Amazing!
Second party we have been too and cant wait to come to the next one already. Me, my daughter and my husband had a fab time! The staff are so friendly and the games with the children are brilliant :)

Really great space and value for money! Everyone was so helpful and I'd recommend to anyone looking for a space to hire for whatever the event may be!

Hello! I wanted to share my thoughts on how fantastic the John Godber Centre is for hosting events. We celebrated our son's 40th themed birthday there in May. The space was spotless, spacious, and offered excellent lighting effects, coupled with a lively disco and ample room for dancing. The bar was well-equipped, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

Our first time as a client, all the worry taken away from the organisation of our clubs event. The staff took care of everything, to make our event a success all we had to do was turn up. We had people attending our event from all parts of the country, and they all commented on the venue and how well that were received.

Had our wedding reception here. Everything ran smoothly, staff were very helpful and accommodating. Would definitely recommend.

We celebrated our Ruby wedding in the Byron suite. The venue was perfect, the buffet was amazing, really good value for money. All staff were so helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend

I would highly recommend this venue. Kim was amazing throughout organising my Daughter’s Baby Shower. Nothing was too much trouble.The room was spacious and very clean and was set up for us and cleared away afterwards. I will definitely be using the Godber Centre again. Well Done you earned every one of the five stars . Thanks so much.

Amazing for everything!!
Extremely helpful, polite and welcoming staff, right from when I first went to look at the place, to the contact in between the date, the setting up, bar staff and cleaning down!!
All my guests have said how friendly the bar staff were! The lady helped load everything from the cars to the room and then also helped with the organising the cake and a clean down of the room. (I thought this was my task to do, but everyone mucked in and helped out)

I couldn’t have asked for a better venue with better staff, they have been brilliant throughout the whole process, nothing is too much for them! Thankyou for helping me plan, decorate and carry out my 30th birthday party!!

We hired the Portland Room for a singing workshop and concert. The venue worked really well - a lovely, bright space with great acoustics and facilities. The staff at the John Godber were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make everyone comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue.

The venue is immaculate and the staff were very professional, helpful and polite. I would not hesitate to use this venue again and i would highly recommend here for any event that you have planned.

We recently rented a room for our wedding reception, and it was absolutely perfect! The space was beautifully set up, clean, and spacious enough to accommodate all our guests comfortably. The staff were incredibly helpful, attentive, and ensured everything ran smoothly throughout the night. The venue’s attention to detail made our celebration truly special, and we received so many compliments from our guests about how lovely it all was. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a wonderful place to host a special event!

I recently held my 60th Birthday Party at the Portland Suite, The John Godber Centre. From initial booking to detailed organisation the management team were most diligent. The function suite is well maintained and has access to the bar plus toilets. The room looked great set up and the staff helped up clear up at the end. Would definitely recommend using this facility for a celebration function.

We are a group of dancers who were celebrating our 30th anniversary of being together. we were a party of just over 100 and had space to eat at tables and dance( Ceilidh) - we even a stage for show pieces! The venue was perfect for us, the size of hall was good as were the facilities. Great flexible package so that we could hire what we needed. Staff were fabulous, friendly, professional and very helpful making sure that everything went smoothly on the night. Good parking at the back of the hall and very accessible for those with mobility difficulties. Can certainly recommend the venue

Hi, I just wanted to let anyone know out there what a fabulous venue the John Godber Centre is to hold an event at. We had our sons 40th themed birthday celebration there in May. The room was clean, airy, great lighting effects, great Disco, plenty of room for dancing. Bar well stocked. The staff are so friendly and helpful.

Had a surprise 40th here on the 27th of April.. from booking the room to meeting on site to sort plans for table, bar, kitchen ect was made easy by he staff! Everyone we dealt with was amazing!! The bar staff on the night were a good laugh and very friendly and helpful! The night went so smoothly and a good night was had by all!! Great facility if you are thinking of having any type of function! Thank you!

John Godber Centre hosted our engagement party. They were really efficient with helping us get the room how we wanted I.E table plans, and organising a fantastic DJ, even though they were in a busy period were prompt at contacting us, and we even got early access to set up the room! Stall are lovely, polite and very welcoming.

So many of our guests had told us how nice the room was and that it was the most fun they had in ages! Highly recommend, great pricing too and good selection of drinks at the bar at very reasonable prices. Definitely will be considering as a venue for any future parties we may have, couldn’t fault it!

Kim and team at John Godber Centre really care that you have a good time.They are very helpful. Our party was perfect. Festers Disco were so friendly and played the music we asked for at the sound level we requested. The buffet by Cathy of CET Catering was delicious.

If I could have gave more stars I would have. We recently had our wedding reception there and the staff where phenomenal nothing was to much trouble, down to every detail perfection, we can’t thank Kim and her team enough for making our day so special. Memories we will treasure.

What an amazing night
We decided to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary at the John Godber. The team were fantastic right from booking. They were extremely helpful, friendly and had a lovely way of making us feel special. They were great at helping me choose balloon colours,table layouts and room design. They were on hand all evening and made the party flow -seamlessly.
The buffet was delicious with a huge choice of food - even for the vegetarians and gluten free.
Everyone had a smashing time (literally with the T Rex🤣)
It was perfect and I highly recommend them.
