Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience with Drivalia Glasgow.
At collection I found additional damage that wasn’t on the paperwork. I pointed it out and was told to take photos, but when I asked for it to be recorded I was told it couldn’t be (although there were boxes to do so). I was also told by the employee, Kenny, I was being “the most pedantic” customer when hiring a car. Not exactly great customer service. Maybe he was having an off day.
The return was worse. I was told by Kenny when I collected the car to return it by 2pm on Sunday but wasn’t told about the major road closures caused by the Glasgow running event. We spent around an hour trying to reach the branch, only to find the road and businesses closed.
I eventually contacted the airport branch. Their staff, Gary, instructed me to leave the car at a nearby car park with the keys and parking ticket inside. I was told this was fine and that it was noted on the system. Gary was apologetic and dealt with the situation well. Worried about leaving the vehicle there I asked for written confirmation this was okay. I was told I had been sent an email and text but received neither. I was offered to drop the car at the airport instead but this wasn’t possible due to needing to catch a train.
I followed Drivalia’s instructions, but the whole situation was completely unnecessary and could have been avoided with basic communication that the race was on, roads would be closed, and the rental location would be closed.
The car itself however was fine and did what it needed to do. No complaints with the vehicle provided.
Personally I wouldn’t use this company again.

broke down
broke down! had to get emergency accommodation! no apology no compensation for costs of B&B. This branch of Drivilia gave me a car that broke down after 3 days. me and a friend were stranded in the north of scotland and had to find somewhere to stay. next day the car had to be taken to aberdeen on a recovery truck where we were given a car to drive all the way home to Glasgow. Drivilia did not reach out to us and have not made any apology or any offer to make things good. So low- don't trust this company to make good if they make mistakes. they will take your money - try to up-sell you at the counter and then ignore you if anything goes wrong. Better value and service elsewhere for sure.

Too cheap? Listen to the alarm bells.
Don't believe that car rental companies can survive by charging £12 per day for a car. If you see a price like that, it's a scam. Scam companies also do other trickery such as getting fake positive reviews so take great care.
Having booked a Drivalia car through the online agency stressfreecarrental.com and having carefully read the paperwork requirements and having checked in online the previous evening. I arrived at the Glasgow rental site to be refused a car unless I paid an additional £60 per day for insurance. This is despite offering a credit card in my name for the deposit.

The shuttle a the Glasgow airport was a little tricky, but once aboard the service was excellent, the process was speedy, quality car, and all for much cheaper than any other companies I could see online.

Great car and friendly staff.
Once we found the pick up location in Edinburgh it was a great experience.

great place, just plan ahead
Daniel took care of us - he was awesome, super friendly and offered us a couple of bonuses for free since we are on our honeymoon. Just be aware this location is not in the airport with the other rental places, you need to be picked up in the shuttle - call ahead!

Do not use this car rental service
Do not use this car rental service. There was plenty of hidden fees not communicated properly which lead us to pay an excess of 400 pounds on top of the rental of the car. The customer service was very bad, and they didn't attend to our needs at all. I am very disappointed and don't recommend this experience to anyone. I will not use Drivalia ever again.
