

This firm failed to explain the procedure to me after being referred by my insurance to handle a claim.

I did not sign up to their services, they booked me for a medical report in which I attended and then they failed to act on this further. They were writing to the incorrect address despite me advising on our calls I didn’t reside there temporary due to providing care to my dying grandma. She has passed now

They then terminated my case and provided me with a 1.5k abortive bill.

If you want to use a competent solicitors. Please look for another, my file handler changed multiple times in a short space of time and the process was failed to be explained.

I would like to give some recognitions

I would like to give some recognition to Chloe Bentham, without her, my claim would not have gone successfully.
From the moment Chloe took over, she checked in, emailed me with updates and ensured a smooth journey. Very easy to speak with and answered all my questions

I have tried to contact my case handler repeatedly over the last 3 months without success.
The switchboard try to connect me but after 15 minutes on hold each time the call disconnects. I have sent emails to the company mailbox at the address stated on the automated service, no one has replied. I have also left messages on the claims portal requesting a call back, no one responds.
Having worked in customer service for a large number of years i feel this level of service is completely unacceptable I am really disappointed that no one at Carpenters has the common decency to respond to my request for a call back.
I don't think it is unreasonable to request a call from yourselves when you are meant to be acting in my best interest. I would very much appreciate a call asap.

Update.. finally I managed to speak to another member of the team, who was able to provide an update. Such a shame I had to call so many times when the conversation lasted no more than 5 minutes .

Outstanding service from Cerys at Carpenters. We had been stuck in a stressful dispute for over two years, and she navigated it with incredible skill to finally help us reach a settlement. She was professional, proactive, and couldn't have been more helpful throughout the entire process. Highly recommended!
