Sofa bed did not arrive on the specific date and time i wanted when paying. Order item from Wickford but informed i lived near Leigh on sea, that they would deliver. At 5.57 on Saturday 9th August i called Leigh explained to the lady all she would say was "human error" someone enter Monday 11th am delivery.... nothing like Saturday 9th between 2-6pm. I mentioned all details were on the receipt again she said that information was relevant, not helpful at all. Told me to call Wickford on Monday for a refund, called Wickford only to be told ive got to go back to store for a refund, so annoyed, cos nowhere does it state that. Would NOT shop at any outlet again nor recommend.

Added reply to your response, you did not arrange for delivery the next working day, Leigh branch said human error booked the delivery For Monday morning, no good to me I’d be at work and I wasn’t offered a refund, I asked for the refund due to you not being at all helpful

A very straightforward purchase, helpful staff Billy was pleasant and helpful.
Sofa was ordered and delivered with in the the 2 week window.
Very pleased with my new sofa highly recommended.

Love my two seater Lauren chesterfield, perfect for the spot I have it in but also wish it was slightly bigger! Beautifully made, super comfortable and the moss green is a lovely shade in person that feels a lot different to every one else take on a green velvet sofa. Delivery was quick, really considerate delivery men who got it into my flat with care and assembled it.

Great customer service, staff were friendly and helpful and great range of items.

The furniture i got from the showroom was great, loved it and the delivery was spot on, everything was perfect no complaints, would love to shop again.❤️

Fantastic quality and good variety of designs. Calcutta Dining table we got looks elegant and is sturdy.

We bought the chairs separately from somewhere else which are slightly low, so might be worth buying the whole set instead

Furniture was set up quickly and professionally, all rubbish was also taken and both men made absolutely sure everything was fitted correctly and I was happy.

I recently bought 2 lamps and a sideboard from furniture outlet Charlton.
When the sideboard arrived it had some screws missing and the door had a chip on it. I rang the store straight away and Amma arranged for it to be replaced at a convenient date for me. When the replacement arrived to my delight it already pre made! Thank you so much for excellent customer service Amma. The delivery guys were also so lovely on both occasions. I will definitely be returning customer!

Furniture was ordered and delivered on the day that they said the guys that bought the furniture in unboxed it put it all together and took every bit of rubbish away with them. Absolutely brilliant service.

I had a great experience with Furniture Outlet, first with Frankie at the Charlton store and then with Billy online. The sofa was great - had two wonderful delivery gents (whose name I’m embarrassed to say I’ve forgotten) - who did a wonderful job of setting it up and clearing up for me. The sofa itself is gorgeous and has had plenty of compliments from guests. I’m very pleased I went with Furniture Outlet Stores.

To be clear I have never purchased anything from here.
I was waiting to reverse off my drive to pick my child up from school, there was an opening - as I reversed off the drive thats when I heard someone on their horn coming all the way up to me. As I proceeded to drive off the truck at this point was inches away from my car (it wasnt as I was reversing, the driver purposefully got close) he then proceeded to tailgate me out of the village until he turned off at a junction. Because he was so close I could see the furniture outlet logo on branding on the truck (it was a 24 plate)

Upsetting behaviour and not something I would expect while this person is working and representing your brand.

I havent purchased from here but now it seems I may not in future.

I was given valid and helpful information about products which guided my purchase. All this kind assistance was provided by a staff called Amma who was super brilliant.
I recommend anyone to visit this store based on my experience.

We purchased both a 3-seater and a 2-seater Belmont sofa from Furniture Outlet Dagenham Branch. Unfortunately, just two months after delivery, the 3-seater developed a fault and stopped reclining back fully. It was collected for repair over three weeks ago and since then, we have received NO clear communication or update regarding its return.

Despite numerous follow-ups via phone and email, we have only been met with vague responses and repeated false reassurances. Each time I contact your team, I’m told that “someone will call you back.” Eventually, after weeks of chasing, I was informed that “Billy, who arranges deliveries, will be in touch as the sofa has already been repaired.” Yet, no one has ever followed up, and we are still without our sofa.

As a family of six with three young children, this prolonged delay has made our day-to-day life unnecessarily difficult. We are now on week four without a functional large sofa and the complete lack of transparency and accountability from your customer service team is extremely disappointing.

At this point, I genuinely regret purchasing from your company. The quality of your after-sales service has been unacceptable and I would not recommend your brand to others based on this experience.

I visited the Charlton Branch few days ago after a friend recommended the shop, I loved the place, lovely furniture but unfortunately had a really unpleasant experience. While browsing, I witnessed a male staff member burp loudly on the shop floor. It was really off-putting — even the other staff seemed visibly uncomfortable and bothered by it. It completely ruined the atmosphere.. Definitely not what I expected.

Misleading information, unsafe products, and complete disregard – avoid this company!

On May 24th, I ordered a bunk bed (£459) and two mattresses (£358) from Furniture Outlet. The entire experience has been a disaster:

The bunk bed is not recommended for children under 6 years old, something that was never mentioned to me at the time of purchase, even though I made it clear it was for a young child.

I specifically asked if the ladder could be fitted on either side and was told yes. This turned out to be untrue – the ladder can’t be mounted the way I need it, making the bed unusable in my child’s room.

The mattresses I was sold are too high for a bunk bed, which creates a serious safety risk. Again, I was not warned about this, and the staff clearly didn’t know (or didn’t care) about basic safety standards.

I contacted them immediately and requested a full refund and free collection, but I’ve been completely ignored ever since – no response, no help, no apology.

⚠️ As a mother, I find this not only disappointing but dangerous. They sold me products that are unsafe for children and misled me during the purchase.

Do not buy anything from Furniture Outlet. They have zero customer care and absolutely no responsibility for what they sell. Save yourself the stress, money, and risk.

Thank you for your reply, but I must strongly disagree with several of the statements made, as they do not reflect the reality of my experience.

Before purchasing the bunk bed and mattresses, I made sure to consult your staff about every detail – including mattress suitability, ladder placement, and overall safety. I was very clear that the mattresses I was buying were to be used specifically with the bunk bed, and no one informed me at the time that they would be too high or non-compliant with safety standards. If your staff knew the mattresses were not appropriate, why did they still sell them to me instead of recommending the proper ones?

As for the ladder, I asked specifically if it could be mounted on the left side, and I was assured that it was reversible. However, once the bed arrived, it turned out the ladder cannot be fitted on the left as promised. This is a serious misrepresentation and has affected the safety and usability of the bed in our space.

Additionally, I have written email communication from your team stating that I could return one mattress for an exchange – but only at my own cost, or return the items for store credit only. This is unacceptable given that I was misadvised at the point of sale.

To make matters worse, I personally visited your Dagenham store three times, trying to resolve this issue calmly and respectfully. Despite my efforts, your team has repeatedly refused to acknowledge their mistake or provide a fair solution. I was ignored, dismissed, and ultimately left with unsafe and unusable products for my child – and no refund.

It is disappointing that instead of taking accountability, your response attempts to shift the blame onto the customer. I strongly advise others to be extremely cautious before purchasing from your store.

When visiting to browse and purchase, the staff were very polite and helpful.
We purchased a recliner sofa, matching riser recliner chair and a dining table and four chairs.
It was not explained that these items would not be put together by delivery people so upon delivery the sofa was delivered in one huge box, the chair in a large box and the table and table legs in two boxes.
I have osteoarthritis and struggled to help my daughter put this together, she had to do most of the work on her own.
When I went to the Colchester branch and questioned this the manager advised that there are two notices, taped on the counter near the tills.
I suggested they might want to explain this to customers as we did not see the notices and were not advised.
When we put the table together the box with the table top was in a wood surround, which I appreciate was for protection but we had the trouble of disposing of this along with all the cardboard.
The fixings had been thrown into the box all separately and we had to go through the packaging looking for then, the nuts were all stuffed with loose polystyrene, which had to be picked out.
I had to make two further visits to the store as there were four suction pads missing, when I got back home the ones we were given were the wrong size so I had to go back to the store again, which took two hours out of my day.
I have recently found out that if you order on the website, they put the furniture together for you!!
As a paying customer, whether you order on the website or purchase instore, surely the items should be put together as a matter of good customer service!
Would not recommend this store.
