After searching several stores for aâŠ
After searching several stores for a particular champagne, Moet nectar imperial rose, websites like wine-searcher pro and Google, told me that they had what I was looking for. 9 bottles in total.
The average price was $70 but needed them that day because of my work, and they were advertised on the website at $89.99 with a 10% discount with the purchase of 6 bottle or more.
I called the store and was told that, in fact, they had 9 bottles available. I told Adam, the person who answered the phone, that I would come by in a couple of hours to pick the up. I offered to pay over the phone, but was told that it would be easier if I just came to the store.
Around 7pm that night, 8/18/2021 walked by the store and purchased the champagne.
The store manager, one other than Adam, came downstairs, and seemed as if he was "teaching" Adam how to run the sale. They packed 6 bottles in a cloth bag and was told by the manager that he could, in fact, fit all 9 bottles in the one cloth bag. I told him that it would be impossible got the bag to hold the wight and asked for an additional bag. The total purchase was $953.00.
I paid with my Amex, in a rush, as I was running different errands that evening.
I was sitting in my car trying to arrange some of my shopping and happened to look down at the receipt. I was charged $2.99 for each bag that was given to me and the champagne had been rung at $99.99 a bottle.
I went immediately back to the store and told Adam that there had been a mistake on the price and I wanted rectified. I also told him that , had I know they were going to charge me for the bags, I would have opted for a free bag instead.
The first thing that Adam told me was that plastic bags were banned for over 2 years, had I not known that. I told him that no one had informed my about an additional charge and that he had to change the price for the bottles.
Without looking, I was told that the price was correct. I pulled their website on my phone and showed him that, in fact, the price per bottle was $10 dollars cheaper and I wasn't given the discount. He asked to see their website on my phone. He kept scrolling up and down and, finally, said that he was going to talk to the manager., the same person who helped him ring my purchase.
He came back after a few minutes to let me know that the manager was coming.
After 10 minutes of waiting, the manager finally came down and asked what the pronblem was.
After I explained, once again, that they charged me a different price than the website, he proceeded on letting me know that what I purchased was different than what the website said.
We went over what I had bought vs what was advertised and was identical. I told them that it was false advertising and they had to sell me the champagne at the price on the website.
HE then told me that , because of COVID, the champagne was very hard to come by and I told him it was not my problem. He kept refreshing the screen on my phone and I found it very odd that he was doing that. After a couple of minutes, still holding my phone, he said "ha ha! I told you the price we charged you was the correct price!". I looked at my phone and their website was ow showing the price per bottle at $111.99 with a 10% discount for 6 bottles, putting at $99.99 as I was charged.
I was fuming. I had taken a screen shot of the website, before I gave them my phone and had proof that they were cheating the system.
The manager, obviously, while he made me wait for 10 minutes downstairs, changed the price on their website to prove that I was mistaken. He said to me that I had 2 choices: he would either refund me the price of the bags or he would refund me the entire purchase and was not willing to honor the price that was on the website.
I asked for my money back and asked for the manager name, which he refused to give.
They are thieves.....I have proof of the price, as well as proof of the same matching price on other websites featuring their store.
Let me know if I can send them to you. I real scam.
