Brilliant service from initial contact with Sherko and throughout process with excellent regular communication from James. Weekly updates were particularly helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Terrible experience, not sure how they are in business, stay away. The agents are too rude, no cleaning, no service provided, no response to any of your concerns, miss communication and lie left and right, force you to buy their own insurance, force you to pay more than agreed, don't even care about what they can and can not do as per UK laws, just terrible to deal with.

Sherko was very helpful during my property purchase. He found me a property fitting my criteria and was extremely responsive during the process and kept me up to date on progress.

We had to renew our tenancy agreement and although the tenant's representative was unresponsive to Amy Jones emails , She kept chasing consistently and got sorted everything at the end. Good communication throughout and very professional service.

We had a terrible experience buying a house through Chancellors. We wrote to management and complained but the response was dismissive which suggests it's not just a local branch issue. We will never buy through them - or sell - with them.

I got the necessary support useful for me to make informed decision during my search for a property. Sherko was fantastic in his approaches and responses to my requests at all times.

Never have i known a company so soulless

For a short list of what happened to us during our one year stay in their property:

-They lost our maintenance key, said they never had one then proceeded to say we had to buy another and later admitted over the phone they had no clue where it went

-laid off the landlord when we went August (30+ in temperature) without a fridge and were told, 'we cant do anything he's on holiday' as if thats a good excuse? Hundreds of pounds worth of fresh and frozen food gone

-no prior checks to the property, there was: mould,used razors,leftover dirty kitchen utensils, bedroom wall with holes in, broken/smashed windows and a garage filled with rubbish. We were told it would be sorted quickly, it took maybe 7 months

-we wanted to pursue a tennant swap which all parties agreed to, we advertised and found someone willing to move in to be told the landlord wanted us to pay his fee which I was told is illegal and so we had to kick the new tennant put there after

Garden door was being held up/closed with a brick, plus the garage door was fallen through and wouldn't keep out a fox let alone a person

The garden was covered in glass

We recived no backing from this company perpetually taking the landlords side, to the point the council were involved and the Chancellors asked me to cancel it- an email I shall keep hold of.

There renting branch is a heartless, soulless group of people whom only want to do there 9-5 and get off home. No one overly gives two, if you're sleeping in a black mould infested room and would recommend going home. I will never bother with this ugly company again, im not a religious person but by God I will pray no one has to go through these issues again.

Iv done everything I can to get some form of reassurance, contacting Council, press, directors, solicitors and more. Only ever getting promises I had to take on faith, faith as such is a wasted commodity to this gutless company

Renting with chancellors east oxford was one of the most frustrating experiences of my adult life. They don't care about you, they only care about your money.

They were devious from the outset, the property we applied for was offered with a zero deposit scheme, which may be useful for some, but we wanted to pay a deposit as we felt it offered more protection. We were told that the house is only available with the zero deposit option (which is illegal). The advert stated that houses on the zero deposit scheme would see no rent rises during the tenancy, after one year they contacted us to say that the rent was going up - so they lied in their advert. Any issues with the house they were incredibly slow to respond, sometimes not responding at all, and they would always side with the landlord. When we first moved in, the back fence was about to fall over, we sent pictures to chancellors showing the fence at a 45 degree angle, and they replied that the landlord disagrees that the fence is falling over. They could clearly see that the fence was falling over, yet put no pressure on the landlord to get it fixed. The house was mouldy, the landlord didnt care so they didnt care, there was leaking pipes, the landlord didnt care so they didnt care. There was a lot of rubbish and junk in the house when we first moved in, and there were areas of the house that were still dirty from the previous tenants, we asked them to remove it, they didnt care, we had to clean the house and throw things away ourselves. When we first moved in, the bathroom cabinets were so rotten that the doors fell off in my hand the first time i tried to open them, landlord didnt care so they didnt care. They only got the issues fixed when we escalated things to the company directors and threatened legal action if they werent fixed. useless, spineless, devious, uncaring, liars.

The problem with trying to rent in Oxford is that chancellors seem to be the agent for 90% of rentals in oxford, so you have very little choice but to go with them, and they know this.

Daisy Clements in Property Management has been outstanding. She is an excellent point of contact; efficient, empathetic and very clear.

Manisha was amazing in helping us find our first home. While other agencies discouraged us given our circumstances, she supported us every step of the way. She took us through lots of properties and never made us feel rushed or pressured. Even with our full-time schedules, she made viewings work. Thanks to her, we found our first home!
The sales team then made the whole purchase process smooth and never hesitated to answer my thousand questions.
Truly a smooth, stress-free experience. Highly recommend!
