I am thankful to Sunshine Calero at Guardian Carers, I give her 5 stars for her job .I was given an interview and my experience today 5 March 2023.

We live in Williamsburg, Virginia, USA. My wife is wheelchair-bound and we needed a caregiver to assist us when we visit London in April. Through a Google search I found a number of agencies that looked like they could assist us. Guardian Carers responded to my email immediately and Margot Nicasio (an Associate Counselor) quickly became a trusted partner. She listened carefully to our needs and wishes for our trip. She explained Guardian Carers role in the search process. She explained the fees that I would incur for Guardian Carers' services.
She soon began to send us CVs for potential caregivers. It was obvious she had listened to us, because the candidates came equipped with the experience we would want. We selected about 5 candidates and Margot arranged Zoom conferences for us to interview them. The process worked flawlessly, thanks to Margot's obvious preparation. We are thrilled with the candidate we chose and have been corresponding with her in preparation for the trip. Guardian Carers took an immense weight off my shoulders which will allow my wife and I to thoroughly enjoy our trip. I recommend Guardian Carers without reservation (and would have given them a 6 if I could)!

i am very grateful to have found queenie via morgot. queenie is always punctual and friendly and flexible and i am enjoying working with her. yesterday we went to the cinema which was nice to have her with me and we had a coffee. it helps so much to have care around the home as well.

I have been with many agencies but the last 4 years with Guardian Carers is the best!! The team are all very professional and at the same time they build good relationships with their carers. I have worked with many carers from Guardian Carers and they are all of fantastic quality. I really believe that this agency takes good care of both their carers and their clients. Excellent support from Guardian Carers!!! They helped me on my job search and I'm very grateful for my consultant Sunshine for communicating and for her excellent support. I would highly recommend them to anyone who are looking for a care job.

I would NOT recommend this company. Firstly they do not provide care plans or do proper assessments. The verbal comments I gave were largely ignored and the carers were not willing to engage with my mum kindly and collaboratively. They just wanted to take over and do it all their way.
My parents were in a difficult situation and arguing a lot due to the stress. I explained the situation carefully and tried three carers. None of them showed my mum any empathy. In fact they only exacerbated the situation due to ill-advised attempts at coercion and control.
The first carer had personal problems which she was more than happy to discuss. She allowed my mum to exceed the recommended amount of Tramadol with unpleasant and upsetting side effects. She frequently disappeared to smoke. When my mum was clearly unwell she tried to say it was just 'nerves' as she didn't want to lose her job if my mum went into hospital. The second carer had absolutely no empathy and made it clear she thought my mum was an awful person from day one. She called me daily in front of my parents to tell me how dreadful they were. I felt very little relief from the pressure as she offloaded constantly. She regularly shushed my mum and showed absolutely no interest in her. She could be rough in handling. After a week she said she was leaving with no time for us to find a replacement. I had to cover the gap until a new carer arrived. The third and final carer said all the right things at interview then arrived with the same prejudice against my mum, rolling her eyes and refusing to help on occasion. I guess the company had informed her about the previous carer leaving. She spent a lot of time in her room while other people did the work. She was also rough in handling my mum at times. When my mum's lovely cleaners confronted her, she gave them the finger. She said she preferred placements where the client had Alzheimer's and wasn't 'demanding', boasting about staying in their houses doing nothing while they were in hospital.
All the carers branded my mum unreasonable for requesting night-time toilet visits and arguing with my dad who ended up being enlisted as they weren't meeting her needs. She has a stoma and this was explained before they started. They made it clear they didn't want to accommodate this outside specific hours. They demonised my mum, I think partly because one carer informed the next.
Live-in care isn't always easy. Old couples can argue and there is lots of work that needs to be done in building relationships.
Other health and care professionals have shown great skill in managing demanding situations between my parents, dampening down aggression and showing respect and warmth towards my mum in appreciating the difficult health challenges she faces daily and the strain it puts on her mental well-being. Her cleaners can calm her down and get a smile out of her in an instant yet none of these so-called professionals could manage it. By the end of this experience of live-in care my mum was stressed, extremely negative about herself and visibly unkempt, with self-respect diminished. We went to look at a care home and the first member of staff demonstrated all the skills absent in these carers. She talked to my mum with compassion and understanding, calming her down and reassuring her. My mum's entire demeanour changed within minutes.
Beware of hiring so-called carers without the proper checks and procedures in place. I would say a care plan is a must. This was a terrible, damaging experience.

The best agency Ever , very professional Mr Emilio was very helpful and professional during the difficult time I have passed through i do remember Mrs Paula and also Rosa” . Two housekeepers and careers treated me very well during my two surgeries special thanks to Mr Mellela* again .

Attempted to use this organisation but booked somewhere else as needed support with my 85 year old mum.I choose a different organisation through NHS which is supported by CQC..I will receive a refund of my initial registration fee which i am very pleased about.I am pleased i found a good support for mum xx

Guardiancarers are very knowledgeable warm and approachable, they communicate with staff and clients on a regular basis. I would highly recommend them.

Staff are very enthusiastic. Very helpful in every way. They are very knowledgeable on their job. If you have questions, they help you. They assist you which is very helpful.
