I've been with GuitarTricks for a couple weeks now. So, far it's a 5 star experience. But since it's only been a couple weeks, I'll give it a solid 4. I am a recovering drummer (pause for laughter) and have the rhythm thing down. I have been strumming a ukulele for a few years now and have an okay understanding of a fair amount of chords. I started guitar with a book and have learned the primary chords in the keys of G, C, D, A, and E. But when it got to beginning fingerstyle I became aware I needed help with an organized program. My son-in-law recommended Guitar Tricks. The first several segments of the beginner course were fairly easy, but even there I saw I'd developed some bad habits that needed correcting. When I hit the lesson on playing the melody of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star things got real! I very much like Anders Mouridsen's style of teaching. His delivery of the subject matter is nothing if not well thought. He's encouraging and at the same time he makes it clear that progress only comes from being diligent where practice is concerned; he's never heavy handed about it and he's always very positive. That's a hard combination to beat. Provided I stay the course, I can't imagine that I'm not going to greatly improve over the next year.

Great lessons and structure, but the app is a bit slow to load and update status sometimes which feels a bit clunky overall. No dealbreaker but could be better. Might be that it’s better via a web browser.

Jazz theory deep divers took my playing to new heights

I keep emailing customer service ("Contact Us"). I can only use the app on my iPhone 25 Max Pro or my iPad Pro. When I try to log in on my Macbook Pro, I have to "Upgrade"!! ??? I'd like to use Guitar Tricks on a bigger screen, my Macbook Pro.

Hi, I really like Guitar Tricks. I choose an instructor, that explains everything, I'm a slow learner so I have to rewatch the video's. I also watched another instructor, to set up my lessons
It all seems wonderful.

Issues with video lessons timing out during play back. Not connectivity issues with my internet. I believe problem is with your server.

I started with the Fundamentals 2, since I knew my cowboy chords and how to play a little, I am 74 years old. I am glad I did, because I did pick up on some things in the Fundamental 2 class that I didn’t know. I am a little half way through that. So far it’s been very good, and is helping me stay motivated. My plan is once I get though with the fundamentals 2, is to continue on with the Blues Core lessons. Just a special mention, Kudos to Danie, my customer support Rep. She has been excellent, cheerful understanding, and patient with me.

Coming back to learn guitar after a lot of years away is the only place to go, everything you need to progress is within guitar tricks website, any problems or issues, people are there to assist and help in anyway. Fantastic company and excellent staff who work there and go out of their way to help

I've used Justinguitar beginner course in the past but after a break I wanted a refresher and thought I'd give Guitar Tricks a go as I felt Justinguitar stalled a little when it got to intermediate (though I think he's worked on this). I'm enjoying going through the fundamentals course. I particularly like that when they teach you something that they then get you to use it in a song context. Playing songs is what it's all about, it's application of knowledge. and I'm looking forward to start the Rock path and trying some song tutorials. I have the app but tend to use the website and I think the GUI could be improved but it's fine for now.

Hi, been a guitar learner for 10 days now! love the whole process of learning guitar. I had a choice between this and music2me or something, and I chose Guitar Tricks because of the pace, of the practice-oriented approach (even though I love theory in general). I started playing right away and it’s difficult to stop playing along with Anders, and I only halt my sessions because it starts to hurt…

I have a hard time playing the C major chord, but my motivation and enthusiasm aren’t going anywhere!

Anyway, I also found GT on Google, the semi-old school way (not an option when prompted to fill out a survey asking that question).

I’m happy so far and it’s SO WORTH THE MONEY!

For real, my dream of many years came true now! Can’t imagine NOT playing guitar 😍🥹

I like the content and feel like I am making progress each lesson. The only complaint, so far, is the slow response time of the website - there is always a delay when I click Next Lesson and I see that the page is starting to load but it takes too long. You can fix that.

Just took up playing at the ripe old age of 61 😊. The app is excellent for a complete beginner like me. Perfect pace and very clear instructions. Have the guitar 1 week with an idea of 4 chords and am slowly learning to change between them. The plan is to practice about 30min every day. So far so good with the app allowing me to go at my own pace and build confidence 🙂

Very good experience with Guitar Tricks from the start. Excellent customer service. The lessons are broken down in a way that makes it easy to learn guitar. I'm really enjoying it too. I commit to 20 minutes per day, which makes it achievable. Highly recommend them.

The teacher (Mouridsen) is very inviting, explicit and provides the details to correct common problems. The course take me through skill training in a gradual and positive manner. My only difficulty is with the red box blocking some of the notations. It needs to be moved superior. I compensate by printing the notations or opening it on another screen. However, it doesn't always scroll, so I have to stop playing and manually scroll or wait for it to change in the video.

So far most has been review and I have skipped over some. Going back over some lessons is always helpful.
I like the suggested songs to learn at each level. The song lessons are put together nicely and easy to follow and they are done at a level that I have learned. Many sites don't teach songs very well or only part of it.
I am looking forward to where I will be in a few months.

I have used GuitarTricks on and off for 18 months, the lesson are great and varied, If you want to make progress a good online resource with feedback if you ask for it. For financial reasons I had to suddenly cancel my subs, and reached out to support and they refunded me with 24 hours, great service and follow

I love these lessons with Anders Mauridsen. He teaches slow enough that I can perform what he is teaching. I can review any lessons whenever I want and can move on to a new lesson when ready. Clearly and thoroughly taught lessons — I give Anders an A+
