SCAM SITE!!! I contacted them multiple time because I wrote my password wrong and no one replied. I paid for a site I only accessed for one week. I received zero views and I sent sitxty messages!!

I've been suspended from Darkyria for no fathomable reason. I've read that they do this to people over 60. Those of us who've been rockin' at gigs etc and dressing to kill for 40 odd years. Ridiculous.
I see a gap in the market.

My account just suddenly got suspended for no reason at all. I hadn't broken any of the T&C's. Also while it was working it's nearly entirely behind a paywall

If you’re over 60 they will suspend your account. The guy who owns it’s a weirdo pervert and he’s only looking for a hot young girls.

Started in August as an unpaid member and was on the site almost everyday looking at profiles. Over these two unpaid months, I had 290+ women look at my profile, received 80+ likes and received 40+ messages.

Prices offered were initially something like 29.95 for one month, 59.95 for three months and 99.95 for six months. As the weeks went by, all prices dropped. The one month membership went to 24.95, then 19.95, then 14.95 and finally to 9.95 (at this point the three month membership was 20.95 and the six month membership was 34.95). A few days after these last prices were offered, I could no longer even view others profiles (which is really the only thing can you can even do with an unpaid membership, you can receive "messages" and even know who they are from but you can't read them, you can not send any written messages but you can send "enchants", which I will explain below).

So, I decided to pay 20.95 for a three month membership and here are the results for a little less than one month. I have maybe gotten two or three views (keep in mind I had 290+ when I was not a paying member) and I might have gotten one additional like. Also, now that I am a paying member, once I am logged in but inactive for a certain number of hours, the next time I try to do something the system automatically has me view some random woman's profile. This never happened when I was not a paid member. So, it seems the system is programmed for paid members to be steered into viewing the profiles of non-paid members, in order to give the impression of outsized interest.

Now we come to the 43 messages I received. Messages can either be normal written ones (only paid members can send or receive these) or "Enchants" (anyone can send these). "Enchants" are canned messages such as "Hi!" "I like you!" and three other similar nonsense type choices.

So, when I looked at my 43 messages, EVERY SINGLE ONE was one of these nonsense Enchants. Now that I have joined up, I have not gotten any more Enchants (or any real messages either) so these are also designed specifically to entice non-paying members to join. I should also mention that I did put effort into writing my own profile, something most people do not do.

I then looked through all of the profiles and selected six that I thought would be possible matches for me and responded to their profiles with written messages. Since I wrote, three of these women have been on the site and did not even open the messages I sent them (you can see if they are opened with a paid membership). One possibility is they are not paid members and can therefore not look at them (which is obviously a problem)...so when you look at profiles when thinking about whether to join, you have to realize that many, most or nearly all of these women will never be able to even read any messages you send them. Some are older and likely inactive. I'll leave it to the reader to speculate why a woman would have a non-paying membership on this site and semi-regularly sign in, when you can do absolutely nothing with it.

Finally, Darkyria claims that with a paying membership you can send "gifts" to other members (presumably, you could at least have a possibility of your messages being read that way)...but after I joined there was no way to do that (maybe that is just as well)...I wrote to Darkyria about this and they did not respond.

Very strongly not recommended but if you can't help yourself, get the non-paid membership and then wait two months for the price to come down and pay 9.99 for just one month to satisfy your curiosity (but make sure to turn-off the auto renewal right away).

Does anyone know a site like this that actually works

This website is a elaborate scam. It charges you in such away that it is difficult to track and the password reset function does not work to make it hard to enter and cancel your subscription.

I decided a while ago I was going to give Darkyria a shot, I have purchased 2, 6 month subscriptions called "imperium" subscriptions, purely out of curiosity, having read the reviews (spoiler, they are all correct and fair) the idea of Darkyria is a good one but the execution is diabolically bad, the amount of females on this site is limited at best and you will be unable to message any without paying a premium subscription, and when you do buy the "Imperium" subscription, messaging isn't guaranteed either obviously you can never guarantee a reply but an indicator of whether your message has been read would be nice (I don't know if this function exists but I haven't noticed it), whilst being a member of this site, I have messaged various women of differing ages, sizes, ethnicities and interests as an experiment to find out the "message to reply ratio", and so far it isn't good (I am half way through my experiment at this stage) so now I think either the women do not have the ability to message back without a subscription or is just a mass of inactive bots (who can tell?).
I have approached Darkyria with these concerns by messaging them (3 times over the last 6 months) on the contact page to which I have received no reply.
So again this makes me think it is a bot site, save your money, its all glitter and zero substance (bit like a certain breed of vampire 🤨).
So how can Darkyria be Improved? Well for a solution how about allow females to reply for free? Redesign the site from the ground up, undertake extensive advertising, offer decent subscription offers eg buy 6 months get 3 months free, there are more suggestions but this would be a good start, Information about the site isn't very good on the site itself.

It's lazy and seems to be functioning on automatic. As I said the idea is genius and extremely niche but the way it has been realised is just bad.

Don't bother with this, I do this research so you don't have to, swerve this site, it seems to promise more than it can deliver, now although I am on this site with a subscription I will not renew once this period is over.

If you are looking for a free alternative dating site, try "Alt Scene", it's 100% free and although isn't perfect it's better.

This is just a plain scam site. As others have attested to, the "interest" and messages keep coming in, no matter how much or little you have added about yourself - just to get you to pay up for interaction. Customer support is non-existent, key functions don't work and the operators if the site is hidden away. JUNK!

Horrible and fake scam site.
Signed up just to meet local people into the Goth Scene... Almost instantly had half dozen women messaging me and favoring my account. But of course you can't read messages or see who favored you without being a paid member.. so signed up. And of course the women who messaged me all the at the same cut and pasted message... and as soon as i had a paid account... no more likes, no more messages. I report the scam accounts and cancel my subscription (which should be active for a couple months because of the time i paid for..).. but right after that.. my account is suddenly banned.

Really bad website. You can only see messages if you pay, can you believe it?

Zero customer support, even for things that should be automated! At some point they changed their login settings from username to email and despite trying to use the "forgot login" link and contacting customer service, no reply. Glad I never paid to join. Feels exploitative as they are targeting an already under-served community of people in the online dating quagmire.

Scam, fake accounts and they stole my card details and used them to make purchases, had to cancel my card.

Website charges unreasonble fees to even read messages. small number of users and most are unactive.

My account got suspended without breaking any of their terms of use. they didnt even confirm this to me because support is non-existent. they will never respond to anything (not even automatic mails).

Never checked before joining, however in 3 days received 40+ messages, in comparrison to the average dating site the number of alternative girls is quite low and there is no way in such a short time I'd get that many genuine messages as even traditional dating is apparently 50 messages to get a single reply from a guys perspective, and from the other reviews below i can only assume this is to get me to pay to view messages from spam accounts.

S**t! That's it no more to say. Customer service , laughable, don't respond. People maybe real but that's it. No contacts from anyone despite being contacted first.

Absolutely rubbish. Another site where you have to pay a stupid amount to see who has "liked" you. I've seen this a couple of times to fall for it again, but basically the people that like you aren't real or don't match the criteria you've specified on your profile.
And they (darkryia) check your profile too, I added my Insta name and they banned me for 48 hours lol. Well I don't need their website, there's plenty of others available for free including altscene.

Really feels like a scam.

The site makes it almost impossible to get into contact with other real people. You probably bought need to be paying. You get preceded with the same people over and over even if you have indicated that you are not interested. Now new people will be suggested.

I feel like I have been mislead.
