A fraudulent account was opened in my name with JD Williams and when I reported it to them they did not care and refused to provide me with the information the fraudsters had provided!

Bad company, sinking lower and lower. Customer service practically non existent! I was paying more then I needed to every month, sometimes two payments a month. All of a sudden in December after making two payments, I canât get in to my account!, it became non existent? January I get a letter from a company called ACI who have taken over my account, itâs probably the decline of the company, hiking prices, extortionate interest on the slowly declining lines of goods! Donât use them, legalised robbers
Poor attitude to safety
Still not received a duplicate assembly instructions for my bbq, that was first requested in October 25. This is despite the bbq having a gas burner. I am told by customer service that their âprocessâ must be followed. The company seem to think this âprocessâ is more important than gas safety. I am simply asking for a digital copy to be sent out to ensure the bbq has being correctly assembled
Absolutely Hopeless
I bought an exercise bike from JD Williams and within a couple of weeks, one of the pdeals came off and cannot be put back on. I contacted them about this and they referred this to the supplier who has not been in contact. Took some advice and it appears my contract is with them and not the supplier, therefore the onus is on them to resolve it. It is well within 6 months since purchase and yet they still refuse to take responsibility. I have quoted the consumer credit act at them with no luck, they keep saying wait 24 hours. Absolutely hopeless company. Qiock to take your cash, slow to take any responsinbility. Bet they'd be s**t hot if I stopped paying!

Very slow issuing refunds (still waiting after almost 3 weeks)
I ordered 6 items of clothing. Unfortunately 4 of them were too small and therefore, I needed to return them and request a refund.
The returned goods arrived with them on Wednesday the 25th of February, they acknowledged the return, by email, on Friday the 27th of February, I am still waiting for my refund. There returns policy is, in my opinion, vague to say the least.

I've used JD for a long time, but maybe not anymore. The website is so slow and filters take ages to load. (Losing the will to live). Also, unless you want a branded shoe/sandals they no longer stock size 3. As for petite fit? Don't bother.

Do not shop with these people EVER. Their default business model is straight up thievery. I ordered an item. The courier they choose to use Evri (their choice, their contractor, not mine) admit to losing the item, an admission, which I have by email. The item is admitted lost within the depot. The stroke they then pull, after a day long battle, is to agree to refund but subject to the following terms:
- You may be required to communicate with Evri Loss Prevention and/or the police regarding this missing parcel.
- Should we receive updated tracking information indicating that your order has been delivered, the charge will be reinstated.
- Providing false information may result in further action.
In other words they made the refund conditional on them being able to charge me later. There is NO information I can give to Evri loss protection or the police when Evri themselves admit to losing the parcel in the depot, so if there is fraud within the depot, this is a matter for Evri. The refund comes with a threat against me of âfurther actionâ.
This is entirely unacceptable and I then had to waste further time contacting the credit card company to block any payments being made to JD Williams, and they have reported this behaviour to Visa.
JD Williams then pull the stroke of making the refund further conditional on my returning the item their own contractor Evri has admitted losing.
Any attempts to deal with the call centre are met with intransigence of the operatives pretending not to understand my postcode, or telling me I am making up the incident number JD Williams itself supplied.
Clearly the call centre operatives are poorly remunerated and on some commission / incentive deal to make people jump through as many hoops as possible to get their money back after clear breach of contract on the part of JD Williams of not supplying the goods.
I am a qualified accountant and the threat of further action from JD Williams does not sit well with me, as, after all, they were the people who have attempted to rob me.
Do not shop with these thieves under any circumstances. I wasted a whole business day dealing with their nasty call centre hanging up on me and the way I had to behave to keep the discussion on track rose my systolic blood pressure by 30 points.
They need to learn that their default business model of thievery does not work every time. The credit card company tell me I donât have the agreed refund. JD Williams need to know I will leave no stone unturned to secure this. I am not being mugged in this way. 99% of people will roll over. I am the other 1%.

I raised a formal complaint with JD Williams regarding £38.72 in postage and interest charges that I believe are unfair. Despite explaining the situation clearly, Iâve been told the charges will stand.
I am currently dealing with the recent passing of my mother, and having to manage account disputes during such a difficult time has added unnecessary stress.
Iâm disappointed by the lack of flexibility and understanding shown. I have now requested that my account be closed.
