Do you really want to bank with them? Personally, once I have paid my dues, NEVER EVER again. I think that any other bank you work with in Turkey is going to give you more benefits and better service than this one. Look at their exchange rate. It's laughable. Their service is abominable, they will not only not help you, but they will also make sure you incur more debt, ensure that your money is not well managed and they are also arrogant. Very poor service overall. And God forbid your salary is paid to this acount. You will be punished. They love to punish their customers. recently, I have had to get credit from another bank because they refused it. They also refused a restructuring, then approved it after I had already gotten the credit from elsewhere. As an expat, I'd advise you to reconsider your options. Bad, bad service overall.

TÃŒrkiye Garanti Bankası A.Å. permitted 67 chargebacks against my business from a single individual, despite overwhelming evidence that the services had been fully provided.
We supplied:
Invoices and receipts,
Over 800 emails showing the client had used the services,
Proof of ID verification and compliance checks,
Even a UK County Court judgment confirming the debt.
Despite this, the bank rejected all of our representations and simply sided with the cardholder. This is not a genuine review process â it is a dereliction of duty.
Allowing 67 chargebacks in such circumstances is beyond careless â it is reckless, damaging, and undermines the integrity of the payment system. The financial harm and wasted time caused to our business are substantial, and the bankâs refusal to engage with evidence shows contempt for merchants.
If you are a business relying on Garanti Bank for payment processing, beware: they have shown they will abandon merchants completely, no matter how strong the evidence is.

I used an ATM in Turkey and had a terrible experience. I inserted my Revolut card, but the ATM had no euros, so I removed my card and went to another ATM. However, I later saw that â¬14 was deducted from my account and sent to Alarko Carriertekbk, even though I never got any money!
I received no receipt, no cash, and no explanation for the charge. This feels like a scam, and I recommend that tourists avoid these ATMs to prevent unexpected charges.

Bank stealing money from its customers
I live in Turkey but are Danish. So sometimes I go to Denmark and because I'm living in Turkey I have my Turkish debit card with me. On the same day th 23 Feb 2023 I used my card 3 times in Denmark. 2 of the transaction went normal from DKK to Tl but the 3 one who was on a petrolstation went wrong . I looked at my account and could see that there was - 2753 tl taken from that . My recipe said 270,56 DKK. I called the petrol company who told me that it was the bank that made the mistake. They took what would have been 1000 DKK. I contacted my turkish local bank and they couldn't explain why . They wrote to someone upstairs in the bank who send a email back saying it was converted to US Dollar. Why on earth should it be converted to USDollar and why for 1000 DKk instead of the recipe on 270,56 DKK? THEY CANT EXPLAIN WHY EVENTHOUGH WE HAVE BEEN THERE MANY TIMES NOW. I FEEL THAT THE BANK HAVE BEEN STEALING MY MONEY FOR NO REASON. AT NO TIME THEY APOLOGIES AND GIVE ME THE MONEY BANK. ITS 2000 TL THAT THEY JUST PUT IN THEIR POCKET.ð¡

Disappointing Experience with Garanti BBVA: Inability to Resolve Account Issues and Security Concerns
I have had a frustrating experience with Garanti BBVA that has lasted for more than five years. I suddenly couldn't use the mobile application for unknown reasons, and when I went to the bank, nobody could solve the problem or offer any help. In 2019, I finally had enough and decided to close my account entirely.
Unfortunately, I now find myself in a situation where I need to reopen an account with Garanti BBVA to receive my salary from a new company. However, when I visited the bank to do so, the officer informed me that the transaction was discontinued for security reasons, and there seems to be no solution whatsoever.
It's incredibly frustrating to have such a longstanding issue with my bank and to have no one be able to offer any help or support. I understand that security is essential, but there must be some way to resolve the issue and allow me to open a new account to receive my salary.
Overall, I cannot recommend Garanti BBVA based on my experience. I hope that they can improve their customer service and find a way to resolve issues like mine in the future.

Iâm not sure how things work in Turkey but this is my biggest regret that I decided to work with Garanti BBVA. Thereâs no point of contact that you can address your issues with. Customer service have no idea what I am asking about, cannot make any transactions between my main bank account and Garanti BBVA because of the issue from their end and when I send the helpticket through their website thereâs always an automated emails with the update ânothing is wrong from their endâ as if problem solved!
Why I cannot email a person or why when I make a call âcustomer serviceâ advising that this is not a thing that they could be of help.
This is the biggest joke that I cannot reach out to anyone to solve the issue that obviously happening from their end. Nobody is being of help, automated messages not being of help either!

I received American Express The Platinum Card, they informed that I won't have a fee first year. Just 30 days after, they charged me 2000 lira for card maintenance service which I have been told it should be free. I contacted the head office of the bank and complained about the situation, they offered me American Express Reward Points instead of refunding the maintenance fee. Then, I told them I will go to court with this, they cancelled my card and paid money back after this information. Similar situations continuously occurred in Maltepe Carsi Branch of Garanti Bank because of their misleading company employees.
