Purchased an external fire door, pre-fitted in frame from Emerald doors. £1,500

- lock in door and opening in frame did not line up (came pre-assembled, no installer issue)
- very difficult to open as door does not sit straight in frame. Top of door leans on frame
- screws sitting proud on the bottom of the door
- door is lowering over time. Screws on bottom of door now hit

Emerald doors do not accept responsibility for any of this. They say that the faults must be from installation, but I find it hard to believe that in the process of placing the frame and pre-fitted door in the opening they
- added some random screws to the bottom and left them proud
- weakened the frame
- moved the door down a couple millimeters

I have not before felt the need to leave a bad review for any supplier, but for Emerald Doors I will make the exception.
I ordered a door with plus weather bar to be delivered to a working construction site. It was a last minute decision on the part of the client to replace a door and so I paid a significant amount of money for next day delivery. It didn't arrive. No call or apologies.
When it finally did arrive 3 days after "next day" it was damaged, but as the door was so late the carpenter on site had no option but to repair and fit it. The weather bar didn't arrive at all. After yet another call or two, it finally arrived several days later and we had to return to site to fit it. For over a month now I have been asking for the next day delivery charges to be refunded. I had one initial email confirming that accounts had been notified. I have emailed several more times, have had no further communication, the monies have not been refunded and at no point was I offered any compensation for what was a shocking experience which caused me considerable inconvenience.
In times where really good long-standing businesses have failed to survive, I really have no idea how Emerald Doors continues to do so. If you are purchasing for trade and need doors to arrive in a timely manner and expect some level of customer service, I would strongly recommend that you go elsewhere.
If I could leave zero stars I would.

I ordered a door on the 27 th November , it’s was advertised as being 3-5 days delivery-payment of £270 was taken from my card! I was then contacted by customer service to say that it wouldn’t be delivered til the beginning of February. I stated that this wasn’t tenable, I requested a refund. I still haven’t received the refund, even after chasing it up on three occasions. I will now have to go down the route of contacted my credit card company to get the refund.

Completely unacceptable customer services and false information on the website

I have just received my doors a week ago, and only recently had them fitted in, as well as the door handles too. The quality of the doors are exactly the way you see them online, beautiful finish and the quality is second to none. I know that these doors will last me a lifetime. I hope to order some more for the hallway very soon.

The quality of the doors were perfect and the customer exceeded my expectations as a first time house buyer they have gone above and beyond in helping me and my wife in their support.

Product quality not up to standards and refund process poorly dealt with by customer service.

Builder signed for delivery package and when father opened up the package, he noticed that the handle was missing. Company claims that because the package had been signed for, it means that the handle was delivered. Sounds like a company trying to scam older people. After inspecting the door on a closer look, we realised the quality was shockingly poor.

Took nearly half a year to finally get a refund but this was heavily deducted due to multiple hidden costs which was not agreed despite numerous back and forth encounters with customer service.

Poor old father trying to sort this dragged out ordeal. I would not wish upon anyone to have to go through this dishonest and insulting process with a trade. Therefore I strongly advise against ordering from this company.

Fantastic service from start to finish, the doors looking amazing upon arrival and customer service was brilliant.

Cancelled my order due to a door being out of stock and I didn't want to wait 10 weeks. I was told my refund of £553 would be passed on to the finance department. I'm still waiting 4 weeks later. Sent them a few emails but had no reply since, even tried phoning but just goes to answerphone. I know we are in lockdown at the moment but it says on the website that they are open.

Terrible experience. Avoid.
Made an order which I later cancelled before delivery could be arranged (goods much cheaper elsewhere). I requested a full refund (close to £1000) which was promised within 5 days. A month later I'm still waiting. They claim they sent the refund via transfer but the money has never been received by my bank. Made several requests for returned phone calls and emails so I can pass on to my banks dispute team - each time I'm promised, each time they fail to live up to that promise.

If you want to throw away your money...by all means fill your boots.

Pictures on websites are misleading

I recently bought French doors from Emerald. On their website pictures, the doors are completely flush.
On receipt, only one side was flush. The other side had thick cumbersome jambs which protruded from the hinges of the door.
James Lynch at Emerald asserted that these protrusions were shown in the technical drawings. I acknowledge this as true but it does not detract from the fact that the pictures are misleading and no reasonable buyer would have clicked through all the technical drawings when the pictures on the website clearly show a flush finish.

Emerald should have taken pictures from both sides to not mislead customers.

I have just had my new porch erected on a new base both of which was done by emerald home improvements the guys who did the porch were Wayne and Dan really polite and well mannered they arrived on time and were like a well oiled machine they set to work and within no time at all the porch was built .so interesting to watch they levelled everything fixed securely and in no time at all the job was complete. a true credit to your company and really professional tradesmen thank you.

I was recommended to this company by a client who had used them some time ago and therefore thought best to buy from a company who had been recommended, although I had found the exact same doors, same spec even the same product name elsewhere for £50 less each per door! My wife called them and was offered a discount of just £4 per door so U contacted them and reminded them of their "so called " price promise and was immediately told " it's unlikely that we will match that price" and then questioned as to why if I had seen them cheaper why hadn't I bought them, insinuating that I had made it up! Given the very poor attitude of Vicky on the phone I have since ordered this same product elsewhere for a much better price, delivery less than half the price and a quicker delivery.

If there attitude is like this before you have bought anything from them I hate to think how they deal with you when things go wrong.

I am not usually keen to write negative reviews as i do like to give every business ample opportunity to resolve a situation, but being blatantly ignored is not good customer service and in this case does not follow their own ethos and commitment ( check their website) I purchased a rather expensive door and frame (over 1K) and all the products as recommended by them. The work required to install the door was being undertaken by contractors and a professional carpenter by creating a opening larger than the current one. The door arrived and was all packaged. Delivery driver was pleasant enough but do not give you a chance to check it as busy and need move on to next drop. I needed help anyhow as following spinal surgery unable to do myself. Works continued at front of property and due to some issues took longer than anticipated. At point ready to install door, as unpacked by carpenter in front of us, a large dent visible ( pinched square marking where moved in warehouse) and a visible scrape on the front side of door. The door had to be installed as no one available on the Saturday and naturally we needed to secure our property, however reported immediately... and this is where the "customer service" the "ethos"of Emerald doors truly kicked in. I was politely told that they have stringent quality checks that would of picked up any issues ( clearly they don't as would have picked this up), should have checked on delivery ( delivery guys pleasant enough but told me on timeline and needed be off, they don't offer assistance and i was unable to check) also told because of time to install and doors hung there is nothing they would do for me. I have told them that i accept i have had to hang the door and don't expect a full replacement or indeed a full refund, but some "token gesture" in view that this was not a cheap door by any means.. unfortunately since, they have not responded at all. Overall, I found them fairly polite, but indifferent, they need appreciate their customers as future business depends on it.. I will not order the bifold doors i was going to or indeed the garage door i was going to through them. I also notice a poor review on 1st July. They need focus on aftercare and helping customers, an awful lot of business is through recommendation, silly to ignore.

Placed an order for £700 online only to be called the next day to say the doors were not in stock and were now discontinued "would I like an email suggesting different doors " ? no was my answer please could they process a refund ASAP as I would need to funds to look for the doors elsewhere . I was told they would get onto the accounts dept straight away however I see that the funds have still been taken (a day after I cancelled ) and when I called to ask how long it will take a disinterested person said it would take a few days depending on my bank, not apologetic at all ...so now I have to spend the time frustrated all because this poor retailer cannot update their website when items are discontinued.

Good company to do business with and were really pleased with the doors that we received.

Have used this supplier before, still 1st. rate.
Great range, good information contact both by Emerald and their delivery transport.
Would recommend them to anyone.

Ordered my doors online and received notification that they had arrived within a couple of days. I arranged to collect them on a Saturday and when me and my husband arrived, the extremely helpful staff member advised us that they had already been brought up from the warehouse and were by the front door waiting for us, he then helped us to put them into the back of our car which was a little challenging, but we made it in the end. Really appreciate this type of customer service. p.s. Doors are beautiful and we have received lots of compliments from visitors. Thank you!

We needed a new interior door for our living room and couldn't quite make a final decision - Spoke with Emerald Doors on the phone and they were very helpful indeed, offering friendly advice where needed and no pushy sales techniques! In the end we were very happy with our Walnut door, great quality product and looks absolutely stunning. Would wholeheartedly recommend to anybody. Keep it up guys =)

I wrote an excellent review when my door set was delivered and installed in April 2015. Since then, however, the side panels of my Copenhagen set have proved to be less than satisfactory in that water has got into the joins despite them being treated exactly as instructed when I spoke to the company before purchase with the product pictured on the company website. Emerald have not been prepared to take any responsibility for this and have merely forwarded me details of different products. I feel very let down especially as the top layer of veneer has lifted on one side.

I was very impressed with the quality of our door and it has received many compliments regarding the beautiful design and overall quality. Having looked at many different companies after originally wanting to restore our original door, the price we actually paid for a beautiful, brand new door, was less than half the amount that other companies were asking for (in my opinion) inferior quality products. The ordering and delivery process was seamless and I would not hesitate to use Emerald Doors again.
