I am assured by various reviews online from reliable sources that McAfee antivirus does a good job and like many people I don't have any in depth technical knowledge to challenge that view. However, the thing that will stop me renewing it is their hugely annoying approach of pointing out all the things the basic package does NOT do. Sorry but I'm not spending any more, if you can't offer a decent standard package in the first place then I'm going elsewhere. I fully understand that there are limits to what a software package can offer but using McAfee is like buying a car, only to be reminded that I also need to buy wheels, a gearbox, aircon and central locking - I want the whole thing in one go! Possibly the most annoying antivirus business, they need a completely different marketing approach.

So many scams related to McAfee, impossible to know if any contacts are genuine.
Not happy with product, so many scam pop ups, that I have lost trust with their products.
Lost trust, don't believe anything from this company.

Unexpected charges, hidden fees, very tricky to navigate cancelation pages and impossible to deal with customer support. Horrible experience, stay away from those people.

Antivirus ed assistenza pessimi con invasività ossessiva delle notifiche, di cui alcune banali, ricorrenti e fondamentalmente inutili. Di recente, ben prima di 1 mese dalla scadenza della licenza, appaiono pop up di sollecito al rinnovo (con tono minaccioso!). Malgrado le ricorrenti richieste all'assistenza, sulle dis-funzionalità del programma e di disattivazione con rimborso, nulla ha mai avuto concreto seguito.

the current consumer version of mcafee is closer to scareware than anti-malware and the "McAfee Webadvisor" is just outright malware.
Worst AV company in existence.

Mal stimmte angeblich die Kontakt E-Mail nicht, dann stimmte der bezahlte 25-Zeichen Code angeblich nicht (nachdem die Kontakt E-Mail angenommen wurde 👺 )! Schlussendlich war der Code angeblich "verifiziert" -aber automatische Verlängerung ist und bleibt nicht aktivert und die Deadline für das erste Jahr läuft trotzdem ab - genau wie vor der Eingabe des 25-Zeichen Verlängerungs-Codes. Da hat Mc Afee schön kassiert und verweigert online jedwede Leistung

Made the annual renewal of my McAfee account over two weeks ago for £39.99. I have emailed McAfee 4 times, giving them this information and sent the evidence of my payment. Still absolutely nothing, and they continue to email me daily telling me that they are going to withdraw my protection. So now I will ask my credit card company to recover my payment. This is an example of a so-called protection company offering to protect you for a fee, but then actually scamming you themselves. Avoid McAfee like the plague!!
01.05.2026. Unbelievable! Now MacFee tell me that the emails I have received are not from them but are a scam!. After paying for my new subscription as detailed earlier, I am now told by MacFee that it was not them, but it was from a scammer! So now McAfee say I have been scammed so exactly what have McAFee been doing to protect me?

Heute war die McAffee App wieder nicht zu öffnen und ich musste sie wieder deinstallieren und neu installieren.
Das finde ich schlecht, nein sehr schlecht.
Wenn das Abo abläuft werde ich mich um einen anderen Schutz kümmern.

Renouvellement automatique de l abonnement,129 euros ! .En allant voir sur mon compte,il fallait decocher case "Renouvellement automatique " , et en décochant la case , on vous fait une remise de 30 % pour vous inciter à maintenir cette option. Dommage pour moi, trop tard , mais a la fin de l abonnement, j irai ailleurs.

inmiddels 2 jaar terug een nieuwe laptop gekocht. bij deze laptop zat andere beschermsoftware. ik krijg al 2 jaar lang, 1 tot soms zelfs 3 keer per dag een mailje van hun over het verlengen. het overplaatsen naar ongewenst werkt ook helaas niet. wanneer een mailtje per ongeluk daar terecht komt is het bijna onvindbaar. mailadres van hun blokkeren werkt ook niet en het is nu wel echt heel vervelend.

What a rip off, renewed subscription is three times the price of buying from a shop, guess it was my fault for not cancelling the automatic renewal but this was not due until the end of next month yet the greedy money grabbers took the money today!!!!

Will never use this so called professional company anymore, if you have their product make sure that you cancel the automatic renewal straight away otherwise they will rip you off as well.

I've been a McAfee subscriber for years and, until recently, have had no problems. But now I've been receiving nonstop promotional messages from them, prodding me to buy services I don't need and turn on auto-renewal. Literally, every time I open my computer, I see these relentless marketing attacks.

I tried to stop them (there should be a button to untick marketing offers), but McAfee has intentionally hidden all features from my account, leaving only the renewal date and the "Renew automatically" button.

I engaged AI to help me access my McAfee account with a fully displayed layout. We tried all options, but McAfee blocks them. Links that should give direct access to my account now return a "Page not found" message with the McAfee logo.

I feel like I'm dealing with the mafia. Unfortunately, I paid for a 2-year subscription and am now stuck with it. There is simply no method available to block this aggressive marketing campaign. BE WARNED!

How a business like this is capable of operating without thousands of class action suits against them is, well it is a complete breakdown of our legal system. This company will flood your email for years if you decide to leave them. Apparently no one reads these reviews. 12 to 26 emails a day stating this is your last chance before you lose your pictures, what pictures. I'm writing this for me, no one else will ever read it. If I'm at a dinner party and you tell me you work at McAfee I'm likely to slap the shit out of you.

Je kunt je account totaal niet meer beheren, kan ze alleen nog maar door de week chatten of bellen. Geen mail etc. Waardeloos en dan denken dat klanten niet belangrijk zijn. Snel stopzetten het account! Zie ook de 3000 andere reviews met een score van 1 uit 5.

Anbefaler alle å ligge unna McAfee. Jeg hadde abbonnement i 2 år. Da fungerte det greit. Men da jeg året etter avsluttet abbonnementet ble de helt gale. De godtok ikke at det ble avsluttet og fortsatte å sende oppfordringer om at jeg måtte fortsette abbonnementet. Flere eposter hver dag. Mer og mer ufine henvendelser. De la også inn virus på min maskin slik at det bare fortsatte og fortsatte. Jeg forsøkte mange ganger å rense dette ut og blokkere dem men helt umulig. Til slutt ble jeg nødt til å endre epostadressen for å slippe unna spameposter fra dem.

I just received a marketing email from McAfee.
There is no unsubscribe link.

It says :

Why did I receive this alert?
When your info is found on the dark web, there's a strong possibility that linked passwords and other identifying info might be compromised too. We started monitoring [my email address] when you became a McAfee subscriber.

I have never been a McAfee subscriber.
THERE IS NO UNSUBSCRIBE LINK.
