I recently engaged Grant Hassan and Andrea Ross based in the Inverness office in relation to my marriage separation. Grant dealt with the separation and minute of agreement, whilst Andrea handled the associated conveyancing work for my house settlement.

Both were highly efficient and effective at all times throughout the process and allowed the whole situation to be resolved very quickly for my own best interests. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others, the professionalism and knowledge of Grant and Andrea was faultless in all my interactions with them.

Christina Wason was my lawyer for a claim that's been ongoing since 2019. It's been tough with post accident physio, therapy and more. Since Christina took over my claim, I felt she really 'got' it, given the nature of my freelance employment made the context of the claim a little more complex to understand. I always felt in safe hands and she's managed to secure a settlement that I wouldn't have dreamed of when we first started this back in 2019. She's been communicative and I've always felt in safe hands. Couldn't recommend her high enough.

Just used H&M Inverness to handle a Discharge of Security on our Mortgage. The process was handled by Laura Archibald who I found to be very professional and extremely helpful throughout the affair. What should have been a straightforward task was complicated by a less than professional handling of the process by Clydesdale bank/Virgin Money which led to things being very protracted. Harper Macleod have been my family solicitor since my father died and have been superb to deal with. Their trusts and tax team have been supportive and caring in their dealings with my Mum as she slid into Alzheimer's. Andrea Ross gets a special mention for handling our property conveyancing and has been so helpful, proactive and efficient throughout. Having dealt with property transactions for many years with so many slow solicitors out there - we recommend HM for any such transactions in Scotland - superb service and great team members.

Laura was absolutely incredible. Her professionalism and tenacity were consistent throughout. She kept us informed of every detail no matter how big or small, she summarised everything in layman’s terms so we always understood what was going on, she was always waiting on us – never the other way round (I don’t think she ever took longer than 15 mins to reply to every single email – of which there we're hundreds), and on top of all of that, she genuinely cared about our case and the outcome. Just amazing.

People say that buying a house is a stressful process. For us it was a breeze. Wouldn’t go anywhere else again.

Sadly my insurance company instructed Harper MacLeod to deal with losses after an accident where a 3rd party hit my parked vehicle, and admitted liability.

To be honest Harper MacLeod did not really seem interested in my claim from the start - presumably because there was no personal injury claim for them to profit from.

The claim was handled at various times by three different staff - a Paralegal, a Trainee Solicitor and then an Associate. Each completely contradicted the statements made by the one who had gone before. None of them actually seemed to make any progress dealing with my claim, several emails were never even replied to. When I called out the incompetence to the third claim handler it all went quiet...

By the time one of the Partners contacted me to try and discuss my claim, I had already made the decision not to waste any more time or effort at this company, and I ended up going to a more competent law firm. When I started explaining some of the statements made by the case handlers, the lawyer who ended up dealing with my case successfully actually burst out laughing at how unprofessional and blatantly factually incorrect these had been.

I made sure to inform my insurer that my claim experience with them, particularly in relation to Harper MacLeod, was the reason why I moved all three of my vehicles away from their company.

I had a polite and knowledgeable solicitor who answered my questions in detail everytime. It took almost a year to get the outcome we wanted. I felt however supported and able to make decisions made on his recommendations.
