I am leaving this review following a severe incident regarding a complete failure to provide functional access and the discriminatory service I experienced at this restaurant. Their conduct represents a direct and unacceptable breach of the Equality Act 2010.
When I raised a formal complaint, the management team was blatantly dishonest and completely fabricated a claim that they had spoken to me at the time I faced the access issues. Furthermore, they have consistently failed to meet promised deadlines to resolve the matter. In order to secure evidence of their failings, I submitted a Subject Access Request for the relevant CCTV footage and internal investigation records.
Because of their continuous refusal to engage constructively, I issued a formal Letter Before Action to GDK International Limited. Their management has chosen to completely ignore this legal ultimatum.
Since they have failed to provide an accessible environment and have actively ignored pre action legal protocols, I am now forced to proceed with formal court litigation. I strongly advise anyone who requires functional access or expects basic adherence to consumer and equality laws to avoid this establishment entirely.

Customer service being non-existent, unable to get orders right, and one of the craziest things, if you pay by card and an item isn't available (despite showing otherwise if ordering online), they won't refund you.
I had an complaint outstanding for over two months due to constant issues after each visit. It took that amount of time for the head of operations, Mr Qadeer to response. He was completely ignorant to my concerns & did nothing to rectify them.
Also, the app makes things 10x worse - it just doesn't work, which is unacceptable in 2026. Just look at the reviews on the Play store.
Bottom line, avoid them!

Tried a few items, typically the OG has been a firm favourite! Really quick table service, milkshakes are delicious, everything has always been spot on! Misha was our server last night, and was extremely pleasant!

I ordered a delivery from GDK Bournemouth this evening and was very disappointed with what I received.
When I opened the box, the portion size was extremely small, containing only a small amount of meat and a few chips. For the price paid, I do not feel this represented good value for money.
I have photos of the meal and was surprised that such a small portion was sent to a customer. As this was a delivery order, I only discovered the issue once the food arrived at home.
I have enjoyed GDK in the past, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I hope GDK will review its quality control and portion consistency to ensure customers receive the standard they expect.

A girl came and sprayed some kind of solution on the table... keep in mind that there were small children sitting at the table! I visited **German Doner Kebab (GDK), located at 372 Bethnal Green Road, London E2 0AJ**, shortly after opening time, and the restaurant was very quiet. In fact, there were no other customers besides us. The atmosphere was calm, clean, and pleasant, which I appreciated.
My first interaction was with a member of staff who greeted us warmly and professionally, making us feel welcome. I asked whether cash payments were accepted, and she answered clearly and politely, "Yes, you can." Her response was professional, appropriate, and left me satisfied.
My second interaction occurred after receiving my food. Unfortunately, the meal was served very cold. When I raised the issue, I felt that the initial response was somewhat dismissive. At one point, it seemed to be suggested that the food may have become cold because I had started eating the fries first. While I understand that misunderstandings can happen, I did not feel that my concern about the temperature of the meal was fully acknowledged.
My third interaction left a more positive impression. I could see that the staff member was doing her best while balancing customer service responsibilities and management expectations. I politely asked whether she could pass my feedback on to the chef and management rather than having me escalate the matter myself. Without any hesitation or argument, she immediately made a sincere effort to help. I witnessed her promptly approach the chef and convey my message. The chef then stepped slightly forward in the kitchen where he could clearly see me.
Finally, I was informed that the chef would be happy to prepare and serve a fresh replacement meal. The chef appeared willing to address the issue and make things right.
Although I was disappointed that the food was initially served cold, I appreciated the genuine effort made by both the staff member and the chef to respond to my feedback and resolve the concern.
Overall, the atmosphere was excellent, and the staff demonstrated professionalism and a willingness to help. However, improvements in food quality control and serving temperature would significantly enhance the overall dining experience.

I am a regular customer and visit this GDK Gravesend location frequently with my colleagues because it is close to our workplace.
Today (6 June 2026), I ordered a quesadilla and waited for my food while watching the preparation area through the kitchen window. There were two staff members in the kitchen and one female staff member serving customers at the till.
I watched the staff member at the till handle customer payments, touch cards and the card machine, and then come over to finish my order. She cut my quesadilla and placed the pieces into the bag with her bare hands.
I did not see her wash or sanitise her hands before touching my food. I immediately asked, âHow is it possible that you are touching my food after handling payments without washing your hands?â
I was shocked and disgusted by what I had just seen. For me, this is a basic food hygiene issue. As a result, I left without taking the food because I no longer felt comfortable eating it.
I have been a regular customer for a long time, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. I hope management takes food hygiene standards seriously and ensures staff follow proper hand-washing procedures before handling ready-to-eat food.
