This is a review one year on from buying our Eccleston Homes House. I am not going to go into specific issues with the house because any new build house will have snags etc. This review is based around Eccleston Homes as a company, the type of service you can expect and what they could do better. First off, all of the sales people we dealt with from the time of our first viewing to the day we got the keys were absolutely first class and are a credit to the business, with the exception of the sales director who was a complete waste of time. Once we got the keys, the lack of organisation, communication, broken promises and lack of resources in customer services badly lets the company down. Our house had not been cleaned and parts of the house still had numerous areas covered in wet paint on the day we got the keys, with no explanation given. You will be left trying to chase site managers, waiting for one or more sub contractors to either not show up at all or when they do show up they will not always know exactly what they are there to do. If you try to contact Eccleston Homes customer services by phone it will never ever get answered. If you try phoning the sales line it always gets answered. Emails to customer services will need multiple emails from you chasing them before you get an answer. If you are not prepared to continually chase them and at times argue, you will absolutely not be getting the home you expected. I genuinely believe that most of the individual members of staff at Eccleston Homes have the best of intentions in terms of trying to help customers but they are sadly let down by a business that at best appears to be chaotic, unstructured and at times down right deceitful. We still have a number of small issues that still need to be resolved and I am sure that eventually they will; but it shouldn't be this difficult. If the company placed more staff in customer services, provided a clearer line of communication with its site staff, and kept a better track of issues with individual properties, Eccleston Homes could be a truly outstanding house builder. Unfortunately at the moment they are well below par and will take any opportunity to hide from issues rather than tackle them head on. Every business makes mistakes but the sign of a great business is how they resolve issues and learn from them to prevent them happening again.

I have worked on eccleston homes for 3 days this week and the quality of the homes are incredible so modernised and affordable. My times on the site has been outstanding.

But for the contractor DDG plumbing and heating who I have worked for have been absolutely atrocious with constant problems and even refusing to pay me national living wage by a government set law.

Recently popped into Brook House place as we were passing as we love looking at show homes and whilst we were there we got chatting with Anne who was able to talk us through the different developments and what was still available to reserve. 3 weeks later we’ve just had our reservation meeting and have secured our family home.

From us first stepping into the sales office to us leaving after our reservation meeting, Anne has been so friendly, knowledgeable and patient with us (and our 16 month old who dropped crumbs over the floor every time we came in!). She has taken the time to sit with us and talk us through everything and how the process works with part exchange etc. and for two nights in a row has stayed late to accommodate us whilst we got everything in line before reserving.

It’s our first time buying a new build so has been difficult to picture what the house will actually look like, especially when choosing options. It would have been really useful to have mock up pictures of each room to be able to envisage how things will look.

Overall, the experience with Eccleston homes and Anne has been brilliant so far, hopefully it continues to this high standard as we move through the process to completion.

I was made to feel very welcome when I arrived by Ann and the team and given some useful information.
The homes were well thought out and roomy.
I was disappointed by the garden when I was led to believe they were low maintenance courtyard areas
The showhome had a microwave built in but I was informed this was not available.
The showhone fitted wardrobes had shelving but the wardrobes if purchased from Eccleston homes have no shelves just hanging space
All together they will make a pleasant home for the right buyers.

EDIT: although the below is true, we were told that we’d get an 105% market part exchange. We didn’t expect to get the full bank valuation (225k, and previously had it valued by estate agents at 220k) but we were offered 185k despite the man on the phone telling us one of the agents had valued it at 195k. We were then told it wasn’t an 105% px which then changed and we were told it was 🤔 felt quite misleading and deceptive. The ‘local’ agents they spoke to also were not local - or at least not leading local ones and the names to me sounded like they were online agents but I’ve not done any investigation into that so take it with a pinch of salt.

We’ve ended up having to pull out as their offer wasn’t enough to cover stamp duty. The whole process of the part exchange felt very misleading and indeed that it was all in their favour. Considering the incentive was it was a 105% PX - there was nothing here to suggest any of that was true. My mortgage advisor even said it was funny that their offer was enough to cover an 5% deposit on the house and it was “extremely cheeky”. I’m sure if we could’ve continued with them it would have been fine, as the staff we dealt with after the initial sales stuff were professional and nice however the whole thing has left a bad taste in my mouth as it’s clear their interest was not in being fair. If we’d been offered the 195k one of the agents valued it at we would have been fine, despite that still being less than I bought the house for initially. But I suppose what else can you expect. To be transparent they did offer us the easy mover scheme, but as we are getting married in a few months we felt this process wouldn’t suit our current situation (and is why we had opted for part exchange in the first place).

Anne was amazing at our reservation meeting. She went over everything in detail and answered any questions we had. Looking forward to proceeding with them and getting into our new home!

We visited the showroom yesterday and Rosie Khan was very helpful and well-versed with the property details. She was cheerful and pleasant. Her customer service was excellent and provided us with all the information we needed. We had a very time at the Ramsbutton showroom.

What a great experience in our search for a new forever home. Anne was so informative and the reassurance in what is such a big life step was second to none! Everything was fully explained, including what we can expect vs what is to be added as extras. We really appreciate everything and are confident our expectations have been managed well and in a supportive manner. Thank you for all your help!

I've waited until we moved into our new home before writing this review.

The initial sales process with Eccleston was excellent and very easy. Rebecca was very friendly to deal with and kept us informed at every stage. We agreed a part exchange which was easy to do and removed a lot of stress from the house sale process.

When picking options, there was plenty available - both in the standard ranges and as upgrades. One thing that would have improved this would have been a computer simulation of how different options could look in the home.

Things went a little bit awry when there was a change of Sales Consultant just before we completed - the information flow from Eccleston seemed to stop and it became difficult to get things organised. We eventually got back on track just prior to completion.

The house itself seems well built and has a very attractive stone finish. There are of course snags - which are inevitible with any new build however few of these are major and the site manager seems committed to sorting them out.

One minor gripe - for a company that clearly spends a little more to improve the quality of the homes they build - they do seem unusually tight with some things. E.g. no door number, bins or rear turfing provided.

Matt and Fred have been exceptional site managers for Whistle Rise, Eccleston Homes. Ever since we moved in, their presence and commitment on site have made a significant difference.

They have consistently been true to their word, responsive, and professional in handling any issues that have arisen. They attend promptly to complaints, ensure matters are addressed efficiently, and see them through to completion without unnecessary delays.

Their dedication to customer satisfaction and their proactive approach have not gone unnoticed. Thank you, Matt and Fred, for your outstanding work, support, and commitment. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and have contributed positively to our experience as homeowners. Do not relent please!

We have recently moved into our forever home on whittle rise, can’t thank the sales team enough, Dawn (White)has been brilliant since joining the site, she’s answered all my questions and has been so friendly and approachable, we had a couple of teething problems but the team of Matt and Dawn have been happy to assist us straight away, big thank you to all.

From the moment I visited Whittle Rise in December 25, Dawn has made me so welcome, continues to answer all my questions, and was very patient throughout the completion process. Eccleston Homes have been fantastic throughout the whole process of buying my first home. Everything has been very straightforward from start to finish, which made what could have been a stressful experience feel really smooth and easy.

A special shoutout to Linda Collins in sales, who was incredibly warm, welcoming and supportive throughout. She made me feel comfortable and reassured at every stage of the process, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble.

The house itself is beautiful and finished to a really high standard. I’m so happy with my new home and would definitely recommend Eccleston Homes to anyone looking to buy.

We have just purchased our forever home from Eccleston and having previously bought and lived in new builds this has been a breath of fresh air. The team are all extremely friendly and helpful. I have to say a huge part of our journey was with a sales advisor named Rosie and she honestly deserves more praise than I can write. So warm, so friendly and so helpful. She kept me updated about everything possible. She linked in with me even when she was based at other sites and always had time to talk about any queries I had. Nothing was too much trouble and just one of the warmest genuine people I have had the pleasure to meet. My 3 yr old also fell
In love with her which definitely made the whole process super exciting for him. He was always so happy to see her and she made him feel so special. The Manager Marcus was also amazing throughout and still to date. He always answered the telephone or got back to
Me super quickly which is definitely helpful when buying a home. He gave us some really helpful advice and tips and saved us over the completion weekend by using his knowledge to give us more time to get ourselves sorted. I also have to say a huge thank you to Maurissa who was also a genuine and supportive member of the extended team and we really appreciated her expertise.
The homes speak for
Themselves, quality builds to last a lifetime but the staff make the experience so much more than what it could be. They all go the extra mile and all are genuine and kind hearted soles who can’t do enough for you. All in all just a fantastic experience.

Anne at Brook House Place was absolutely amazing. She was very thorough and patient. Really understood our preferences and personal needs and gave useful advice based on this. A great we experience. Highly recommended.
