Collected goods very helpful lady but had to return 2 lights not given any proof of return because on line told it will go back on card - no proof if anything goes wrong

My husband has a serious lung condition and cannot lift anything heavy.
I asked Roy at Streatham Homebase if I could pay for some bags of slate without having the hassle of having to push them on the trolley into the store. Not only did he agree, but he offered to push them to our car and put them in the boot.
We then decided to buy some more from the other end of the store and he went to load them on a trolley for us and again put them in our boot.
Gill on the till was also helpful.

Yesterday we shopped at Streatham Vale Homebase. It’s not my first visit there, and the service is not good but this time it was awful. Staff chatting to friend while we waited for help to choose drill. A nice young assistant eventually was sent to help but had little product knowledge. We chose one, but she gave us wrong one from locked storage. (Had to go back today to change it. Was challenged as I had no receipt. Server dismissively pointed at policy on wall, but I insisted they could trace the sale on your system. Manager came and agreed with me.) Attitude of most staff on both days was excessively unhelpful. When I asked for assistance with lifting heavy pots (2 at £45) I was told the work ex lad could not help as he ‘might hurt himself’. The rest of the queue heard this and were shocked. My partner and I are in our 70s. No concern for us ‘hurting ourselves’. We spent almost £300 during the 2 visits but whatever we spent, I’d expect courtesy and a better level of service.

The sales assistant was unfriendly bordering on rude. I said hello but got no reply. The only thing he said to me was 'cash or card'. No basic courtesy such as please thank you hello etc. I know retail staff are usually on minimum wage and dealing with the public is not the easiest job. But homebase does not seem to have staff who know what customer service means. Very poor.

Busy in-store and garden centre, but the staff were great - they always are. Shout out to Gaia on the tills, served everyone quickly and really friendly.

Easy online selection and quick home delivery

I had to wait a long time and found out I had to get my own order even though it was a click and collect ordered 2 days prior collection.

Terrible. Half the order not there. Staff member didn’t know what to do and was working alone. He Called for assistance but no one came. I had no choice but ask for the missing items to be refunded. Also a lamp that was with the order was damaged. No packaging, very scratched. Also had it refunded. Won’t bother with Homebase again

Unbelievably rude member of staff at the tills named “Danijela”, I was completely ignored while she was doing the transaction and my interactions were completely dismissed. I did not even receive a basic hello nor thank you after the transaction was complete and when I addressed her, she looked me up and down and ignored me entirely. I have been going to homebase Streatham Vale for over 15 years. I will not be returning due to the despicable customer service that I received!! Anybody working in retail should have basic customer service skills, I highly recommend the individual amends her attitude and is reprimanded. Unacceptable!!!

I ordered a garden table and chairs set online as my local Homebase store was showing 2 in stock at this location. It was on offer reduced by almost £100. I ordered it and then received a phone call to say there was no stock and that it would be refunded. I didn’t want it refunded, I was happy to wait for it to come back into stock, the main thing was getting the discounted price and the further 10% discount off my first order. The person on the phone said there should be a delivery later in the week, so I said please don’t cancel our order and hopefully we can collect it once it’s in stock. She said it would auto-cancel and refund me within 3 days if I didn’t collect it, and as it’s out of stock now there was no way round it (despite the fact my email said I needed to collect within 5 days). I asked for the number for customer services and they told me to look online. Very poor customer service. I used the live chat function on the website and the person told me I would have to save to my wishlist and reorder once back in stock but there’s no guarantee the item will still be the price I got today. I’m very disappointed.

The store didn’t have it in stock and where you’ll were quick to take my money it will be 3 days before I get a refund. What kind of stock control is that?

There was only one staff member at the till and collection point. He had a queue behind me and a couple in front of me, the store was getting ready to close, but he was still helpful and efficient with everyone. Great plant selection - nice and clean store!

Quick and efficient and very polite

My trip to Homebase today was a delight.
I was served by a gentleman called Junior (at the streatham common site)
He was not only friendly and went out of his way to help me with my query but also helped me put them into my car as I am pregnant and could not lift the weight.

The staff member on the collection desk wasn’t very friendly. My parcel had paint on it, presumably from another custkmer’s order.

This is the second time I have purchased paint online then was called to say they didn’t have it in stock.
A totally inept service I’ll never buy anything from Homebase again a complete waste of my time and money I have to wait to be refunded! AVOID!
