McAfee this time like every time doesn't improve my laptop experience when it comes to the pop-ups, slow loading and the feeling of being unsecure because of me being transferred to another page as I'm actively typing on the page I've been on. McAfee charged me like I was still involved with their company for a renewal. I called to cancel their yearly renewal, and I was on hold while simultaneously typing on the McAfee chat. I said I needed to speak to a manager both times; with the automatic voice operator on the phone and the chat bot on their app. It was a very unpleasant & unnecessary process that I hope to never have to go through again!

utterly useless customer service. they keep hassling you to renew then when you do the previous subscription still had 2 months on it and they don't add the extra. disgraceful company

I was on the phone for at least half an hour with an AI repeating itself that someone would help me soon and it never happened. I then hung up and called back again I'm waiting for another 15 minutes and then it acted like I'd already gotten the help I needed which I didn't and then it hung up. I don't even know if I have an account with them and that's why I needed to talk to an agent because I have pop-ups on my laptop telling me to scan for viruses and all sorts of warnings popping up which to me seems like a scam. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Mcafee sucks and uses malware to try and get you to sign up. no one should use mcafee! crooks!

Garbage company. Garbage product. I hope the developers end up in 7th layer of hell

ich habe die Version McAfee Total protection 5 devices:
Obwohl ich diese Programm gekauft habe (keine Testversion) poppt dauern McAfee getarnte Werbung auf, in dem das Programm auf irgentwelche angeblichen Probleme hinweist und bei Bearbeitung einem sofort ein zusätzliches Abos mit Erweiterung verkauft werden. Abschalten lässt sich das nicht!! Die McAfee Hotline sagt dass das Programm bewusst so konzipiert ist und keine Abschaltmöglichkeit besteht.
Extrem lästig!

Kan noen si meg hvordan jeg blir kvitt McAfee som sier jeg har virus, men det har jeg ikke, det er bare salgstriks, vil bare bli kvitt de jævlene fucking firma, som plager meg hele tiden??

Disgraceful AV operator. Not to be trusted !!!! They tried to take my annual renewal amount TWELVE days befre my auto-renewal was due up. Contacted their Customer Support (Chat Bot) who tried to connect me to a live operator to allow me to make a formal complaint, but their system 'just hung' in the ether which meant I got no-where. So I simply turned off my auto-renewal and will ignore any other mails to 'manually' accept ANY form of renewal. It's like a legalised form of scamming this organisation. To be avoided at all costs

I cancelled my subscription 2 months ago, March-April time frame. On 7/13/2026 they charged my Visa with a renewal charge. I spent 40 minutes with customer support and he could not find my account or even the charge. Finally had to go to Wells Fargo and report it as a fraudulent charge. I am very disappointed with this and would warn anyone to be careful. Apparently they do not know who or what they are charging customers.

What a terrible company, my brother in law passed away at the same time that McAfee auto renewed, we didn’t know until we has his credit card bill, demanding payment from his estate.
Contacted McAfee and explained the position, after lengthy discussions was told they would refund the credit card. I explained that the account closes once a person passes away.
They then asked me to put my credit card details on his account and they would refund me. Would take a week, this didn’t happen, rang twice more and given another ref. Number this was also a waste of time. Basically they will not refund even when taking the money when someone is dying.

Firmaet kører med automatisk fornyelse som standard - vær OBS på det. Det er samtidig praktisk talt umuligt at komme i kontakt med en fysisk person, og man kan ikke sende en mail eller besked til firmaet; nummeret til kunderservice omstiller til en robot, der i øvrigt kun taler engelsk. Så hvis der opstår spørgsmål eller tvist om fx. en betaling, kan det være vanskeligt at gøre noget ved det.

Ich hab das McAfee+ Premium und trotzdem wird für jeden Mist nochmal Geld verlangt.
man führt einen Smart Scan durch und kommt eigentlich nicht weiter als ein normaler "Viren Scan".
Danach folgt der PC-LeistugnsScan, der aber nochmal 30 EURO kostet für bspw.COOKIES zu löschen.
Danach folgt der erweiterte Problem-Scan wo Daten angeblich im Darknet gelandet sind. Will man die Verbreiterung zukünftig weiterhin wird man nochmal zur Kasse gebeten.
Also ich weiß nicht was das soll bzw. war ich doof genug zu kaufen, bevor ich hier mal paar Kommentare gelesen hab.
Für mich absolut keine Kaufempfehlung!

McAfee is a waste of money, slows down my computers and gets worse with 'pop-ups' promoting add-ons to make my software work across all aspects of internet safety.
I have used McAfee over the years (always installed on Dell machines), and I have had no issues until recently....
Since purchasing McAfee 365 a year ago from Currys, I am inundated with pop-ups promoting their products.
How can McAfee 365 not be what it says it is?
It apparently is a bare shell of basic stuff and to get anything of use out of it, you are required to add 'bolt-on' McAfee product to make it an 'all-round protection' product.
This was not the case over my initial years, but having the choice to look at the somewhat basic 'Microsoft Defender' up to products such as Norton 365, there is no contest.
Very high inflated costs for renewal now that my license is up for renewal...dream on.....
Will probably stick with Defender for the moment and then upgrade to Norton should I find the need to....
McAfee need to get their act sorted and offer protection for users without selling individual products to make up a antivirus program that is fit for purpose.

If I could give a zero I would. I have been charged $150 for the last 3 years, and I have been fighting my bank on these charges, but I have been yet to be reimbursed. Beware that any interaction with the McAfee on your device will set you up for auto renewal, and it is next to Impossible to cancel. The help center I called was in Nicaragua. No one can help. There is no corporate presence. I feel like all my information was jeopardized on my computer. They would not even cancel the service. I finally had to pay my bank to refuse payment to them in the future. It's fraudulent, sneaky, outright theft.

Ich bin äußerst zufrieden mit meinem B.... und kann es absolut nicht akzeptieren, dass ich ständig Pop-Ups von McAfee bekomme, obwohl ich das Programm deinstalliert habe. Es ist eine Frechheit und lächerlich, dass ich erst ein Tool herunterladen muss, um MCAfee endgültig loszuwerden !!! Bye, G...

I hate that the company says "renew now" or "accept the risk". What about ask me again in a couple of days? Why the scare tactics all of the time. It gets tiresome and I will explore other options, even though I enjoy the product itself. I hate places that focus on scaring you into buying the products. Sigh.
