I had a car reserved for a specific time and when I finally got up to the desk after waiting for 30 minutes I was told the car had an oil change hold on it so I had to wait another 30 minutes to get it released. Once I got the car and drove out of the parking garage into the daylight I could see that the car had not been cleaned. It was left filthy from the previous renters. I won’t be back.

Front office staff was great. Garage team less so. Car's gas tank was nearly empty - on fumes. The low fuel warning was on as I drove out of the garage, so I had to hunt around downtown New Orleans for a gas station before starting our drive. Yes, the contract stated "as is" regarding fuel, but this was a real inconvenience and not the service level one expects of Hertz.

I had a very good experience. Check in and drop off were easily done. The car was in good condition and comfortable to drive even for a long trip such as mine.

Upon renting, I was told to go to the 4th floor to get the car. I was handed the keys by a young fellow who was washing the cars. No agent walked me around the car to check for any existing damage, nor showed me any features like lights or wipers. When I drove away, the CHECK OIL and NO WIPER FLUID lights stayed on for the entire nine days I had the car. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A HUMAN ON THE PHONE FOR HELP AND THAT'S THE WORST PART.

Excellent customer service.

The Hertz Representative was very polite and courteous, explained everything thoroughly and took the time to walk everyone out to point out exactly where to retrieve and return the vehicle. The pick up and return process was seamless.

Great service. Had an issue with loyalty points from my rental but it was resolved quickly over the phone. Rental all went well and agents there were very friendly.

Fuel tank in vehicle was mostly empty .
This was not told before I went to get car and had to come all the way back from garages.
The contract said it had 100% fuel which was clearly false and a lie.
It has approx 5% fuel..
And they charge $10 if you bring back without same as left so they charged some one for bring back empty the I was the one that had to fill it
The nearest gas station was not available to then refuelling so had to drive to another just to leave town
Also fwd sensor was not working and had to be overrides every time

My experience with Hertz was excellent. The agent who assisted me was genuinely helpful and focused on what I actually needed. Unlike many other car rental experiences I've had in the United States, there was no pressure to purchase additional insurance, toll packages, or other unnecessary extras.

I really appreciated the honest and straightforward service. In the past, I've often felt that rental agents were constantly trying to upsell products I didn't need, which can be frustrating and takes away from the overall experience.

This time was different. The process was smooth, professional, and customer-focused. Because of that, I had a great experience and would gladly rent from Hertz again.
