They are selling only scam. Totally disappointed!

Absolutely disgusting service from this company.
I would suggest no one books a Auschwitz tour with Discover Cracow unless you want to have it cancelled no matter how far ahead you book and pay for it!
We booked with Discover Cracow in December 2024 and paid 84 euros then and just now, two weeks out they have cancelled on us for Easter Monday.
Great service, NOT but they offered to pick us up 0500 to get us there with no guarantee of tickets or guide. If we didn’t get tickets they offered to refund us 15% of our paid money.
I would never recommend using them as they will just take your money and not even precook tickets for you.

We booked our tickets for 10h30. Less than 24h before, and with no refund possibility, we receive a message saying we will be picked up at the designated location at 5h10. We meet our 'guide' who does not speak English. Barely any words are exchanged during the whole experience. We arrive at Auschwitz at 6h30 and wait 1h in line in -6 degree weather for the ticket office to open because we need to pick up the entrance pass. Multiple groups pass us to get tickets. Once we reach the register, the next one in English is at 14h, so we chose to take one in Polish at 9h. We wait another hour for the tour to begin. The actual tour was not managed by the company and was carried out by a guide from the Museum. If you think this is worth the money, go for it.

I would NOT recommend the Krakow Pass! It’s advertised as providing access to multiple museums and attractions, but it simply does not work as promised. When I tried to use it at the National Museum and Rynek Underground, I was denied entry because they supposedly didn’t accept the pass—even though these locations are clearly listed as part of the deal. I also had issues at other places where staff either had no idea about the pass or told me it wasn’t valid.

This was a complete waste of money and a huge hassle. Instead of making sightseeing easier, it caused unnecessary stress and extra costs since I had to buy separate tickets anyway. Customer service was useless and offered no real help or refunds.

Save yourself the frustration and just buy tickets individually. This pass is misleading and not worth the trouble!

Tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau. Today’s trip was a let down considering it is a once in a lifetime trip.

Auschwitz-Birkenau was incredible to see in person, however the overall trip with Discover Cracow was average at best. We booked in for an 8:15 start time, however were messaged the day before in a WhatsApp chat that this would now be a 10:15 tour start time (no email or formal communication.)

Upon arrival at the bus location, there were multiple groups from multiple different tour companies. Our tour guide John was moving up and down the line, completely clueless as to who was in his group. He was drinking a coffee, had snot running down his face, was dressed unprofessionally (graphic t-shirt and giant headphones) and spoke pretty average English. There was not enough seats on the bus for everyone on our tour, so one couple got shifted to a different bus, but this took him 20 mins so sort out. We were supposed to leave at 10:15 and left after all other tours around 10:45.

Upon arrival at Auschwitz 1, John informed us that we would be meeting in 20 mins out the front. During this time 10 other bus loads arrived and begun to line up. After 40 minutes waiting outside in the freezing cold, John decided we should line up and we got to the back of the line, behind every other tour that arrived well after us. It took another 30 mins to get into the museum. We waited in the cold for over an hour with no information or explanation as to what was occurring.

Once inside the information provided by the tour guide was in Polish, and then translated to us in broken English by John. This was booked as an English Language tour, and all other tours that were in English, the tour guide was the one speaking in English, no translation needed. The information provided by the tour guide was actually fantastic and very insightful, however there were multiple times where we had no idea what was going on as her and John were communicating in Polish. There was also many times where John translated a sentence to us that used incorrect words, meaning the sentence was out of context and did not make sense.

Once finished we were given 10 minutes to get back to the bus. The queue to the ladies toilets was very long, however we were not told that there was also toilets at our next outdoor location.
We arrived at Auschwitz 2 significantly late, and then John gave people 2 mins to look in the book store which turned into 10 mins and made us even later.
In the second part of the tour, we were so late that we were rushed and didn’t get to look at important features (the memorial site, the train carriage) and there was no microphones, meaning we couldn’t hear some things John was translating as his back was to us.
We were at the second site for under 1 hour. This was the site we all wanted to see so it was a shame we were very rushed here.

We arrived back in Krakow at 6:30pm.

Overall, seeing Auschwitz was an incredible once in a life time opportunity, it is just a shame that the tour was so poorly run and there was no English speaking tour guides.

We booked ticket in advance from aushwitz to krakow. We got to the bus stop 15 min before and there was a huge line already. Once we got on the bus there was no more seats available (we had a baby with us). Then we traveled all the way standing. There were people on the floor in the aisle and on the stair at the entrance of the bus. The company said this is normal procedure. I wonder how a travel style bus, going at high speeds on motorway for more than 1 hour allows such unsafe precedures.

Short version: We booked bus tickets. We didn't get seats, which was their fault. They won't give our money back.

Long version: We pre-booked tickets to get the bus from Auschwitz to Cracow. We were on time and showed our ticket to the driver. He shrugged his shoulders and let other people buy tickets to get on the bus first. In the end we and others were squeezed into the bus and had to stand or sit on the floor of the bus. Very uncomfortable and even dangerous. This while people who just bought a ticket with the driver were enjoying the seats of the bus. Some people with tickets didn't even get on the bus, which is ridiculous. We did nothing wrong, but we had a very bad experience after an already challenging day at Auschwitz. When e-mailing Discover Cracow about this, they told me that we indeed did nothing wrong. Still, they will not apologise or give our money back. After several e-mails in which I remained friendly and asked for a refund, they just didn't reply anymore.

Cancelled us last min nd couldn’t get auchwitz again ruined our holiday

Bought a trip to Auschwitz back in july. The day before the trip, i received a mail, involving all the basic information, about my upcoming trip. We were supposed to be picked up at 9 am, but at 9:30 am, when there was still no sign of the driver, i called the company. They said that the trip was cancelled, i should find my own way to Auschwitz, and i would get my money refunded.

The tours itself are good, but changing tour times from 2pm to 8am 16 hours before the tour and then telling them they cannot get a refund, because they didn't cancel at least 24 hours before, is a pure circus. At least tell people not to buy bus tickets in advance if you are going to pull pranks like this.

Fantastic tour! We were picked up from our hotel on time and transported to the meeting point. Michael, our host was amazing, very approachable and happy to answer any questions. On arrival at Auschwitz, we were met with our guide. His portrayal of the atrocities at Auschwitz Birkinau made the experience for us; he was fantastic. Couldn't have asked for a better guide. The experience was very smooth and well organised. Well worth the money and highly recommended.

The only positive was the hotel pickup which was punctual, it all went downhill from there!
After the hotel pickup we were dropped off at galeria krakowska to join the main bus. The guide greeted us and ticked us on his list and told us the vehicle would be there in 2 minutes. Then we saw him get on another bus. We were left there for 30 minutes(7 of us) until we decided to contact the company via text. They told us someone would come to pick us up. A few minutes later a taxi showed up but he didnt have enough space for the whole group. We explained this to the company who seemed to be confused and putting the responsibility on us if we were to be late. Then they sent another taxi for 7 people. We made it to Auschwitz by around 12:15. The rest of the group who had taken the earlier bus had to wait for us. The visit at Auschwitz was good but there was no break inbetween the Birkenau visit. Once we arrived at Birkenau we were rushed and spent just around 10 minutes touring the area, undoubtedly the tour was cut short because of the fiasco with the transfers. After we left Birkenau there was some confusion between where the tour guide told us to be collected from and where the actual doscover krakow guide went, so we ended up walking to the wrong location and had to wait in the sun for nothing. Really poor organisation. On the way back we joined the main bus, which was very uncomfortable as the seats were really cramped, not as advertised!
To add insult to injury the discover crakow guide was admittedly sick and insisted on shaking hands and getting in close proximity several times. As a consequence I got his infection on my return home!
Although the guide was very apologetic about all the issues, there was no form of compensation. I would therefore avoid using this company.

The Wieliczka Salt Mine, Cracow: An interesting, if long, guided walk through part of a vast salt mine. Safety information (e.g. what do if separated from the group) was inadequate and advance notice of the hundreds of steps down into the mine, the lengthy walking and the small, old-fashioned, unlit and claustrophobic lifts to exit the tour would have been helpful. The tour seemed rushed – perhaps because of the delayed start, see below. With neither amplification nor headsets the part-time guide provided by the mine was difficult to hear at times and though careful to keep the party together most of the time, left us to make our own way through the final complex of rooms – crowded, with cafe, gift shop etc- and predictably lost two of the group, leading to a lengthy delay.

The operator: Tour arrangements by Discover Cracow were shambolic. No English speaking guide at the pickup point or on the tour coach. Coach waited more than 20 minutes for one late passenger who said that his taxi arranged by Discover Cracow had been half an hour late. This meant arrival at the mine just in time to meet our anxious young Discover Cracow “host” who said that our tour was to begin in just four minutes: too little time to use the ladies’ lavatories. Once we entered there was another lengthy delay because the group had somehow acquired two extra people in excess of the limit. Out of one area we came, until two guests volunteered to leave for a different tour, then back again into the stairwell area. No meeting time for the end of the tour was provided and having told us “parking lot in five minutes” the host promptly disappeared, leaving guests to make their own way. Some took a wrong turning and emerged after a long walk on to the public road to walk back up to to the entrance: several became completely lost, hence another 20 minute delay locating them via GPS and the host trying to message them. So from a tour expected to last perhaps 4.5 hours we were dropped back in town after over five and a half, with no apology, no ‘thank you for coming’.

Overall: visit the salt mine if you’re reasonably fit and don’t mind tiny dark lifts, but choose another operator and avoid Discover Cracow.

We left the whole day open to see Auschwitz, and they cancelled the tour on us. They are just a bus operator and a bad one at that.

After talking to a guide that is employed by the Auschwitz Camp and has live in the area his whole life, is how it works with all tour companies to Auschwitz. They don't buy the tickets until the bus is full, and leave it as late as possiable to buy them. This is because to stop ticket reselling they put a name to each ticket and check it with goverment ID. So only the person who they book for can use that ticket. This means sometimes they don't have tickets for anyone and just risk waiting at the gate, hence why there are some many reviews of leaving at 4am to be the first there when it opens. All the good reviews must of been when it was super busy.

So my story. I booked through headout but got put with their local guide discover krakow. Always book direct with a company not a middle man like headout, they made it seam like they were the company not the middle man. The morning of I get to the metring place at 6.15am for my 6.30am tour. It's gets to 6.45am and a full bus come and picks up about 12 German speaking tourist, she tells us the English one will be here soon. It gets to 7am and another guy calls, they tell us that our trip was moved to 4am but hangout didn't inform us. This guy apperanlty also got a call at 3.40am that morning telling him to be there at 4am.

The only reason we came to Poland was to go to Auschwitz, so we decide to get a train there to see if we can get in. We get there at about 10am wait for tickets was about 1hr, we get a tour for 12.30pm, tour took 3.5 hrs. Get back to train station for a train at about 5.30pm.

it's the place that's does the tours. 10,000 people come through everyday and they have 300 guides, that speak 20 languages. It's a well oiled machine.

Catch the train
Its an hour train trip from Krakow main station to Oświęcim (polish spelling of auschwitz), and a flat walk of about 20min to the museum where tour startes or there is a bus.

Guides were fantastic for both places, very knowledgable and explained things very clearly. Both were great trips. We did both on the same day although I would advise against this as it is an extremely long day otherwise but this is my personal opinion.

Poor service and double the ticket price they take in commission. Everyone waiting outside in the cold for the guide even though I booked skip the line tickets and not guided tour. Everyone advised to wait outside so that they don't see original ticket prices! Terrible service, huge ripoff!!

very poor organization, it is better to arrange your own transport to Auswitsch and do the tour yourself with a guide from Auswitsch.

I booked a tour for 8 people at 10.20 at the schindler factory. I called at 10.30 as the guide had not turned up to be told the guide would be 5 mins (a lie). After 30 mins waiting I called again to say the guide may be there at 11. As we had a plane to catch later in day I could not wait so asked the factory if I could enter. I was refused entry as the tickets through discover krakow were not valid!

I ended up having to book again direct.

I asked discover krakow for a refund and got told it was not their problem and for me to contact the site I booked through - get your guide.

The company is a joke and cares nothing for you or your trip. If things go wrong they won't even sort things out or reimburse you.

It was completely unacceptable! We waited 40 minutes in the snow before the bus arrived without receiving any information. Then we were driven to the parking lot outaise the salt mines and when arrived we had to wait in the bus for the guide still without receiving any information. When the guide arrived after 30 minutes, we were taken to the salt mines where we then had to wait 20 minutes outside before we could enter. After we entered, the guide told us to go further down and follow another polish guide. Our guide then left without saying a word when we were on the way down the many stairs. We were left with the polish guide who did not understand a word we said and did not understand why we were with her. We had to endure 2.5 hours underground with a polish guide where we and half the group of 50 did not understand a word she said. At the end, this Polish guide left us and we had to wait almost an hour 130 m below ground where everyone pushed to be the next in line to get the elevator up. We could then not get a taxi and was lost in this town far outside Krakow. In the end, we luckily found the bus. It was truly traumatizing and I will expect a full refund and compensation for this treatment. I will recommend everyone to avoid this tour!
