I came in today for my MOT, and as someone who has no idea about cars, I'm always greeted with friendly staff and all recommended work is explained thoroughly to me. I've been coming to this garage for years and have never had a bad experience. Happy customer!

F1 autocenter St Albans worst garage in uk, I had 4 tyres fitted and alliegment done, and after 3 days I had a flat tyre, couldn’t lose wheel nuts for change it with spare wheel, I’ve been back to garage and they couldn’t lose 2 wheel nuts (tieghtened by them) so I had to go to an specialist to change those 2 nuts tightened, tyres and alliegment was paid online couple days before went to them for fitting and in day I supose to fit it the guy who did job charge me extra 50£ cash (reason they were so busy). Appointment for all this was made online when I made the payment, couple days beforewent to them. It cost me 1 day and another 100£ for those 2 wheel nuts tightened by F1 autocenter. Name of guy who did job is Catalin.

Took my Sons VW Polo to my local F1 autocentre in St Albans to have the battery tested as I suspected it the be faulty. The manager tetsed the battery and diagnosed that the battery was faulty. I purchased a replacement from my local Euro Car Parts. I returned and the manger kindly put the new battery on the car for me. I cannot thank him enough. I would highly recommend F1 Autocentres for going above and beyond the service that is the norm

They were able to for me in within a couple of days and did a great puncture repair saving me time and money. Thank you!

I arrived for my so called appointment and was told that I would have to reschedule as they had no staff 😞😞 Manager on his own. I'd already called twice before & tried Stevenage as nearest to place of work 😞

Getting 2 tyres changed proved a massive effort - took two booked appointments and eventually more than 90 mins! During the last 30 mins I watched 2 mechanics wander around chatting although there were 2 cars up on ramps and 2 cars (including mine) on wheel jacks. A temporary manager called in to help out was as helpful as possible and appeared to be the only one working. Reason given for delays....shortage of mechanics and too many bookings. I'm considering going elsewhere in future. GET A GRIP MANAGEMENT!

Minor oversight when new tyres fitted - they promised to sort when I had time to go back. 3 or 4 months later, I finally go back in, and they sorted the issue, no quibbles and did the puncture repair I needed, no charge, as goodwill for their previous oversight. I've used this F1 for 2 family cars (MOT's and tyres purchased online) for 5+ yrs now - always good prices, and always good service. Any issue/complaint is an opportunity to 'recover brilliantly' - and they did not miss the opportunity. Definitely recommend F1 in St Albans - Thanks team.

I just bought a BMW 116i from a used car dealer. My over all impression was that the car was in good condition but I didn’t feel that the dealer had been honest with me in regards to the car. A friend recommended that I go to Formula One Auto to get an interim service to have the car checked. I booked my interim service with Sam at the St Albans location. Sam was honest and kind. He had the service technician do an oil and filter change for me and advised me that my rear disks and brake pads needed changing. He also recommended an alignment as there was some excessive wear on the outer edge of the front passenger tire. Sam showed me my old discs and brake pads and the tire tread. The rest of the car checked out ok. I’m so grateful for Sam’s help and am happy to know that my car is safe for me to drive.

Very helpful, good communication, seen on time, car ready on time, would use again.

The staff were extremely helpful and professional and the price for my tyre change was great value for money. I would certainly recommend using their services.

Manager Dom and Mechanic Jack were extremely helpful. We were tourists on our first road trip and noted a flat tyre. We were told by different shops that they couldn't help us and were referred to Formula one shop in St Albans. We were very grateful to Dom and Jack as they were able to go the extra mile and squeezed time to help us out!

Dominic squeezed us in last minute when I got a bad puncture in and out in no time very happy

Easy to book in MOT. Failed on a bulb but they did everything they could to sort the problem and passed it no problem. Lovely guy too.

Ordered (Saturday) 2 RFT tyres delivered through an online website. Upon confirmation from the website about tyre delivery when I went to Formula OneAutos, Hatfield Raod, St Albans centre the reception told me (Tuesday) that the order is literally received 1 hour ago but still the tyres are not delivered. Trusting his word I have rescheduled the tyre fitting for the following Saturday @ 9am. On Saturday I was sharp on time F1 team took a little longer to book as they have received the first order from that website. Thinking Fair enough I handed over the car keys and waited in the waiting room. While waiting I observed that the technician tried a few attempts to open the nut bolt. Finally, he gave up quite quickly and told me that he was unable to open the wheel nut as it was too stiff and if he try to open it, he might damage it and suggested to get it opened by some external mechanic. Upon my enquiry, he quickly handed me over a number of a guy who can visit my place and unbolt the wheel nut for me and might roughly charge £120. I felt a little awkward but continued considering that I am not a subject expert. Later I took it to someone else, he tried to open it once and realised it is stiff, so the smart guy applied some WD40 kind of spray and was comfortable opening the wheel nuts with his hand tool. He didn't even use any power tool to open it. Surprisingly this could have been done conveniently by F1 guy. Anyways I called them again to rebook for tyre fitting, initially, the receptionist told me they are very busy for another 4-5days and do not have any slots available but things changed as I told him that I want all 4 wheel alignments to be done as well, so he was immediately ready and gave me the slot of 2.30 pm (Sunday). Sunday when I went the garage was literally empty no cars were there. Nevertheless, they did my tyre change and wheel alignment and charged the quoted price. I was ok till now. Learning from my past experience I have asked for a Wheel alignment report and the receptionist told me he is unable to print it as the system is new and he isn't trained for it. I felt quite unprofessional, normally you get the report without even asking for it. Anyways upon my request he agreed and confirmed that it was emailed to me but might take a little long to receive due to their low server speed (This was another story made up), till date I haven't received that email. The invoice email is received by not the report.
Anyways didn't want to spoil the mood of my family by further delaying so I drove from the garage directly to the south to enjoy the sunny evening. As soon I approached M25, my steering started vibrating very dangerously. I pulled my car and called the F1 garage he said we did everything best, and that might be a fault with the suspension (Another story), I offered to return and get it checked but then the receptionist said everyone is gone as it was already 3.45, normally they close at 4.30-5 pm... Finally, I had to cancel my plan and decided to take the car off the motorway. The next day, when my partner took it to F1, they confirmed that might be due to suspension and quoted roughly £350 to do the job. Understanding my overall experience with the team I have decided not to carry on the job with them. Later I got it checked with my regular local garage, who confirmed that there's no issue with the suspension they have checked it thoroughly and confirmed that the Wheel alignment job by F1 isn't done properly at all.
The complete job of changing 2 tyres and wheel alignment was started at around 2.45 and done by 3.20 that too was done by 1 technician, initially, I thought must be very skilled labour but later it opened all the cards.
Now I am struggling for my refund. They are not even responding to my emails.
I would consider F1 Autos non-reliable, not trustworthy and a WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY

I put my car today in to check tyres as I kept looking pressure. Dave at the desk was very helpful and sorted the issue out for me very professionally. I’d recommend formula one to anyone who needs an honest bit of work done any time.
