I recently had a very disappointing experience at HiQ Aylesbury and feel compelled to share it. I brought my car in for a full service and specifically asked them to check my cambelt. Here’s what happened:
1. Conflicting Diagnoses on the Cambelt
As I was dropping off the car, I mentioned to one mechanic that I wanted the cambelt checked. Another mechanic, who overheard, immediately claimed (based solely on the sound of the engine) that my cambelt was in bad shape. However, when I returned to collect my car after the service, the original mechanic informed me the cambelt was actually in good condition. This inconsistency felt suspicious and unprofessional.
2. Questionable ‘Faults’ to Pressure More Work
Next, they identified two issues with my car—apparently leaks from the shock absorber and joint arm—and insisted these would cause my car to fail its MOT if I didn’t fix them. Concerned, I took the car for an MOT elsewhere, only to discover that neither of these supposed faults existed and everything was in perfectly good health.
3. Doubts About the Actual Service Done
After the full service, I checked the oil out of curiosity. It was still black and clearly not the fresh golden-brown color I’d expect after an oil change. I’ve seen many oil changes in my time, and this did not look like new oil at all.

All of these incidents led me to believe they were trying to scare me into paying for unnecessary repairs. Being told one thing by one mechanic and something completely different by another—plus the oil situation—made the whole experience feel like a money grab rather than a trustworthy service. I won’t be returning to HiQ Aylesbury and would advise anyone considering this garage to exercise caution and perhaps seek a second opinion before agreeing to any costly repairs.

HiQ Guys are so reliable and trusty. I had 2 cars in at late notice for MOT, Pre booked online Friday night and they called early Saturday morning confirming my time slot!

One of the cars was skeptical as to whether they passed and within 10 minutes of dropping the car off they explained how it would fail before even testing it saving my money and time.

Really helpful and will happily take time out their day to talk and explain to you what is wrong with the vehicle

Very informative friendly service

Staff were very welcoming and fitted me in last minute for DPF regeneration, when I told them the error messages that came up on my car they knew exactly what the problem was and was able to fix it in no time. Thanks!

HiQ were excellent, clutch had completely gone on my car and was totally unable to be driven, they towed it free of charge and brought it back to the garage, changed the clutch and the master cylinder. So far no issues but customer service was great! They also offer flexible payment options for more pricey repairs.

Mot failure but really helpful on getting a pass. I completed the required work and it passed. Very helpful overall.

My BMW series 5 car had gone through flood and the engine got damaged, Chris from HIQ had done a great job with my BMW engine and headlights and it was a quick turn around.
