Review
We really enjoyed our Island Hoping tour of the Saronic Islands in Greece. We had booked the Cyclades Island tour but due to high winds, the boat couldn't get to the Cyclades, so they changed the tour at the last minute to the Saronic Islands instead. Even with this change, we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our guide, Mary Lou, was very well organized and kept us fully apprised of the daily schedules. She was also able to provide us with lots of local history information. The crew of the Erato were very good and the food on the boat was fantastic.

Gefallen hat uns das Engagement der Guides vor Ort und der Crew, insbesondere der Koch hat stets ein einfallsreiches, schmackhaftes, regionales Essen zubereitet. Nicht gefallen hat uns, dass das Schiff (Cemre 4), das kurzfristig für die Milo M ausgetauscht wurde, ebenfalls Mängel hatte. Der Fön funktionierte nicht. Während zwei Regentagen regnete es in die Kabine, das Bett, der Nachtschrank und das Badezimmer wurden nass. Die Kabinenfenster waren undicht. Nicht gefallen hat uns, dass wir einen Tag weniger auf dem Schiff hatten, weil der Kapitän früher zu einer anderen Buchung abreiste. Außerdem trieb uns der Kapitän beim Frühstücken zweimal zur Eile an, weil er früher ablegen musste. An einem Morgen mussten wir fluchtartig den Frühstückstisch verlassen, weil entgegen der Ankündigung vom Vorabend das Schiff sofort den Liegeplatz verlassen musste. Der letzte Frühstücksmorgen war sehr kalt und windig, der Windschutz wurde nicht angebracht. Nicht gefallen hat uns, dass die Guides nicht an Bord bleiben und uns nur zur Radtour abholen konnten, weil nicht genug Platz an Bord war. Nicht gefallen hat uns, dass nur englisch gesprochen wurde, obwohl die Reiseführung zweisprachig angekündigt war. Das erfuhren wir erst an Bord. Die letzte Nacht wurden wir in einem Hotel, anstatt an Bord, untergebracht. Von unserem Zimmer hatte wir die Aussicht auf eine Baustelle und nicht auf das Meer.

Sehr geehrter Herr Brandes, sehr geehrte Frau Gräser,
Vielen Dank, dass Sie sich die Zeit genommen haben, uns über Ihre Reiseerfahrung zu berichten. Es freut uns sehr zu hören, dass Ihnen das Engagement der Crew und Reiseleiter und vor allem die Mahlzeiten an Bord gefallen haben.
Leider blieb uns in dieser Woche keine Alternative übrig, als kurzfristig das von uns vorgesehene Schiff auszuwechseln, um die Integrität der Reise weitestgehend aufrecht zu halten. Durch diese unvermeidbare Änderung mussten wir hinnehmen, dass es für die begleitenden Reiseleiter keinen Platz an Bord gab und, dass die letzte Nacht der Reise in einem Hotel verbracht werden musste. Diese Änderungen wurden allen Teilnehmern der Reise im Voraus schriftlich mitgeteilt, um ihre weitere Teilnahme an der Reise bestätigen zu können.
Dass uns kurzfristig auch die vorgesehene deutschsprachige Reiseleitung abgesagt hat, kommt bedauerlicherweise noch hinzu. Zwei Tage vor Reiseantritt haben wir vergebens versucht Ihnen dies telefonisch mitzuteilen. Für die entstandenen Unannehmlichkeiten entschuldigen wir uns.
Falls Sie sich zu ihrer Reiseerfahrung im weiteren Detail mit uns austauschen möchten, stehen wir Ihnen gerne zur Verfügung.
Wir bedanken uns sehr, dass sie sich in diesem Jahr für eine Reise mit uns entschieden haben und für ihr offenes und faires Feedback.

Fabulous Croatian Adventure
Fabulous vacation island hopping in Croatia! The bike rides were gorgeous - wandering through many villages and countryside and ascendi ng sizable hills with amazing views - and at times challenging (in a good way.) The tours guides were excellent, both with communication and sharing local culture and history. The cabins on the boat (Bellezza) were very comfortable and larger than we expected; the food was very good; and the crew very friendly. Highly recommend!

The following things made our Islandhopping Dalmatian National Parks Tour (Sept. 26 - Oct. 3, 2025) great: incredible scenery, enjoyable bike rides, excellent shipboard meals, the efficient and helpful Magellan's crew, our cycling guides (Martina and Eddie) added endless humour and knowledge throughout the week, the professional tour guides contributed a very interesting historical perspective and the opportunity to explore towns and parks!

Could have been a 5 day trip, not 7
First the staff/family that operates the boat are wonderful, the bikes are top notch, the islands were beautiful & uncrowded, and the meals were good. This trip however could easily have been a 5 day trip, not 7. Be aware that there are no pictures on any websites that I could find of the bathrooms. Here is the bathroom situation. It is a boat-type shower where in your bathroom, the nozzle from the sink is pulled out and that becomes your shower. You can not flush toilet paper down the toilet- it goes into a waste basket that is emptied daily. The cabins are small as expected however, there is also an overhang above a portion of the bed that one traveler on our trip ended up smacking their head on. There were weather issues on our trip which can't be controlled and we ended up coming back to Milazzo a day earlier which resulted in 3-4 days in Milazzo port - once you've been to the Castle and Venus Pool there's not much to do in Milazzo after that.

This tour is amazing and the people staffing it are great. The food top notch. The guides were so much fun and very knowledgeable.
The only suggestions would be for the guides to be given a few alternate routes available to them that have been vetted and up to date. However, I am sure this is difficult as weather and route can be unpredictable.

Sailing and Biking from the Admiral
The guides on the tour conducted themselves very professionally. They knowledgeable, friendly, organized, and efficient. Five stars.
The bikes (electric assist) were in good mechanical condition and well maintained. Five stars.
The boat (Admiral) was Impressive but is definitely in need of some repairs, maintenance, and upgrades. four stars
The captain and crew of the Admiral as Sailors were obviously proficient in sailing the boat. Five stars
The crew, who were excellent sailors, were not quite as proficient when they had to take on the role of stewards. Four stars

Spectacular experience- recommend without hesitation
The boat was beautiful with very comfortable accommodations. The bed and cabin were very adequate size for our needs. Shower was bigger than expected with plenty of hot water. Food was fantastic and exceeded expectations. We enjoyed a great variety of seafood throughout the week, and the salads were beyond category. The level of service was stellar, incredibly friendly, gracious and accommodating. The trip itself was amazing- the scenery on both water and land was breathtaking and cannot be captured in pictures.

1. charge items ahead w cc, or include water fee/ LESS CASH payments ON BOARD. PayPal better option if needed so atm not a focus…
2. Rides - good to split on level of fitness/ cycling experience (Kristofer and Manuel did a nice job, managing variety w our 34 huge group)… 10 mi is not enough on a cycling trip ;)

Our "Girls Trip" exploring the Dalmatian Coast
My friends and I had a wonderful biking/sailing adventure aboard the Romantica in September. The e-bikes were outstanding as they tackled many hills for bikers of all abilities. Our bike guides, Mjerta and Dominik, were so helpful on our rides giving advice to riders as well as colorful anecdotes of local history. We laughed a lot! Of all the Inselheufen adventures I've taken, these 2 guides were my favorites. Our sleeping accommodations were very comfortable and our dinners delicious. No one lost weight on this 8-day trip. We met bikers from all over the world and will try to get together with them on future biking trips.

Our first experience and it was wonderful.
This was our first experience with Boat and Bike tours. It was excellent. The boat (bed) was comfortable, food very good, guides were excellent and the rides were wonderful. The ability to unpack once and travel to multiple sites was such a pleasure. The group size was fine, we would not want it any bigger.
