I am very happy to recommend Horizon Currency. They guided me through the process in a sympathetic and professional manner when transferring my UK inheritance to Belgium. Highly recommended.

Needed to transfer a large sum of money from France to the UK to pay off a mortgage - quite stressful given that the pound decided to rise significantly just as I was about to do the transaction. The Horizon team, and in particular Gilly, were very comprehensive and patient and helped to make the process less painful than it might have been and when the decision was taken, the procedure was easy and prompt . Can recommend!

We needed to transfer a large sum from the USA to the UK following a house sale. We have used Horizon for a while now due to their competitive rates and the ease of use of their platform. We were transferring at a time of high volatility in the GBP/USD market and received nothing but excellent care and support from both Carol and Louisa - who were obviously working and responding well outside of normal office hours to provide advice and reassurance. This kind of service and attention to the client is so valuable when such large sums of money are involved and I would highly recommend the team at Horizon.

First time using Horizon. I was a little apprehensive but everything happened as promised. I was kept updated and guided through the process. No hiccups. Will use Horizon again.

A business's website is like a job applicant's CV. One expects high quality from financial institutions; in particular, exemplary security. Below, I detail my 3 issues with this company.

1. Horizon sent my login and password credentials to me together in one unencrypted email, which could be intercepted by anyone.

2. I logged in. I then logged out again and was returned to a login screen, which only prompted me for my email address. I entered it. Shockingly, I was taken straight into my account. I was able to see my full personal details. I was not even prompted for my login credentials. This behaviour was 100% repeatable within the same browser session.

There are blog websites with better security behaviour than this. Alarming and shameful. Needless to say, I did not upload my passport, nor any further personal data.

Instead, I sent an email requesting account closure--since the website provides no way of requesting this.

3. I received an impersonal one line reply stating that as requested my account had been closed and my personal details deleted. However, upon attempting to login again, although I was unable to access my account, both my email address and credentials were recognised, indicating that my account still existed and the reply that I received was untrue.

It may be that the company just has a (very) poor IT setup and the rest is secure, professional, and trustworthy. But why would such a company be so complacent about its primary point of client interaction upon which its reputation rests? And why is the company's contact address a small serviced office, not an established business premises in its own name?

My overall impression of this company, now, is that it is like one typical of the small ad's one sees in the back pages of tabloid newspapers. Or like those typically advertised on daytime TV. This may be entirely wrong. There are many positive reviews here. But for my risk profile, this company fails when subjected to the "duck test".

I have decided to follow my instincts and pay slightly more by using a longer-established company with professional and secure client interfaces, more salubrious offices, and tens of thousands more positive reviews.

(I have waited over a week before posting this review. My account and personal data have still not been deleted and I have received no further replies from the company concerning this action.)

Caveat emptor.

I have to admit some trepidation transferring so much money to a company I hadn't heard of before my loan broker (here in France) recommended Horizon. But talking to the staff put my mind at ease and the transaction was as smooth and fast as possible. Very happy with Horizon and would use them again for sure. Excellent.

After all the frustrations of setting up a recipient French bank account. We are more than happy with the rate, service and understanding from the folk at Horizon and would happily recommend you to family and friends.

Excellent fast service and much better rates than the main clearing banks. The account management contacts, Carol and Louisa are very professional and efficient.

The process was quick and easy and the rate was better than retail.

Very professional and reliable service. Were exchanging and trafnsfering funds from UK sterling to our Euro account in Europe.
