I am very disappointed with this company.- Guardian Carers. I would not recommend. I used the company to take on a carer who was very good- no complaints- however my carer was deported despite being told that his paperwork was in order- I had paid Guardian Carers 14% of his yearly salary in advance as their fee for this carer. However, as my carer was deported which was out of my control the company refused me a refund of this advanced fee already paid- over £6,000! - despite the carer only being with me for a month. I contacted the Citizens Advice - who agreed it was a usual situation and could see no reason why as a goodwill gesture why they would not refund the difference that I had paid. I received no response with regards to this from Guardian Carers- as I was advised to send an email to cancellations @ guardian carers. I think they are unprofessional- and their fee of 14% of a yearly salary for an unskilled worker- ie: no professional qualifications required is very high.
Furthermore Guardian Carers say they do not give refunds! However they would offer another carer. For my circumstances this would not work as my husband has Dementia and he had already bonded with this carer and so decided that I did not want the rigmarole of training someone again!
A very disappointing experience. And Guardian Carers- do not care! They are there to collect money!

I am an experienced carer. I have found Guardian to be a very professional and approachable agency to work with. My personal contact Shanice Meunier is particularly supportive.
I have been given a number of opportunities through the agency and I am currently in a long term live-în position with a lovely family looking after an elderly woman who recently had a major stroke.
Following arrival with a new family Guardian follow up and ensure that I am happy and settled and that the client is satisfied. However, when the placement is working well they do not interfere with the care arrangements between the carer and client.
Guardian have a wide client base and my experience is that the quality of the clients and carers is high. I worked with another Guardian carer for 6 weeks and we worked very effectively together and the client was very happy.
I would recommend Guardian to both clients and carers.

Guardian Carers are the best agency I’ve ever worked for, they care about their staff by ensuring all staff get maximum support for job guarantees and they treat everyone equally. I needed a last minute carer for my father. Guardian carers were incredibly responsive, helpful and professional. They sent me through two people to interview for the role within two hours and someone was confirmed before lunchtime - ready to help out the next day. The lady was brilliant and made everyone feel very comfortable. Thank you so much!

Since we needed a full time carer for my 95 year old mother for a prolonged period we thought the Guardian model of hiring the carer direct with a separate service fee for Guardian made sense. Their carer insisted to charge extensive overtime because she had to spend a few minutes in the evening to make sure my mother got safely up the stairs after the TV news even though the carer spent many hours in the day out of the house and many more in her room on the phone. When we asked Guardian to intervene they promised to get the overtime slips but did nothing. Since then no other carer has charged overtime for the same responsibilities.
We complained to Guardian that the carer was overbearing with my mother and making her very nervous and got platitudes..... yes, yes we know better than you.....
Guardian was very proactive in sending proposals for carers but they were not reliable. The first carer we chose used the new salary offer to negotiate with her existing employer. When we interviewed and chose a replacement carer after the first carer quit with a few days notice the new carer suddenly had a family crisis. We finally resorted to another agency after we lost confidence. We were also surprised that the agency takes responsibility to replace an unacceptable carer but not to cover for their leave. You have to sack one carer and hire a new one to get continuous care.

Following on from my previous review. Guardian Carers have replied pls see below:
"In order to bring this matter to a conclusion I am willing to authorise a refund of 25% of the paid registration fee, provided that you remove the negative reviews left for the company on Google and Trustpilot, and undertake not to leave any further reviews"
As you can see from the above evidence it speaks for it's self - AVOID this company by all means.

WARNING…..THE WORST FAKE COMPANY.
it’s all about money.the agency recieve £200 weekly + vat =£240 weekly and place unsuitable carers mostly unqualified with your love ones.
During the course of 4 weeks, my mother has raised blood pressure, suffered a seizure to which NOBODY was notified, the batteries from her call bell ( brand new) had been removed so that mum couldn’t ring for help.No shopping for fresh vegetables and fruit etc done despite a prepaid card available and the shops 5 minute walk away. Filthy dirty environment, mum has developed new pressure areas ( never occurred in 4 years Post stroke).
To recap….Total neglect and abuse.
When telling the agency after driving 300 miles to verify this situation myself, guess what..Not believed despite my husband and a care professional from the go surgery (who I requested to check mum) witnessing this dreadful neglectful abusive form of so called care.
PLEASE EVERYONE STAY CLEAR OF USING THIS AGENCY.IT IS THE WORST.
On a personal note my mother can be difficult at times due to the nature of her stroke … Trained staff should be aware that stroke can somewhat change a persons personality….I cannot see my mother ever recovering from this abuse, she is a shadow of the person she was 4 weeks ago. Tearful, timid, frightened, anxious and above all afraid of who might walk into her home next.
This is THE WHOLE TRUTH PLEASE BELIEVE ME..

This agency caters for both the client and the employee. There is a huge amount of support at every stage within the company in addition they make sure you are taken care throughout your experience I highly recommend this agency as it was really enjoyable experience
