I am extremely disappointed with this agent and would give zero stars if I could. Throughout the entire process, I felt like they did absolutely nothing to help close the deal; instead, they only added immense and unnecessary stress.

The agent was completely passive—never moving forward unless constantly pushed, and even then, barely delivering. We made it very clear from the start that we wanted a quick completion, yet the agent did nothing but stall the process with zero constructive advice, which was incredibly frustrating.

The lack of communication and honesty was the worst part. During price negotiations, I had to find out the vendor's response through my own solicitor. When I followed up with the agent, they took two days just to lie to me, claiming the vendor hadn’t contacted them. In reality, a week had already passed, and the vendor had already replied to the solicitor. How could the owner reply to the solicitor but not their own agent? It was a blatant lie.

To make matters worse, this agent provided misleading information right from the initial viewing, which caused a massive misunderstanding later on.

Finally, scheduling the final viewing was another nightmare. After being chased multiple times, the agent told me the time was "confirmed." It turned out the vendor had never agreed to it. Because I had already arranged my schedule around this false confirmation, I was forced to clean up the agent's mess and alter my plans to accommodate the mistake.

Avoid at all costs. Absolutely zero professionalism. I cannot recommend this agent to anyone looking for an efficient or honest service.

The service I received from Keenans has been outstanding from start to finish.

Started the process of selling my house with Keenan’s in November 2025, easy to deal with and organised and held all viewings so I didn’t have to re arrange any of my work schedule to accommodate, photos and listing looked great too.

Despite difficulties with management companies Keenan’s were great slabs Nikki was a great help in trying to get answers and keeping my updated with what was going on!

We chose Keenans Rawtenstall to sell our house primarily because of their competitive fees. Looking back, I wish I had done more research beforehand.
On the day our property went live, I visited the office for the first time to drop off a key and was quite surprised. There was very little to indicate that it was an estate agency. There were no property displays in the windows, just a very minimalist office with mirrors, lighting, ornaments and interior design books. It felt more like an interior design showroom than a business focused on selling houses.
The same impression carried over to their social media presence. There seemed to be more content featuring staff selfies and lifestyle posts than actual property marketing. As a seller, I expected a stronger focus on promoting homes.
When I dropped off the key, just three hours after the property went live, I was told they had already received six enquiries. Our property was also labelled as a "Hot Property" on both their website and Zoopla, with indications of high interest and hundreds of views. Given this, I found it difficult to understand why we received only three viewings in the first three weeks.
In fact, one of those viewings came about because a note was posted through our door by someone who had been trying unsuccessfully to contact Keenans to arrange a viewing. We organised that viewing ourselves. Perhaps that offers some insight into the issue.
During this time, we viewed numerous properties through other estate agents. Many were more expensive than ours and, in our opinion, not as appealing, yet they often had back-to-back or block viewings arranged. By contrast, whenever we tried to arrange viewings through Keenans for properties we were interested in, we frequently had to chase by phone and email before receiving a response.
After three weeks, we raised our concerns and asked for our property to be promoted on their social media channels. Following this, we received two additional viewings. However, after five weeks on the market and only five viewings in total, we felt we had made the wrong choice and decided to give notice.
Two days after sending our notice by email, we had received no response, so I had to follow up myself. I also mentioned that the terms and conditions supplied to us were extremely difficult to read because the text was so small and became blurred when zoomed in. Harry agreed that this was an issue and said he was unsure about the notice requirements as a result, promising to call me straight back. Unfortunately, he never did.
The following day I called again and was told that I would remain tied into the contract for the remainder of the 12-week term plus a further 28 days' notice. I accepted this and simply asked for the property to be removed from the market. I was then told that this could not be done and that the property had to remain online.
When I explained that I no longer wished to sell the property and wanted it removed, I was told it could instead be suspended and reactivated later to complete the remainder of the contract period. I explained that if we decided to sell again in the future, we would not be using Keenans.
After speaking with his manager, Harry returned and confirmed that I was in fact correct: the property could be removed from the market immediately. The only restriction was that I could not instruct another estate agent until the contractual period had expired.
That was absolutely fine by me. Unfortunately, after this experience, we have no intention of selling for a while. Will never use Keenans again.

Regarding your reply. No you did not conduct 7 viewings! You may have 7 on your records but actually You conducted only 4!

As for the offer. This was a cheeky offer, not a genuine one which you confirmed yourself.

I have to say I had a negative experience with this estate agents. I felt that they did not move things along at any speed and it was hard to communicate with them outside of my own working hours. When I wanted to pull out, it was only then that I felt anyone made any real attempt to tell me what had been going on to hold things up but by then I must admit, I had lost trust in this company. I know everyone has different experiences but this was mine.

Keenans recently dealt with the sale of my deceased aunt's house. Nikki Winstanley kept me informed throughout the process and worked relentlessly on behalf of myself and the other 2 executors. Our solicitor was excellent and was ready to exchange very quickly but there were delays in the ealier part of the chain, which Nikki helped progress by communicating effectively with us, our buyers, all solicitors and the other estate agent involved in the chain. I spoke to Nikki regularly where she kept me informed with updates and the actions she was taking with the other parties to move towards completion and resolution of issues earlier in the chain. Thanks go to Nikki for advocating for us at a difficult time and ensuring the sale completed.

Very positive experience from start to finish. Whilst I can't honestly say I enjoyed the moving house ride, Nikki worked hard to keep it on track and to keep us calm when we hit bumps in the road. Keenans were excellent. We have just sold 2 properties with them. I work in the property industry and have bought and sold many properties over the years and I found Keenans to be very good. Keenans gave me a valuation which significantly exceeded that of other agents we approached. I confess I was not convinced with their valuation and thought that the value suggested had been offered simply to secure the instruction. I was completely wrong. Keenans generated a lot of interest at their valuation and we sold both properties in reasonable time at the asking price. I would highly recommend them. We are significantly better off having having put faith in their agency.

Nikki and the rest of the team made the selling of our property a straight forward experience. They were very professional and polite when speaking to us and everything was explained simply. We were kept upto date as to how things were going. Keenans would be recommended by us.
