Extremely disappointed with experience as first buyers who received a below par, poor service provided by the field team. Special shout out to the office admins Ruby and Chloe for their help, but it’s unfortunate that the poor service provided by the field team has overshadowed their work.

Communication was extremely lacking. I couldn’t believe how difficult it was to get hold of the agents throughout the whole buying process. We bought from a seller living abroad who gave Haart Grays the keys to maintain and sell the property on their behalf. Haart Grays mismanaged the property and it was in a complete mess. Myself and my partner were too deep into the buyer process to pull out.

Please please beware and I would absolutely urge you to do your research before buying a property managed by Haart Grays, especially one where the seller lives abroad.

We as first time buyers are bitterly disappointed at the whole buying process.

I had a very disappointing experience with Haart in Grays as my property managing agent.

They managed my flat from 2022 to 2025, and during that time I paid all required fees, including rent-loss and damage insurance, expecting professional service and protection. Unfortunately, when things went wrong, Haart failed to deliver.

My tenant stopped paying rent for several months and eventually abandoned the property without notice or returning the keys. Despite this, Haart mishandled the situation and the subsequent insurance claim. Due to the way they presented evidence and managed communications with third parties, I was unable to recover approximately £5,600 in lost rent.

To make matters worse, Haart deducted fees for a lock change and a check-out inspection, even though the tenant had caused the situation and no proper check-in inventory had been completed by them at the start of the tenancy.

Throughout the process, communication was unclear and at times misleading. I was led to believe that recovery of the rent loss was being pursued, only to later be told it was not possible. The issue dragged on for months with no satisfactory resolution.

I escalated the matter through their complaints procedure and to the Property Ombudsman, but ultimately received only a £250 goodwill offer, which does not come close to reflecting the financial loss and stress caused.

Overall, I found Haart’s service to be lacking in accountability, transparency, and professionalism. I would strongly advise landlords to carefully consider their options before using this company for property management.

My experience with Haart has been nothing short of outrageous.

My offer on a property was accepted, and I immediately started the mortgage process. The bank simply required some basic amendments to the offer letter — nothing unusual. I informed Haart, fully expecting them to support me as I moved toward completing the purchase.

Instead, without any warning, communication, or chance to respond, they told me the property was sold to someone else. After my offer was accepted. After I had already committed time, money, and energy into the process.

This behavior is completely unethical. It shows a shocking lack of professionalism, integrity, and respect for serious buyers. Haart knew I was fully engaged in securing the mortgage, and still chose to pull the rug out from under me with zero accountability.

They wasted my time, cost me money, and added enormous stress to what should have been a positive step forward in my life.

I strongly warn others to be extremely cautious when dealing with Haart. Their lack of transparency and basic decency is appalling. They do not treat buyers with honesty or respect, even after accepting an offer. I will never deal with them again — and I suggest anyone considering it think twice.

We have received very good service from Amy Cherry. It was quick and efficient and she kept us informed throughout the entire process. We even got a call once we had settled in from her to enquire if everything was good. We recommend Haart Lettings to all friends and family for their excellent service.

Previously I went with Gower Dawes and had a torrid experience in all honesty but not about to revisit this.
I then changed to Haart and was apprehensive as they were more expensive and everyone kept saying all estate agents are the same. Well let me tell you now, they are certainly not. From start to end Haart have been nothing short of amazing. Dan's attention to detail on the photos of my house and also a great video he filmed promoting every aspect of my property.
The only unfortunate bit was that we were in the middle of a interest rate crisis so were up against it. Even so, Haart were sending round viewers after viewers after viewers and working their socks off. Bradley and Katie were bloody amazing and did everything they could to sell my house but we needed a change in the governments stance on the interest rates which thankfully dod eventually happen.

The house then sold and the level of service did not slow down with Rio who is an absolute star pushing solicitors, my buyers, estate agents and more. Rio works an unbelievable amount and takes a pride in her work crossing every T and dotting every I.

I popped into to drop off my keys today and honestly was like a reunion of old friends sharing some laughs and going back over the whole experience.

I highly recommend Haart and the whole team. In my opinion you get what you pay for and with Haart you get even more so worth every penny. Sending big hugs to the whole team and again thank you all so much. 🙏😊

I've been dealing predominantly with Rio-Marie Maddox at the Grays branch in order to buy my house and the service she’s provided so far has been excellent. She’s delivered on his promises and managed to find a dream house quickly! Rio- Marie has been responsive and gets back to me quickly whenever I need an update on how things are progressing. To be honest, the whole team have been great. Will definitely recommend Haart Grays and will use them again!

Zoe Gibbons has helped make a recent sale a smooth, uncomplicated, 8-week transaction with her efficient communication and effective management leaving both us as the vendor's solicitor's and our mutual client with a sense of jubilation.

We look forward in continuing to deliver a level of service scarcely found elsewhere with Haart (and Zoe in particular!) by our side.

Thank you to everyone at Haart but I have to say a special mention to Dan Whybro, he was so informative through the whole process and made the options we had very clear.
Usually moving is a stressful situation but this couldn't have been further from past experiences elsewhere.
We were kept in the picture the whole time and if ever we decide to move again, we know where we will be putting our house on the market.

I just wanted to thank the Haart team in Grays, especially Rio-Marie for her help in the past few months with selling our house. Rio-Marie was extremely proactive and resourceful which made a real difference to the process. Her insight and expertise was invaluable in dealing with challenges along the way. Thank you again for all your efforts is was much appreciated.

Awful experience! Haart Grays let out our property to the worst tenant on the planet. To our horror our flat has been left completely wrecked with mould everywhere. We did not receive any rent for 8+ months and no one at Haart cared or knew that the property had been left empty for so long! A claim was put through to Flatfair by Haart, Haart submitted the checkout report too late so we were only awarded £1100 out of £3800 and believe it or not Haart Grays have the cheek to only give us £800 from it and taken £300 for themselves as a management fee (for doing nothing)! Beyond disappointed, would not recommend!

What can I say about these guys at Haart Grays, the way Sam and his team especially Janice have been brilliant all through the sale of my property, over the years I’ve had some bad experiences from estate agents so this has been a Brilliant experience. I would definitely recommend using these guys, they kept me informed once a week with a telephone call for a chat, Sam arranged everything for me as I don’t live in the area where my property was being sold which was a real weight off of my mind. So glad I chose Haart Grays to sell my house 10 out of 10 Thank you guys.

Charlene Da Silveira was very helpful and efficient when the property I rent had storm damage, she stayed in touch until repairs were concluded.

Totally unprofessional!!! You ask for a property witch they advertise in the evening next day is gone somehow. Then they call you back and explain that it’s available. Then you going for the viewing , you show your interest and somehow the offer form it is sent to late after the agent confirmed that it will be sent in the same day .
My experience with hart agency from Grays it was a complete disaster.
