Your underwriting has gone to high street mode, everything that you were good for has gone. Now it takes twice as long. As you can tell I'm not impressed.

Its nice to use a company where the underwriters are actual people and listen to the advisers to actively look to help place an application and receive a mortgage offer.

Complete nightmare in evidencing deposit for a limited company needed to provide 2 years of evidence.

The worse lender ever , Nightmare to deal with , wouldn't understand basic underwriting . Never thinking of customer just painful to deal with .

Utter waste of time. Asked for different documents every week and then 8 weeks after application said they'd decided to go against their own criteria and not lend on the current market value. Avoid these time wasters like the plague.

Experienced lender, good rates

This is a product i should not need to write a review on but our experience has been so poor I had too.
We used an agent who recommended fleet (looking at the 5 stars a lot seem to be from man agents whilst the 1 stars are all from customers!). I pulled the plug on our application today. Its been with an underwriter for about one month - this is after a painful 2+ months providing all the info they wanted to get an application to them. As previous reviewers (1 star) mention they keep asking questions. I have worked in insurance for over 45 years so do understand questions/ info is required but Fleet take this to a whole new level. Do not under estimate the depth and silly questions Fleet will ask you. As an example we had to send in tax returns last 2 years. Ok, then can we send in the calculation for the forms, then a letter from accountant, then another tax form. Proof of income - need to see contract in addition to evidence of income etc etc.
We actually started this process in late March 24 with the agent.
I think in the end Fleet run out of questions so just sat on the file. 5 weeks ago we had a Fleet business manager look at our file and they confirmed all info had been provided and told our agent the offer would come within 48 hours. 5 weeks later still no offer. Wasted around £700 in the process as you need to pay for Gateway surveyor ( 2 week wait then give a 6 hour window until day before then 3 hour window then on date of visit came 2 hours before start of the 3 hour survey window!) and a solicitor panel (very expensive costs).
In summary if you or your agent recommend Fleet think twice and read the reviews. The 1 reviews are here for a reason!
I hope this helps and saves you money as so many others have said "we thought it would be ok" but really its not.

As a broker, i enjoy using fleet, their system is simple, underwriting use common sense, but best of all is their BDM support. Josh Parker is amazing - He always answers his phone (Don't underestimate that quality) and can make sense of anything. He has been instrumental in helping me source and key the case i have with them currently 10/10

I would generally not give any reviews but in this case, I thought I should leave a review to alert others which may at least benefit them. Please don't go with Fleet. Response time is absolutely slow. No transparency. Not communicative. They just drag the things.

I would like to give a huge thank you to Stella and Hannah for their invaluable help to get a large portfolio case agreed with credit. We worked as a team and I couldn't have done it without their help. If you want a lender that wants to say yes to your deal, look no further than Fleet Mortgages.

I've had a brilliant experience with Fleet. The speed was exceptional and nothing that was requested too onerous. Naz and Dave are huge assets to the team and are so responsive and helpful, always. THANK YOU!

Fleet has the best BDM team Stella & Hannah, they are amazing, they are always there to answer and guide me, specially my complex cases. I am so grateful to them for their prompt response and guidance.

I have been using Fleet for my clients for years now, and for those cases that arent vanilla/squeaky clean, Fleet are an absolute dream!
Rates are competitive and service is much quicker than most.
I am also lucky enough to have Stella as my field BDM and Hannah as my telephone BDM who are both absolutely brilliant when help is needed! :)

I have been working with Fleet mortgage for the last 5 years and have a good working relationship. what i like is the consistency of the underwriting process and the ability to get results with the help of the BDM's should the case not progress as planned. I would strongly recommend fleet if you want the personal touch.

As a mortgage broker who specialises in some of the more 'quirky' cases, its always nice when Fleet appear at the top of the table as it means I know I will get the support I need to help with this. I also know they are very fair with their underwriting and can accept some quite complex situations. Both of my BDM are extremely happy to help when asked too.

knowledgeable staff, great lender to talk through your case prior to application. Underwriters with the ability to think on their feet. A lender that wants to lend, they will work with the broker to get the result where ever possible.
