It was great experience with David gray solicitor. I am very happy and grateful for that.

We appointed David Gray Solicitors to assist with my wife's immigration matter. Mr Mehdi Hassan conducted a professional and thorough application for ILR which was successfully concluded last week.
Many thanks to Mehdi and his associates for their assistance.
We now plan to engage the company further regarding an application for citizenship, and have no doubt they will provide excellent service in doing so.

David Gray Solicitors were appointed 5 years ago to help process our leave to remain visas and eventual indefinite leave which has just been obtained. Working with Mehdi Hassan and his immigration team has been an excellent experience and we cannot fault their professionalism, advice and support. We highly recommend this firm for your immigration matters.

Called David Greys to make an initial appointment. Was informed it would be £470 the first appointment with a ‘senior’ solicitor. To make it sound more appealing.
I’ve experienced other solicitors services in surrounding areas previously and always seen the solicitor in charge of the company never seen a junior solicitor. And paid less than that.
Overpriced and snotty attitude.

A great company to deal with. I used David Gray to sell a property. I worked mainly with Anne Austin and the support of Nicola Cowie. Both ladies were very friendly, supportive and efficient. If Anne was not available Nicola was always on hand to deal with things at speed. I would strongly recommend this company and Anne and Nicola in particular if you are wanting to sell a property.

I had the worst experience ever with this firm in Newcastle.

My assigned solicitor- Beth was never available via phone or email, she was only at work half the time in a week or always on vacation.

From the get-go she refused to view any evidence I had in October 2025 till December 2025, then acting surprised that I had that amount of evidence and asking why I hadn't provided it earlier.

She in conjunction with a partner Elspeth threatened to drop my case before calling back to apologise for being hasty.

At every point in the case when there seemed to be positive news for my case, her usual response was "this does not bring you any closer to the reoluof your case".

She obtained an even worse Barrister for me who was racist and made racist remarks on my first meeting with him.

In the end I made the great decision to drop the firm and from the mail received, the firm was equally ready to drop me.

My case has been resolved in my favour through better representation from a more sensible firm.

If you are black, African or of similar racial identity, beware.

Anne, Nicola and Liam were all very helpful and supportive, and dealt with our stresses and strains during the exchange/completion period with patience and kindness. We really appreciated the advice we received and would absolutely recommend them.

We used David Gray solicitors for the conveyancing of a sale of a family property. We were fortunate that we were afforded the services of the great Kathy Reid for this process. Kathy was helpful, polite and professional at all times and I would recommend her highly. Queries and requests were answered very quickly and with detail and support at all times. She made the process very easy to deal with and any issues were dealt with promptly.

As a FTB I had heard so many horror stories of solicitors who were slow, unreachable and generally made the house purchasing more difficult than necessarry. I was extremely wary when choosing a solicitor. After reading many reviews I choose David Gray Solicitors, they were not the cheapest but I decided to gamble that slightly higher fees would mean a better level of service and I'm so glad I did. Cara my solicitor was fantastic, responsive (she always responded to my enquires within 48 hours, usually sameday), and easy to reach. On rare occasions Cara wasnt available her colleagues were happy to assist. Cara helped me through two property purchases (the first fell through) due to survey issues. She was patient and good humored especially in the face of all my FTB questions (and required hand holding) throughout the purchase of my first home. The explanations, information and communication, including regular status updates were super helpful. I was so relieved that my experience was the exact opposite of friends/family who had unfortunately had months of trying to chase/contact their own solicitors to get updates and move along the process. I was delighted with the service I recieved and would use David Gray (Cara) again should I have the need of a solicitor in the future.

They were friendly, helpful and empathetic.
