Friendly staff

Waiting at Edinburgh for a car, there are so many customers waiting as there is only one agent available. Been told it will be an hour and half at least before I get to see the agent!! I booked this car some time ago as probably every one else did so why only one agent available.
To update I even rang their customer service and spoke to an agent. He said there is nothing he could do as I had head office!! I said that that was not the response that a customer wanted to hear. Also he was part of the customer service team. I asked to be contacted by the branch manager but of course that hasn’t happened.

Reading the reviews I notice that there are only responses when ‘good reviews’ are posted but deathly silence when otherwise

Very disappointing experience with Drivalia in Edinburgh.
I was told that I had to pay an additional £50 for insurance coverage that subsequently turned out not to be necessary. The information I was given was contradictory, and I felt misled during the rental process.
Before booking, they responded quickly to emails. However, once the booking was made and problems arose, they stopped responding and simply directed me to a questionnaire.
Very little transparency and extremely disappointing customer service.

I rented a car from Edinburgh City Center on 29 August 2026. When I picked up the car, there was a good deal of minor damage all around the vehicle. The Drivalia attendant assured me it was all accounted for. Even so, I took several pictures of the most severe damage.
When I returned the car on 1 September, the attendant took the keys from me and said "you're all set." By the time I got back to my flat, I had received a bill for $700 USD for "damages."
I have sent time stamped images to the Drivalia customer service portal and keep getting back "we cannot open your files" or similar delaying tactics, and the dispute is ongoing.
When first posting this review, I received a response from Drivalia saying they would investigate. I will update my review pending the results.

Absolutely terrible. They lied that the shuttle was coming they said it would be 10 mins, 25 mins later the shuttle is still not here. When I phoned back to ask where it was they said it was on its way, I pointed out that they said that on the phone 25 mins ago, so either him or the person before is lying. He hung up. Excellent customer service lol. DONT USE THIS SERVICE. Unless you want to speak to rude staff and stand in the cold forever

Amazing hire car company. Robert at the Edinburgh city branch made both the pick-up and drop-off incredibly quick and easy. The car was in excellent condition, and the whole experience was seamless from start to finish. Would definitely use them again!

The service we got from Rob on site was amazing. He went above and beyond to help us (as I'd forgotten my physical credit card) - he was alone in the premises and had a long queue of people waiting, but he worked super fast and wearing a smile all the way. Could not fault his service at all.
I think Drivalia should have more than one person in store to avoid long queues and long waiting times for collections. Not fair on customers or the lone member of staff stuck at the desk

Rob was so friendly and made the collection and drop off so seamless. Would highly recommend the city centre location to pick up as opposed to the airport...fast and efficient. Will hire again from Rob without hesitation.

I arrived at the Edinbourgh branch at 16:05 after having had difficulty getting into the building and waiting for the lift. My collection time was 16:00 , I waited penitently for the rep to finish with a customer and started talking to him at 16:15 where he told me the staff that let the cars out had gone and that a late collection fee of £150 would be required if he was to try and resolve the issue. At this point I accused him of trying to scam me. But he insisted that I was late and it was my fault. I had no option but to walk away!
The whole reason for the car hire was taking my 90 year old mother who had just recovered from a hip fracture to her best friends funeral. Having traveled with her from london by train I then needed a hire car for her but instead because I would not roll over and pay £150 as I was not l late I ended up loosing more money in taxi fares.

Even after online check-in documents still needed to be scanned manually at the office. Over 1 hour wait at pickup with only three customers ahead of us.

Insurance and payment policies both clearly enough stated beforehand. Digitalization clearly hasn't reached this place yet.

Office staff did their best but system is terrible.

My experience with Drivalia was absolutely the best ever. There is a person named Raahil Muralidharan in the Edinburgh City Center branch and he is the kindest person I have met ever. He did something so kind that saved my entire trip to the Lake District in England. I will never forget his gentle nature and exceptional service to customers.

An absolute best place to pick up the cars. Everyone here is so lovely, so friendly and really helpful. Very glad to have found this for our holidays.
