I had a terrible experience with Flight Centre South Africa. I requested a beachfront suite for my trip to Mauritius — this was stated clearly and repeatedly. Instead, I was booked into a non-beachfront room, without proper explanation or warning. The consultant used confusing language like “sea-facing but with some palm,” giving a false sense of alignment with my request.
Even after escalating, Flight Centre refused to resolve the issue without me paying R20,000 more, despite acknowledging some fault by changing my room to ground floor at their own cost (which is still not beachfront).
I’ve reported this to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO), who are now investigating the matter. I’m paying for the upgrade out of pocket for now, but expect Flight Centre to refund me if the CGSO rules in my favor.
This is not just poor service—it's unethical and misleading. Avoid unless you want to risk your travel plans being compromised.
