Good customer service

Belle, the sales adviser who assisted us, was excellent. We were looking for a 2 seater sofa with full recliner, preferably in green leather, and she made sure she showed us all that was available. She was very helpful and informative without being at all 'pushy'. Would definitely recommend her to friends and family who are looking for help choosing sofas!

The member of staff who helped us in selecting a sofa, armchair and lamp/small table was extremely helpful, she did not rush or pressurise us into making a decision on what to buy (No hard sell). We were offered coffee (cappuccino, which was very appreciated, my partner even had a second cup). Once we'd decided on the items to purchase, before payment was made everything about care of the items, estimated delivery date and delivery drivers installation of the items was clearly explained. Overall we were extremely satisfied.

Visited DFS Sidcup and staff were welcoming and offered advice where needed. We already knew which sofa we wanted, but sales consultant was helpful in the selection of fabric. Overall great experience.

My experience was calm and stress free, largely thanks to Kay who was extremely polite, friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and helpful.
She sat down with us and made us a hot drink and gave me lots of information on the sofa and bed that I chose to purchase. I highly recommend this store. Kay couldn't of done anymore for me. She made me feel very comfortable and wasn't pushy like other stores, she gave me space to look. 10/10

We were looking for new sofas as our one is no longer suitable (purchased from DFS over 20years ago)!

We used the website to get an idea of styles we wanted to try and went to the Sidcup branch last Friday to see the sofas in person as we like to see the quality and dimensions ourselves before ordering. The staff we spoke to were very pleasant and helpful, asking what sofas we were looking for and giving us time to try them ourselves and then coming back to check on us to see how we were getting on and answering any questions we had. Unfortunately, they did not have the sofa we wanted to order in store but they reassured us that the sofa we were looking at was very similar in size and colour.

We came home and ordered through the website after double-checking measurements and to make sure the new sofa would fit through the house. The after sales messages have been very useful and the length of time for delivery is brilliant (they originally wanted to deliver within 7 days but we had to phone Customer Service and rearrange this due to work commitments and they were very understanding, happily changing delivery to Sunday).

Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our experience so far and cannot fault DFS and we are looking forward to the sofa being delivered on Sunday!

I visited the Sidcup store to look at sofas and initially placed an order. However, after leaving the store and reflecting on the discussion. I already had a sofa with them that needed repair, and the sales man discussed that with me. So, I changed my mind and contacted them within around an hour to cancel.
The salesperson I spoke to at the time indicated this shouldn’t be an issue given how quickly I acted, and that it would be passed to a manager.

I luckly had not signed any credit agreement or completed any follow-up paperwork.

Despite this, the following day I missed a call and shortly afterwards received an email confirming the order had been placed. I also received an automated message asking me to arrange delivery, even though I had already requested cancellation.

I raised this formally with RESOLVER online, and made it clear that I had cancelled within a very short timeframe and had not provided any further confirmation. I also said I received a call but I was working after which the order had been placed and put through. The email arrived thereafter. So I added all this information onto the Resolver website.

After some back and forth, the order was eventually cancelled. I was called today, and a message was left for me.

While I appreciate that the cancellation was ultimately honoured, the process felt unnecessarily difficult. Proceeding with the order after a clear and prompt cancellation request – and without confirmation – was disappointing.

TAKEAWAYS FOR DFS:- They could significantly improve the customer experience and their reputation by introducing a short cooling-off period (for example, around 10-14 days) before orders are fully processed.

This would give customers time to reflect, make changes, or cancel if needed, and would make people feel far more comfortable and confident buying from them in the future..

Excellent cuatomer service from Berivan she was very patient and helpful through the whole process made it a pleasent experience.
