I went to Holocene for a simple window replacement (the existing one had been broken) and they agreed to use OEM parts for the window. The fitting of the new window was obviously not accurate owing to sounds from outside coming into the car and so I returned for this to be adjusted. However passing cars etc. remained audible and so I went to an independent specialist familiar with my car to get this looked into. They found that the glass used was in fact not OEM and on opening the door up to try and address the position they found that Holocene had butchered the mechanism and damaged the inside door panel. So I seem to have paid for lower quality parts and a fitting that has caused more damage to my car, and then paid for an expert to try and reseat the non-OEM glass as best they could. Very poor experience. An email summarising all of this and asking for recompense was ignored. Do not waste your time or money.

Very personable and friendly customer service with absolute transparency in terms of which issues were essential to resolve immediately and which were less time-critical. The service itself was very timely, reasonably costed, and was done to a high standard.

Be cautious!! I bought my car here a few months ago to sort out my ABS as my regular mechanic was busy. I was happy with the work & price for work.

When I picked up my car the garage mentioned the electrical loom needed repair. I asked how much & the garage said circa £187. We agreed I'd come back in a couple of months to have the repair.

Roll forward to August 2025 & I booked the car in. There were a couple of other issues now, central locking wasn't working & boot wouldn't open. As a result I was expecting total to be a bit more than the £187 quoted a few months earlier, maybe £300 to £400

The garage called me when the car was ready & quoted me £900 + Vat for the job!! I was stunned!! They said the loom repair was far more complicated than expected plus they had to remove & refit the boot latch & door actuator.

I told them they should have called me beforehand to agree the price & work, I had called on the previous Saturday to get an update & they had not mentioned this steep price increase. They conceded this point & dropped their labour by 60 odd pounds.

I ended up paying £1,020.93 in total, 5 times more than originally quoted!!

Be cautious if using this garage, get a quote at the start but also make sure they call you beforehand with any "unexpected" extras. Don't get caught out like me. I won't be going back there and won't be recommending them to any of my friends, once bitten....

I’ve been driving for 30 years and using lots of garages throughout this time.
This is hands down the worst one I have ever had the misfortune to use.
Big talk of great work from the man VJ but some seriously poor work and god awful customer service.
All my dealings with this man caused me great stress.
I couldn’t recommend not using this place highly enough.

I brought my car to pass the Mot test and also for full service when I noticed that they stole a few parts of my car. They thought I wouldn’t find out it’s frustrating. I do not recommend this place at all

This is a pretty professional outfit midway between the local garage and a main dealer. Very responsive and helpful. Diagnosed the problem with my Kia Hybrid properly when the local man thought it was blown head gasket.

I recently had my car (Volvo V70) serviced at Holocene Motor garage on Camden Road and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed with the level of service I received. The staff at Holocene were friendly and knowledgeable. They explained everything that needed to be done a clear and concise manner, and took the time to answer all of my questions. They were able to diagnose and fix the issue with my car quickly and efficiently.

I got my car painted here and I reccomend that people should come here as they have been very professional. These are the people you can trust.

Good to find a new family run garage after my regular one closed down, reassuring to also see a fleet of police vehicles as their customers. Very nice staff, welcoming and helpful giving good advice. Would happily go back to them next year for MOT.

I worked for a Health Service and would have no qualms about recommending this garage to my colleagues there. I found them honest and pleasant to deal with plus Not too expensive. They did a very good job on my car which also came back cleaned and in good order. I rate them a 5 star service.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!
My car always drove like a dream, I came to Holocene in Holloway for one simple job early summer, then low and behold, 2 weeks later my car broke down. I went back after an AA mechanic checked it over and told me I needed my water pump replacing. They told me it had 3 points of failure - pump, thermostat housing unit AND fan (there was NOTHING wrong with either of those before it went in!!!).
They are very expensive, and trust me, you will find more going wrong with your car once you have been to them. Save yourself time and money, and go to a garage you can trust!!!
UPDATE: I have just been on the phone to the police to report them for criminal damage. Because I didn’t do all the jobs they suggested, they put a hole in a hose pipe.

I’m happy to give Holocene Motor Group a 5 star rating and would not hesitate to recommend their services to others. I’ve had four separate dealings with them and on each occasion have found them to be professional, knowledgeable, honest and courteous. Their garage and forecourt is clean and welcoming and they also have a pleasant and comfortable reception area. Their prices are very competitive and I have always found them respectful towards me as a woman. I had always felt nervous about visiting garages but Holocene has given me the confidence to reach out as required. Thank you to everybody at Holocene Motor Group and keep up the excellent work!

First time with Holocene so wasn't sure what to expect. Any doubts regarding quality dispelled as soon as I pulled in: very professional + clearly focussed on retaining your business over the long term. MOT and service delivered in good time. Car left sparkling clean, inside and out. Would highly recommend.

Excellent service and quality of work. Kept to their cost estimate and kept us informed of progress. Unfortunately it took a little longer than first advised due to staff shortages.

The online MOT request did not work; my initial phone call did not get through. But when I rang on Monday, you made an appointment and everything went smoothly from then on, with good communication. I would use you again.
