Our offer was accepted in March, and we only completed eight months later — an unacceptably long delay caused entirely by Gibbs Gillespie’s failure to do their job properly.

Communication was consistently awful from start to finish. We were left in the dark, repeatedly chasing updates that never came, and every response we did receive was just another excuse.

Many staff were rude and dismissive. No one seemed to care about us as buyers trying to navigate an already stressful process. There was no empathy, no professionalism, and no accountability.

The situation worsened when they gave us the wrong keys on completion! They did not care at all, were completely unwilling to make it right, and we had to jump through endless hoops to resolve something that was entirely their mistake.

As someone who works in property management, I understand how this process should work and this was the exact opposite. I’ve detailed all of their failings here, and when it is time to add a new property, my company will not touch Gibbs with a ten-foot pole.

This whole experience was unnecessarily stressful, frustrating, and exhausting due to their total lack of accountability.

If respect and professionalism matter to you, look elsewhere.

From the start Gibbs-Gillespie dealt with my sale in a calm, professional and very friendly way. The agent assigned to me set out their terms and talked me through the process with no pressure to choose them. I felt able to call to ask questions when I needed to. The agent also visited me at home to help me with online matters that I found difficult. Everything was done to make the process as easy as possible for me. I would definitely recommend them.

We bought a house that was offered by them, they helped us complete very fast by chasing different parties for us, we completed in less than 1.5 months!
They also helped us get more information and were clear with us from the beginning, would definitely recommend dealing with them.

I found the Ruislip office to be very communicitave and helpful throughout the process. Our estate agent, Peter West, was happy to explain decisions and their reasoning in depth with me, as I have a lot of experience with estate agents and have been burned more than once.
Luca hs been utterly priceless! I couldn't understand why we were allocated a Move Manager, but throughout this process of probate and inept solicitors he's has effectively been hearding cats, and keeping everything moving! He as been open, communicative, persistent and patient and very much recommended!

I had a very disappointing experience with Pritesh at Gibbs Gillespie, from the property viewing stage right up to moving in. I expressed interest in a property nearly a month in advance to ensure everything would be ready for my move to London and the start of my new job, but the process was chaotic and frustrating.

The Gibbs Gillespie portal was faulty and caused significant delays in verifying my details. It repeatedly showed incorrect information about my employment status, making it difficult for Pritesh to believe my explanations. On multiple occasions, Pritesh accessed the wrong profile and provided me with irrelevant information, which only added to the confusion.

As the moving date approached, I still had no confirmation that the deal was finalized. This uncertainty forced me to start exploring alternative options, which was incredibly stressful. Throughout this ordeal, the blame was conveniently shifted to the landlord, with claims that they were taking time to approve documents—something I found hard to believe.

On the day of moving in, I asked Pritesh for some flexibility to meet me at the property to hand over the keys, as I had a removals van ready to unload my belongings. Instead, I was told I had to visit the Gibbs Gillespie office to provide my passport for photocopying. This delay meant I had to unload everything myself despite having paid for the service.

After moving in, my attempts to contact Pritesh about unresolved issues—such as rusty locks and the lack of professional cleaning—have been ignored.

If you're looking for a new home, I cannot recommend Gibbs Gillespie based on my experience. The lack of organization, poor communication, and lack of accountability made this process unnecessarily difficult.

Recently exchanged contracts on a house advertised through Gibbs Gillespie, our journey hasn't been the smoothest but Luca has always kept us updated with the latest information and chased up relevant third parties when required. I hope the need to do this again is a long way off but when the time comes I would happily use Gibbs Gillespie again.

Quick sale and efficient to have separate Move manager to see through process to exchange.

Gibbs Gillespie Ruislip have been absolutely outstanding. Their service, politeness, speed, and honesty has been fantastic. Luca, Sam and George have helped me sell my great aunts home, also helped deal with a flood and been so understanding and kind. Honestly I wish all estate agents would take a leaf out their book. We had a very positive experience Gibbs, in particular with Luca. He was very on the ball during the crucial stages of both our purchase and sale was keeping us updated almost daily, which really helped given the stressful nature of moving house. My experience with Gibbs has been great, the acted as the middleman between us and a house we were buying in Harefield. We had a fantastic experience throughout the process. First our experience was with Ian who showed us the house, then Matt who handled the offer and negotiations and Luca who took us through the whole process to completion. I have to give Luca a special mention as we were in daily communication. He chased all solicitors including our buyer who was at the bottom of the chain and got the deal over the line. Without him being as proactive and on it, I don't think we would have completed yet. The whole office made this a fantastic experience and I wouldn't hesitate to use them if we look to sell again. Big thanks to everyone involved helping us to secure our dream house.
