LOOK HERE SCAMMER ALRET!!!

Look, they are more agency that you can work with pay more with 2 years experience.

After I applied and they said they only pay me minimum wage. which is 11.45 pound.

I am working with Languageline, HITS, Word360, Clearvoice (Home Office)

they pay me from 13 to 16 pound, and customer service is good and friendly.

They called me why I didn't finished the whole application.

The guy in the phone call is arrongant and giggle after he heard me working for 15 pound an hour.

He thought I don't have a stedy workflow, but I have few agency constantly offering works to me.

THEY DO NO VALUE YOUR TIME, THEY DO NOT VALUE YOU, THEY CHARGE NHS AND GOVERNMENT EXPENSIVE BILL AND ONLY PAY YOU MINIMUM WAGE. THESE COMPANY WERE RUN BY DODGY DAVE AND SOUNDS LIKE INDIAN CALL CENTER.

They are disrepectful of this profession and trying to exploit young interpreters.

DO NOT JOIN THEM, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Zero communication skills

Well, registered and past assessment 3 years ago, NO assignments sent, keep seeing adv for french interpreters in Nottingham which is where I live! And still nothing, contacted them over a dozen time and never ever got a reply? Clearly communication is NOT a skill they have. Wont bother working for this type of agency. The worth is they keep sending me emails about updates on their hub!! Hilarious as I cant even log in 🀷🏜‍♂🙄

Unethical, untrustworthy, greedy, unorganised company

Unethical, untrustworthy, greedy, unorganised.
They scam you, and use their unfair rules against you without even listening to youR response or evaluate the situation.
They delay the payments for a whole month which they can highly benefit from.
In a nutshell, it's the worst company I could ever think of.

By far the filthiest treatment ever!! Not only they NEVER PAY ON TIME!!!! BUT THEY PAY LESS THAN THE AMOUNT EVEEY SINGLE TIME!!! It is a COMPANY THAT DISCRIMINATES HUMAN RIGHTS !! THEY MAKE YOU BEGG FOR YOUR MONEY - WHILE AGENTS SAY THEY RECIEVED THEIR PAYMENT WEEKS PRIOR TO TO YOU AS A FREELANCER!!! INTERPRETERS MAKE THESE COMPANIES AND THEY NEVVER GAT PAID!!! Beyond RACIST BEHAVIOUR AND DISCRIMINATING AGAINST US FOREIGN INTERPRETERS. WE HAVE BILLS TO PAY AS WELL AND THEY TREAT US LIKE SLAVES!!!!!

Untrustworthy and unethical company!

I'm a Freelance Portuguese/English interpreter. I've been working for them less than two months..

The payment suppose to be in 30 days, is 2 months and a half NO PAYMENT!!!

I called every day and no one knows or solve the case.

LE is an untrustworthy and unethical company!!!!

I'm going to advice any interpreters / organisations to avoid working with this rubbish company.

DON'T WORK FOR THIS RUBBISH COMPANY!!!

Avoid this company

I am a Freelance Greek/English interpreter. I have worked with this company between 2017-2020.

LE is an untrustworthy and unethical company, which will sacrifice with great ease the quality of service. They have shown complete disregard to the needs of the vulnerable non-English speaking service users by prioritising the company’s need for profit. They have not paid me the agreed amount, and I am still waiting to be paid in full.

In May 2018 there was a crime in Doncaster area where a Greek Interpreter was required, I was the only one available and because of my price LE decided to lie to the police that they have no interpreter available. When finally decided to send me with my agreed price the victim of the crime has been discouraged and was not present to provide his testimony.

In May 2020 I was assigned to interpret for a service user under a mental section. Multiple interpreters were assigned to her and could not do the job, to clarify I am not commenting on the abilities of my fellow interpreters.

It is the company’s duty to identify the skill set of the interpreters and assign them based on the requirements of assignment. However what this company does, it assigns interpreters based on cost, with disregard to quality of service.

When finally it was realised that I was the right interpreter for the assignment we agreed that the bookings will be at a specific price. Once they utilised me for 4 bookings on the agreed rate, then they decided with no explanation to drive the price down to about 3/5 of my original agreed rate – this new rate, was for the booking that was to assess the mental requirements of the service user. The booking was meant to be 2 hours. Even though that the booking was important, LE decided not to assign the booking to me and at the same time not to provide any interpreters for this important booking.

As this is a safeguarding issue and I happen to be a professional and an ethical being, I contacted the client and offered my services for free so the vulnerable service user will have an interpreter.

In total I did 1 telephone interpretation and 4 bookings with LE between May and July. I was supposed to be paid in full by August. However LE declined to pay me in full because apparently I agreed something different.

I will advice any interpreters or organisations to avoid working with LE, as they are untrustworthy and unethical. If you require further information/evidence, you can contact me on the LinkedIn.

I would give Language Empire no stars


I would give Language Empire no stars if it were possible. Over a period of a week have texted them 5 times, emailed, messaged on Messenger and tried to call them ( goes straight to Voicemail. Not once have they responded to a request to book a BSL Interpreter. Absolutely shocking and showing complete disregard for a deaf person who needs an interpreter for a medical appointment

Unprofessional way of dealing with issues

This organisation is only good if you are starter and need to get a bit of expierence in interpreting/translating.
If you already work for other organisations you will see the difference for sure... I strongly believe that it's important to see how Manager deals with an issue to get a whole picture of organisation.
NHS (one of their contract) is great as always so there is no issues working with clients and hospital staff but if there is an issue with payment or any other issues(administrative) then you will lost there forever. My first payment came 10 months later... They do not investigate anything before they email you back they just copy and paste paragraphs which do not make sence to email you have sent so there is no ability from manager to reply in her own wordsto your email, all she can do is to copy and paste paragraphs. When you get an email to feedback on her job it gets straight to her for reply which I found very unusual. I wish we had this at NHS.
I worked there for long because my hospital requested me to do this job as they respect me a lot and wanted me not to do only admin work but also to use my language skils so I had no communication with Empire a lot, acepted almost all jobs until there was an issue once and here they showed their manners and the way they deal with it. To compare with NHS they are very unprofessional and there is a lot to learn, I would say basic things, how to deal with interpreters, for example, who make them a lot of money.

Worst Company I ever worked for! Not recommended

I worked for this company since March 2019, The payment terms is 50 days after processing could take up to 2 whole months!
I started as a freelance interpreter for my 2 native languages. I never been asked for an interview face to face, so everything gone through the phone. As a beginner they are offering you £10 per hour for the actual work so the time you’re spending on travelling doesn’t count.
If you have any issue sickness etc.. after the job has been assigned to you, you have some penalties to pay which, I think is absolutely unfair! It could happen to anyone and anytime to have unexpected issue by the time.
After all will not recommend to work with this company at all for these reasons:
Payment to slow
Not flexible
Very slow response
Unprofessional
Underpaid job
Not chance to grow for your career.

Worst ‘interview’ process ever

Absolutely shambles of a company

I was put through 2 interviews and 1 taster day for a low paid and low skilled job although I was over qualified for the role.

2 colleagues, 1 Hr advisor (who has no real authority by the looks of it) and another ‘Senior’ management made false promises of the fact that I would be successful and I was excellent for the role. HR advisor was unable to make any decisions for her role and I was strung along with no real discussion of the outcome and of course my wasted days.

I find the whole company unprofessional and discriminating. The interview consisted of multiple question of whether I had any long term health issues. That is something personal and not up for disclosure. I think the company uses information as such to choose people for the job. Not only that, they take personal Id from you and photocopy it. In my years of employment never have I been in a position where a Company does this. Clearly, it shows how much of an amateur business this is.

Another point to note is the fact they backtrack so many things without any reason or even have the manners to inform.

A interview with the Ceo (whose name was never provided to me) was changed only when I had arrived. I was then told that he would not be making it but someone from Senior management will now take over. I was not informed of this prior to attending.

I was provided with a role of Contact Management by that person which may be offered and I would attend the taster day to see whether I enjoyed it or not. I was then told on the day that they have revoked this option from me. Again, with no prior acknowledgement and no
real explanation.

During my taster day experience I found that the company employed young, unskilled and uneducated staff. Managers who did not dress accordingly, constant bickering amongst staff, and no real professionalism amongst anyone. I was not given any sort of guidance throughout this wasted hour and half and at the end they were so quick to push me out of the door. Funnily, there was no judgment of my skills on this day so to find they rejected me following this was absolutely laughable. For the two interviews prior to this they did nothing but constant praise and promises of roles. Clearly they weren’t happy with the fact that I was more skilled and aware than them and the rest of the company.

I wasted much of my time with this horrible and useless company. I hope no one else will. This is not a company which wants to hire someone for the job, they have ample time and efforts to waste someone’s time and then assume they will work for peanuts. Disgusting.

Positive review!

Titred of seeing everyone who has had a bad experience jump onto review sites and leave bad reviews when they wouldnt do the same if they had a good experience.
Im leaving a review as I had a good experience working with Language Empire as an interpreter. I was well informed and reminded of all my bookings. They were always a call away and very helpful.

Nightmare

They are now communicating a bit better but the payment scheme is a Nightmare. They delayed my payment for 2months! Call after call and promise of payment. And discounted me money for being 'late' which means being on time, you have to be 10 min earlier for the assignment but they do not pay you that, they call it 'waiting time'. They now claim to pay weekly which is not really weekly but 2 to 3 weeks after. The clients are lovely but Don't recommend working here at all.

I have worked for this company for 4 months

I have worked for this company for several months as an interpreter. They are terrible to work with. They don't pay what i agreed with them, they don't reply to emails for ages and it's easier to reach the moon than their finance department. Unfortunately for the patients and NHS, I had to refuse a lot of jobs from them. I just hope NHS will choose another translation company to work with.
