Our auto renewal starts in November, however, McAfee has taken payment from our credit card in August! This is well before the renewal date. I’ve cancelled he subscription today but trying to get back the early charge from our credit card is proving impossible. Online chat just give standard AI answers and they make it so difficult to get to talk to anyone by phone. We will probably have to make a claim through our CC.

Purchased a new laptop in August 2025 from Curry's. I was talked into purchasing 2 years of MacaFee protection. On checking my bank account this morning I have 2 payments pending totalling £299.98 for a further 2 years protection without any notice from MacaFee. I have spent 2 hours on their websitechatting to 3 unknown persons who took my details several times. I requested a person to person telephone call without success. On checking my account I have another twelve months protection expiring on the 21st September 2027 so why are they taking another 2 years payments from my account! I have cancelled my subscription. On communicating with my bank I have been informed that I am unable to do anything until payment has actually been taken from my account. Shocking company!

nobody wants this on their pc as standard anti virus + doesn't even protect your pc (even if you pay)
had many counts of unauthorized changes being made to my pc by a program and mcafee didn't detect or stop the program from continuing harm to my pc

My account was auto-renewed well ahead of the date. My email went unanswered and then I attempted a chat which was cut off. I later tried another chat and was then transferred to a human who refused to simply let me cancel my subscription and refund me. It was an extremely frustrating situation that lasted almost an hour.

Full screen ads that are intentionally misleading and impossible to click out of. Pretty much everyone knows at this point, this company is basically malware itself. I imagine they only way they generate revenue anymore is from those scare tactic ads.

Jeg har nu flere gange været inde og framelde. Fik at vide sidste gang, at det var opsagt, og der ville ikke blive trukket flere penge. Vi har aldrig bestilt det. Kan så nu igen se ,at der er trukket kr. 999,00.

La mia opinione sul loro operato è andata molto peggiorando rispetto al 5/4/2026, giorno in cui mi sono lamentata in questo sito del fatto che McAfee mi reindirizzava sempre su Yahoo, facendolo diventare in automatico il mio motore di ricerca predefinito e costringendomi ogni volta a fare una specifica manovra per tornare su Google. Bene, non era niente in confronto a quello che è successo in seguito. Probabilmente a causa di uno scontro a fuoco tra Yahoo e l'antivirus integrato nel PC, un bel giorno mi sono sparite decine e decine di foto non solo dal PC ma persino dalle chiavette USB, ragione per cui ho impiegato settimane nel tentativo di sistemare quel casino. Molte cose, non tutte, le ho faticosamente ritrovate nel sito di OneDrive, ma così mischiate come ordine cronologico che era veramente difficile districarsi in quel macello. Ma non finisce qui. Avevo intenzione di mandare McAfee a quel paese, ma con più di un mese di anticipo rispetto alla scadenza mi hanno prelevato € 129,95. A fatica sono riuscita a togliermeli di torno e il 12 luglio mi hanno inviato a malincuore il rimborso. O almeno così dicono: sono andata a vedere il mio conto in banca e a tutt'oggi (19 agosto) di questo rimborso non c'è traccia! A quanto pare, TRA IL DIRE E IL FARE C'E' DI MEZZO IL MARE, come dice il proverbio. Non ho intenzione di mollare il colpo. Devono pagare per le loro malefatte, com'è giusto che sia!

DO NOT Subscribe. You can’t cancel the coverage. I put it in place 15 years ago on an old desktop. Just realized I was still being charged an auto renewal fee on a credit card statement. When I called to cancel it they could not because they said I had to give them the email address that I set it up with. They had no other way to pull me up so could not cancel my subscription.
I had to shut down my credit card and have them send me a new one.

McAfee ist wie eine Zecke die man fast nicht mehr los wird. Seltsamerweise von Windows/Microsoft auf neuen PC`s vorinstalliert (ist wahrscheinlich die einzige legale Einnahmequelle von McAfee).
Nach allem was man hier so liest und selber erlebt hat, ist es wirklich erstaunlich das McAfee überhaupt noch existiert. Das sind schamlose Betrüger ohne gleichen! AM BESTEN SOFORT NACH DEM KAUF EINES NEUEN PCs DEINSTALLIEREN!

I open emails from other concerns, such as PCH, and frequently without my consent McAfee starts running a system check. I don't have it. I don't want it. These pop-ups ruin my experience viewing content from my emails. I want them stop.

Nachdem alle Schritte zur Aktivierung abgeschlossen waren, meldete sich das Programm mit "Installation auf dem Computer / Gerät nicht möglich"!
Support telefonisch nicht erreichbar, sämtliche Nummern, und in der Folge hat der Online-Support Zugriff auf den Rechner erhalten und "plötzlich brach die Verbindung ab bzw. wurde das "Projekt" beendet!
Der Erstattungsbutton ist so viel Wert wie ein "Taubenschiß"! Erstattung trotz MANGEL nicht vorgesehen!

I purchased a yearly plan but was so difficult and cumbersome to set up I never used it once! Now 11 months later they charged my credit card at 3 times as much as I paid last year WITHOUT my consent or knowledge.

Having notified McAfee that my father had died and that his account should be closed, they later went on to charge his account almost £200.
Unfortunately, I was told that as it had been longer than 6 months since they took the money from my dead father's estate, they aren't able to offer a refund, even though they acknowledged that they had received notification of his death long before charging him.
They did say that they could transfer the remaining period to my account if I wanted.
I have been promised 3 times now that a supervisor will call me back - the first time I was told between 30 and 60 minutes. The second person tried to call me a liar by saying I would not have been told this - that was until I declared that I was reading it from the transcript from the chat and that it was stated 3 times. This second person assured me on the Friday (the day after the first call) that I would either hear that day or the next. Today is now Tuesday and I have had to go through the process again. This time the lady even asked me if I wanted the supervisor to call me back or my father - I had to reply by saying that my father isn't able to take the call right now, on the matter that he's dead!!
I've been promised that I will get a call in the next 24-48 hours but I'm not holding my breath.
I can see why they have such a low trust pilot rating. Thieving scumbags!!
