Ordered a ring from H. Samuel online with an original collection date of 31st March from MK branch, which was missed with no communication or update.

I contacted customer service via live chat and was assured the item would now be ready for collection by 25th April, along with a £50 discount as a goodwill gesture. I was told I would receive an email confirming this — but nothing has been received.

This is a wedding ring that I need for my wedding on the 29th April, so the lack of communication and certainty is extremely concerning.

I then raised a formal complaint last Thursday and have still had no response.
To make matters worse, I’ve since received an automated email asking me to review the product — which I haven’t even received. That pretty much sums up the experience. At this point, the issue isn’t just the delay, it’s the repeated lack of follow-through and communication.

I chose H. Samuel expecting a reliable service for an important purchase, but this has been disappointing from start to finish.

Happy to update this review if the matter is resolved promptly.

UPDATE: Situation has got worse, not better

Following my original review, I was contacted by the store regarding my wedding ring order. I was then informed that the ring they had ordered under my order number was incorrect (lightweight instead of the heavyweight I specifically ordered) and that it hadn’t even been hallmarked yet — meaning it wouldn’t be ready in time anyway.

A lightweight ring was never acceptable as I deliberately ordered a heavyweight version, so this is not a minor issue but a failure to supply the correct item entirely.
Due to the delay, the original payment authorisation expired after the agreed collection date (31/03/26) passed. After this, and despite being told the correct ring could not be supplied in time, I then received a PayPal payment request for £599linked to the same incorrect order number, asking me to “make funds available”.

To be clear:

* The ring ordered was not what I requested
* A lightweight version is not an acceptable substitute
* The original collection date (31/03/26) was missed by over two weeks
* The original payment authorisation expired due to the delay
* I was already told the correct ring could not be supplied in time

Yet I was still asked to make payment for an incorrect and overdue order.

I have declined the payment request.
As a result of this, I am now left without a wedding ring less than two weeks before my wedding, and will have to try and source one in-store at short notice.
This has been a very poor experience from start to finish — incorrect ordering, missed deadlines, and now attempting to take payment regardless. I will not be using H. Samuel again.

Hi Horrible Sale Person Daniel made our experience worst ever. She don’t understand the basics of customer service rude attitude. I wanted to see more bracelet and she was adamant to pay for 2 first and then she will show any more. I asked her to send me another sales person she said I won’t do this. I bought 3 bracelets but no single Thankyou or a smile worst possible person.

My boyfriend got me an engagement ring 6 months ago went to get my wedding ring sort in an independent jeweller's and they noticed that 2 diamonds were missing from the engagement ring. They said that there was heavy impact marks on the outside setting which caused the claws to snap and I have not bashed the ring. Took back to H Samuel and they have come back to say they will not repair it for free, charging £186.00, as it has had trauma. Getting photo shoot for engagement in under 2 weeks with no ring and cannot move as paid for it. Also getting married in few months and this stress is not helping.

Today I had my ears pierced by Daniella, she was professional through out the process. She made sure everything was sanitary and ensured I was happy with everything before going ahead. Her customer service was exceptional and she should be praised for this. Made my experience so much easier.

Was over from Sweden for a family holiday and went in to the MK store. Was met by Tanya and explained my son was looking for a dress watch. Through her knowledge and professionalism and most of all her friendliness we bought a very beautiful watch which my son loves and people over here in Sweden are asking where we bought it from as it is so eye catching. Thanks once again. Great service.

Good website for info and sizing. Helpful staff in MK store, able to explain features and benefits. Oh and very good price!

Brought a gold chain with Albert bar at Milton Keynes store in October, this was a birthday gift from my husband, the chain snapped, went in the store to get a refund or exchange, was told they could repair it & wanted to charge me £45.00. When this item should still be under warranty. Shocking experience by the staff at this store

Fantastic support from Tanya in the Milton Keynes store. She really made my day solving a tricky problem with friendly help and advice. :-)

This business showed such incompetence and substandard practice that it almost borders to plain fraud.
I bought a Seiko watch from them in the MK shop, a piece of it fell off after 2 months. I took the watch back, they fixed it, no questions asked.
It happened again after a few month, now past the guarantee period, I bring the watch in again and they suddenly find that there item is faulty from manufacturing, repair would cost more than the new watch.
When asked why the defect was not found the first time, when guarantee was still valid, the response was that it is not their problem and that I should deal with Seiko directly.
The shop assistant even refused to acknowledge that the retailer has a statutory guarantee obligation towards the buyer.
I will never ever set foot in that shop again, and I would strongly advise anyone to do the same. There are plenty of quality and honest retailers around.

I recently needed to get my engagement, wedding and eternity rings resized.
Originally I went into Earnest Jones who told me it would not be possible to reezise my rings and advised me to look for new rings, I was quite upset by this.
I had a walk round the shopping centre and I popped into H.Samuel, I asked to try o some wedding sets but nothing was to my taste, I mention to the Manger what had happened in Earnest Jones, she asked to look at my rings, after looking and checking the settings she told me that there should be no problem. My rings were sent away, I received a call to say that they could be resized, 2 weeks later I picked up my rings, they looked amazing and fitted me perfectly.
The service from going in to collecting them was impeccable .
This branch was at Centre MK.
The staff are amazing, thank you for your fantastic service.

Really helpful lady and very happy with item purchased

Prompt and efficient battery replacement in a careful and Covid aware environment.

We purchased this watch as a gift it was placed into the wrong box with the wrong instructions

Lisa was amazing really great customer skills and helped us out with 3 things mainly being an issue with the product we received after ordering online, it arrived damaged and she helped resolve the whole issue.

The assistant was very attentive and had all the patience in the world and making sure we were satisfied.
