Tod Cooperman looks and sounds like a good man with principles, and a keen eye for rigorous science. I have been reading and listening to him for many years. Could any company or billionaire shyster offer him a chalet in France, or millions for a sick relative's care any day of the week -- in return for a false positive review? Yup. We would see it on his face though. He has been making the world better for a long time. Keep that integrity, Dr. Tod and thank you!!

When I started ConsumerLab.com in 1999 my goal was to provide the kind of information about supplements (and, eventually, foods), that I would want to provide to my own mother -- and that has been a guiding principle ever since. I'm happy to say that she is still using ConsumerLab (and still suggesting edits every now and then!)
Critical for evaluating supplement and food choices
I have been subscribing to consumer lab for years and I truly appreciate their testing and scientific reviews. In many cases, I decided against a supplement because their thorough analysis demonstrated no advantage (or a questionable one). I rely on consumer lab when making lots of food and supplement decisions.

I love the serious science analysis and often share info with my residents, med students and patients. And i appreciate the site owners refusal to refuse to back away from their data driven findings when threatened by a vendor.

I don't buy anything without checking here first
I've been a member of ConsumerLab for years and won't buy a supplement or health food without checking for safe & effective products. Sometimes I DON'T buy, if the supplement itself wouldn't be good for me depending on my particular situation.
I've learned so much about health in general from this site. And everything discussed is backed up with evidence & citations, down to the dosage recommendations & warnings. I tell everyone about Consumer Lab. And they don't pay me to do so :-), in fact, the subscription fee is very reasonable considering everything you get.

Great site for checking product safety and effectiveness
Overall, ConsumerLab is a wonderful resource for reviewing and rating foods and supplements, particularly in regard to safety issues - e.g., potency, heavy-metals and other toxins, and clinical evidence of benefits and risks in certain products. My ONLY frustration is that “Top Picks” are sometimes a revolving door, with some products dropping from “Top Pick” to “not approved” at all. But definitely worth the price of subscription.

Thanks for your review, but please be aware that there are good reasons why a Top Pick may change in a category. We continually test and re-test products and consider these findings in choosing a Top Pick. We also factor in changes in product formulations, availability, and pricing, and information from other sources -- such as recalls -- in our determinations. It would be easy to stick with the same product as a Top Pick, but we hope that you appreciate the effort we make toward keeping our recommendations up-to-date.
Kind of predatory trial
Good quality research and everything but predatory in the sense they make you wait 24hrs to cancel free trial in hopes you forget or get busy with something else so you are charged a yearly fee. Beware of being accidentally subscribed.

I'm glad consumerlab exists
I'm glad to be a member of consumerlab but I don't think enough supplements/herbs are reviewed. Several of the ones I'm taking don't exist on the site, so it would be helpful to someone like me if you reviewed a wider variety.

Outstanding service I trust
ConsumerLab is an outstanding service that I count on regularly. Not only do they test supplements to ensure proper ingredients/no contaminants, but they also have detailed, unbiased reviews of research on supplements and health issues. I never buy supplements without checking on ConsumerLab first. And when I need info on supplements or health issues I always trust ConsumerLab first over general searching.

A very helpful resource
I have come to rely on Consumer Lab for objective testing of nutritional supplement products. They ask for input re: specific brands and products to test . Each email from them is loaded with information you can use, and their website has the ability to search for testing data on multiple products and health concerns. Consumer Labs offers great value at a very fair price.

Meets the Needs of My Top Priorities
I like the product reviews, even for products I do not use. The ability to focus in on specific aspects of a review is a great time save. My favorite aspect of the site is the alphabetical listing of all products for reviews and recommendation.
