Chancellors have proved quite helpful to us in a challenging rental market. I was especially happy with Julia’s level of effort and flexibility in helping me understand the rules of UK tenancies that were new to me, and guiding me through the process of starting a tenancy.

I had a really positive experience with Chancellors throughout my property purchase. The team did a great job of following up regularly and ensuring that everything stayed on track.

Their communication was outstanding, particularly on the day of exchange, when they were very proactive in helping to make phone calls and move things forward. I also really appreciated the lovely gift on the day I picked up the keys, which was a very thoughtful touch.

It was a lovely experience, and I look forward to doing further business with Chancellors in the future!

Have used Chancellors' service for 4 years and generally very happy. Will Jones has been super helpful.

They are quite a standard service. Fairly cheap compared to all the other competitors out there. However you must expect that you will get the service that you are paying for in that respect. I'm using them to rent out an apartment in Summertown Oxford, and They have done all the major lettings processes with their established methodologies use to process their huge customer base around the country. Through this you won't get a personalised service, but something highly standardised. Because of this I recommend you double check all the things they do, and decide. for example they sometimes might ask an expensive plumber to do a simple handy-man contractor job (maybe due to the less specialised know-how of back office support workers). Furthermore, the local office once lost my key, and it was difficult to get them to take responsibility, and a huge issue came up with the tenant, where the tenant evenutally had to bear an emergency locksmith's cost (at Chancellor's fault for having lost the spare key). In general, they have a local angency to do sales/tenant finding, and manage backend stuff during tenancies, at a central office quite separated from the local apartment area. And as mentioned above, this brings various issues at certain times. However I'm quite hands on as a landlord anyway, and so at their price point, and current service offering, this is fine for my current needs.

They are prompt and professional.

I was searching for a flat for my daughter in Oxford, and that rental market is very fast moving. Katie Palmer from the Summertown branch was outstanding as she guided us throughout our property search, and handled some viewing issues expertly to show us the flat that we ended up selecting. The whole process was fast and efficient, which was more complicated as we were travelling from London. We were kept fully updated all the way through. Top marks as this was the best experience I have ever encountered.

The personnel, efficiency and services provided were excellent. The whole experience was perfect.

Hollie's service was over and above what I was expecting. She dealt with all the issues quickly and professionally and kept me updated regularly without being intrusive.

Chancellors has been my letting agent in Oxford for some time.

Last year, the previous tenants reported a fault with the fan in the ground floor bathroom. Following this, I received a replacement quote from Chancellor agent, which I approved, and I subsequently made the payment as requested.

However, when the new tenants moved in earlier this year, they again reported that the fan in the ground floor bathroom was not working. It was then discovered that the repair work quoted for had not actually been carried out, despite my payment.

Your agent has since informed me that the contractor used the payment to perform work on a different fan located in the top-floor bathroom. I was neither informed of this change nor did I authorize it.

I would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. I have ccd this message to your directors email one week ago. While I am waiting for your solution, your staff emailed me this morning that this maintenance question will be closed today.

This is a follow-up update after I gave the initial review two weeks ago. Chancellor senior manager ignore their initial quotation and their confirmation email. They took my payment for the quote and did not do the work.

I had an excellent experience with Chancellors. The sales team was incredibly helpful, guiding me to find a property that perfectly met my needs. Additionally, the management team was highly responsive, promptly addressing my questions and providing support whenever needed. I would definitely use this agency again in the future.

The service is really bad. They do not protect the tenant's rights.
They also charge you a ridiculous cleaning fee after your contract. You cannot get your deposit back.

Chris, the estate agent, was very pleasant knowledgeable and communicative. He was well-prepared and understood our needs.

Mullie was a phenomenal person to work with to market our property for sale. I would thoroughly recommend his services to anyone wishing to sell their property. His knowledge about the property market in Oxford is excellent. Very responsive and helpful.
