Only one member of staff on till present had a question about paint was asked if I could wait for 10/15 mins as he couldn’t answer or contact anyone so went to wickes instead

Speedy professional service

Easy process ensured that the 2 10litre pots of exterior paint were in stock for me when I went to store. All ready in a trolley to wheel out to the car boot!

I was able to order and collect at times suitable for me.

I visited my local store to get help with ordering a dining table. Staff were very helpful but advised me to order the item online as click and collect to my local store was not an option on a flat pack self assembly dining table?!
I purchased the dining table on 10th Feb 2024 with the requested delivery date being 17th Feb and paid £20 delivery charge too. The ITEM DID NOT ARRIVE.
I contacted Homebase customer services when the table hadn’t arrived to be told I needed to wait a further 3 days then they would escalate the issue for me. The reason for needing to wait another 3 days was not made clear but it was implied that the table may arrive on one of those days and so I therefore should put my life on hold and wait in all day for a table that may or may not arrive!!
Having waited 12 days I then requested a refund of my delivery charge as a good will gesture which was agreed. However by day 14 I had lost all confidence that customer services would be able to rectify the situation, so I approached staff at my local store again and requested they help me to cancel the order and receive a full refund which they were willing to do snd were in full agreement with me that the situation was unacceptable.

Note to Homebase… I would suggest you change the way your delivery service operates as it clearly DOES NOT DELIVER

Ps .. I have since bought a flat pack dining table from a different company which cost less and I was able to take it home the same day in my own car.

We went to the Dulux mixing station in Homebase, to get some paint mixed. There was no one there, so we asked a helpful member of staff who called down a man to help us. He was extremely annoyed that we’d disturbed whatever he’d been doing beforehand, and just grunted at us. I asked for 5L of Diamond Matt dulux trade paint, which he said he wasn’t sure they had in stock, but he then selected a tin of paint and put it in the machine. So I assumed he’d found it. There were several options to choose from on the screen, I think they were VOC free, or scrub resistant etc. but he let us know, in a very snarky tone, that he had absolutely no idea what they meant, or how they were different, so he couldn’t help us decide. We just picked one at random in the end. The tin was dented heavily on the side when it exited the machine, but at that point we just wanted to stop talking to this grumpy man and go. So we took the paint and paid. When I got home and started painting, the texture of the paint wasn’t what I expected - because it turned out it wasn’t the paint we’d requested at all. He’d slapped a diamond matt sticker on it, but the tin itself clearly said vinyl matt. Which is a much cheaper and less durable paint and absolutely not what we wanted for the kitchen. I was so upset because I’d diligently researched the correct paint, and because it was mixed for us, it’s non refundable. I’m assuming he thought he could get away with it, and he has. It was just an awful experience, and now we’re left with an expensive 5L tin of useless paint.

Really useful box is ideal for what we need it for.

Got a fabulous kitchen, great price and great service. Highly recommend. Homebase Christopher was so helpful and also recommended the new 4 in 1 instant tap and at Homebase offering a really good price. Just had to have one of those save having a kettle on the work surface and instant hot and cold filtered water. What more could you ask for.

Customer service was bad. Had to do all the chasing as items were not arriving. Quality of kitchen not brilliant and no help, advise or instructions. Calls from store not returned.
