Fabulous facility with friendly approachable staff. My son had a great 7th birthday party thanks to Reece and Joe who hosted us at Clip N Climb Maryport. Thank you so much. Highly recommend.

On my LIFE is the most bullsh•• platform ive EVER used. This cr•p has to be made with open source code and a dream. Dont even try make an account, had me making it 6 times.
Junior Program management
My review relates to how the junior programs are run. They have introduced a 50 weeks programs meaning that courses run continuously through summer and those who are leaving still must pay if they want to retain the spot. This is basically a way to tax parents, and then they pretend to be community friendly.
Referral exercise circuits
I have been using the referral exercise classes for 6 months now and found them to be very effective in building my fitness levels after a replacement knee sometime ago. Lorraine the instructor works hard to deliver a range of exercises in circuits. I recommend it for any age group because you can exercise at your own pace within the plan for that session. I am very grateful.
Only if there aren't other options
I've been with everyone active now for about four years and it's hard to really say it's been a pleasant time. The Everyone Active gym in my area is the only gym within a few miles so it's really the only option.
The gym itself only opens at 6:30, which isn't great if you've got a day job you need to get to. It's always a bit of a rush in the morning.
The equipment is old and constantly out of order.
They insist you use the app to get into the gym, only it doesn't actually work most of the time so you struggle to get inside. If you happen to change mobile phones and don't contact them about it your app won't recognise your login and you won't be able to get in either. I have to always just hope that a staff member is nearby the door, because almost every time I need to call them over to let me in. Luckily they usually are near the door because almost every person visiting the gym has this same problem.
The price has of course also steadily been going up...with no improvement to any of the services.
The only saving grace, but this is because of the area and not Everyone Active, is that the staff are all really nice and lovely.
first class welcome
First the receptionist then Ben from the membership team were very welcoming. Ben is very professional and helped setting up my membership, demonstrating how to use it whilst indicating he and any member of staff would remain available for help on my induction visit tomorrow.
He is to be commended on his tenacity as he did not give up when I cancelled a couple of times and was still patient and smiley and helpul when I finally turned up! 5 stars first impressions!

I have used this centre at Vale Farm for many years, ever since moving into the area in 2006, and have always found it welcoming and well maintained. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to keep fit and healthy.
GREAT CENTRE!
The centre is great and staff always welcoming and helpful. The instructors are always friendly and give alternatives for those with injuries. So five stars on this side.
My only issues are with head office who never respond to questions and seem to be hiding behind the centres. If you pay your subscription then you should receive the service no matter the level in the organisation. It is common courtesy to receive a response, especially from the CEO
Scam on no show
Still no response regarding a no show charge which is incorrect I even had the help from a receptionist at another site to log it through the app ….think this qualifies as a scam
Temperature
There is obviously an issue with the air-con, everyone has been complaining for months. Temperature regularly sits around 30 degrees. Currently at 44 degrees. Must be breaking some regulations.
Update - 23rd June, currently at 44 degrees inside the gym.
Westcroft has a strict £4 no‑show…
Westcroft has a strict £4 no‑show policy, and that’s fine — I’m happy to pay when I genuinely miss a class. Recently, I was charged £4 for a no‑show and I simply asked if it could be removed considering the situation with the recent instructor no‑show incident.
Around 30 members were left waiting for a class that should have been cancelled. The instructor had already called reception to say she wasn’t coming, but that information was never passed on to us. No update, no apology — just a group of people standing around for a class that wasn’t happening.
My £4 charge was correctly linked to a different class, and I didn’t dispute that. I only asked for it to be removed as a gesture of fairness, given that members are held to strict standards while staff errors go unacknowledged.
The request was ignored.
The classes themselves are great, but the communication and accountability need serious improvement if they expect members to follow the rules so closely. A simple £4 credit could be added to members account to make it fair rather than ignoring us.
Don't join if you want to do classes
Lovely leisure centre, but dont join inf you want to regularly take classes... Most are over subscribed...eg Body Balance class iwith 40 places had 27 on the waiting list to attend. Several of us have complained over the past year that there are not enough classes, even though the gym studios are often empty. a recent Tuesday 8am class is welcome but does not address the general lack of provision.
Excellent gym introduction by Olly
I have just joined Eastwood Leisure Centre and had an introduction session for weights in the gym given by Olly. He was excellent. He understood where I was coming from as a runner losing upper-body muscle mass with age, and led me through a set of balanced, holistic exercises to support my running and develop upper-body strength. He explained and demonstrated everything clearly and ensured I was doing each one properly. After decades not setting foot in a gym, I am feeling confident to start my fitness journey now.
Honestly bring it back to council ownership!
Honestly, the council giving this away to this company to run, is massive shame. We have started going to Tiverton now. This is because the pool is cold. And the booking system and website has been designed by someone that has no clue on customer journey or ease of access. Timetable? what timetable? you have to spend ages filtering through different options to find out if something is on, and even then its incorrect.
The fact we have to avoid using the 2 pools in Taunton because its sooo badly run, is super frustrating.

I had a wonderful experience at Horfield leisure Center
I’m disabled and so is my friend , the staff were welcoming , patient , took time to explain everything to us and so helpful.
The lady at reception was great , thank you! We also visited the cafe the staff really went the extra mile I have shakey hands due to my disability and a lovely young lady carried my drink to the table for me. We felt very welcome and we will be back!
Thank you again to a fantastic staff team !

Facilities are good however if you pay £55 a month for a membership and want to use the swimming. Be prepared to get a £4 no show charge even if you go.
Not only have I been wrongly charged I now can not access any facilities until I pay it. Also called to query this and was on hold for an hour
One area where Taro could improve is by…
One area where Taro could improve is by reducing or eliminating the use of MSG (E621) in their dishes. While some diners don’t mind flavour enhancers, others prefer restaurants that rely solely on natural seasoning. Offering MSG‑free options or clearly labelling dishes that contain E621 would make the menu more transparent and appealing to a wider range of customers.
MSG (E621) is considered safe for most people, but a small number may experience short‑term, mild reactions sometimes called “MSG symptom complex.” These effects are not dangerous, but they can be uncomfortable.
MSG (monosodium glutamate) is a flavour enhancer used in many cuisines. It’s not a preservative — it boosts savoury/umami taste. It’s not good for even those that don’t have allergies and put in food to make you want more so avoid
Enjoy the exercise classes
Enjoy the exercise classes. Lots to choose from.
The booking system needs changing. Classes get booked up the week before and then people cancel at the last minute with only a couple of hours notice. It makes planning very difficult if you don’t know whether you’ll get a place until the last minute
The website is extremely poor and…
The website is extremely poor and barely usable. The app is not great either, but the user experience on the website is genuinely awful.
I selected Ponds Forge in Sheffield, chose the session I wanted, and then decided to check other available sessions. There was no clear “back” button on the page, so I used the browser’s back button. I then found a suitable slot and completed the booking.
Only afterwards, when I checked the booking in the app, did I realise that the leisure centre had automatically reset to the first option on the list — Abbey Leisure Centre — instead of staying on Ponds Forge, which I had originally selected.
As a result, I paid for a session at the wrong leisure centre. This is a serious UX issue: the site should not silently change the selected location during the booking process.
Unfortunately, this is not the first problem I have had with this app and website. The whole system feels unreliable, confusing and badly designed.
