I have been using the McDonalds app since its release. Usually it seems to work fine, giving me back some free items I have earned, however lately something has been going on, and its absolutely garbage now. I choose a code to use, then I get to the window and they can't use it because they are saying that the code was for something other than what I actually ordered, which absolutely is not what the code showed me when I chose it. I have been using this a long time, this is not an error on my part. I believe its a sneaky deceitful way of limiting the amount of free stuff I earn by buying food every morning. Also, I have had points straight up stolen from my balance when going through the drive through. This happened last week, I had about 7,300 points, order the same thing I order every single morning, and when I approached the window I was told the code I used "isn't working" and I paid full price, yet the 6,000 points were deducted from my balance. This actually is a known flaw, and happens to many others all the time. You order a frappe using a code, then you find out the freppe machine isn't working, so you can't get one yet the points are still deducted. McDonalds needs to fix these issues, they are theft of earned points and this is unacceptable. I have reached out more than once and I get the generic response, asking me to provide details from my receipt which I often don't even get with my food. They ask so many questions in hopes you can't or don't reply, then close the "case" 3 days later. This is a disgusting sneaky theft, and I spend a lot of money every week day. So now, I go somewhere else and they can take the loss of a loyal customer of over 15yrs. The amount of money I have spent that should have been for free or discounted items has added up to quite a bit now, if I did the math just recently, its probably in the ballpark of $30 or so. While this may not seem like much to some, its a lot for me, and for anyone that spends a total of about $100/wk in food for myself and my kids. McDonalds app is garbage, and it needs to be fixed, stop robbing customers!!!

Crap 💩 doesn’t work

I asked for a 6 chicken nugget meal and I got 3 nuggets.

I’ve not yet gone through a McDonalds drive through and the “one time code” works, seems a waste of time to me! McDonald’s, if you’re going to do a reward scheme do it properly! Sort it out!

“Why is it that when ever a company does a loyalty scheme the goal posts constantly change or the customer gets the run around or short changed? Funny that?”

Cannot believe that such a major company, known worldwide, has the worse app possible. Absolutely ridiculous when it comes to any issues/problems.

Their app is horrific. As soon as I open it, it closes. I ALWAYS have to open it TWICE. They constantly prevent me from ordering, showing an error message saying, You cannot add to this order as an order is already in progress. NOW HOW'S THAT EVEN POSSIBLE? They do NOT even give your earned points back to you if the lame McD's you ordered from does NOT have what you ordered and you drive away without anything. They keep that item saved as an unused reward, forcing you to ONLY BE ABLE TO GET THAT REWARD, even though the McD's you pass by NEVER HAS THAT ITEM! The app admin tells you to uninstall & reinstall. IT NEVER CHANGES A THING!

Mcdonalds app totally needs a re haul its drastically slow, you say your nearby so they can process the order go to collect sat waiting for 20mibs and had to park up and wairlt even longer

Considering McDonalds is a huge company, their app sucks - very slow to load and when it does load, oftentimes, it freezes. To order using this app, you have to open it about 5-8 minutes before you order.

This app is awful. It loads incredibly slowly, and it constantly reloads when you're in the middle of using it. The user experience is terrible. I hope that they work on bettering this app soon, because the rewards are great.

I ordered from the Mac Donald’s app a Mac crispy MEAL!!! My app crashed so I wasn’t sure when my food was coming I went outside it left on my door step and it wasn’t my full order because I ordered a meal it was just a Mac crispy order I tried calling the Mac Donald’s number through safari because the Mac Donald’s app doesn’t have access to refund of any source. I had a conversation about my situation and they were trying to gaslight me into thinking what was left on my door step is what I ordered but it felt like who I was on knew about this situation but didn’t want to take accountability. The same amount of money the Mac crispy meal including delivery was taken out of my account so I know damn well I ordered that meal and on top of that I have 9.52 pending from Mac Donalds which they are trying to take more money of my ACCOUNT. From what I can see I’m not the only one who has experienced this DONT ORDER FROM THE MAC DONALDS APP!!

It doesn’t load most of the time and I have completed reloading it, phone in and off, clear cache, and uninstalling app and reinstalling it. I use to use it to gain points, but no point ordering anymore.

Currently on my 9th delivery driver 🤦‍♂️ yes, nine! Every single one keeps cancelling after arriving at McDonald’s. The order’s been sat there so long it’ll be stone cold by now.

Customer support just keeps sending the same generic copy and paste responses, refusing to actually fix the problem or issue a refund. No logic, no accountability, and definitely no customer care.

It’s beyond frustrating, I’ve been patient, polite, and followed all the right steps, but McDonald’s seem happy to take the payment and leave the customer empty handed. Absolute joke of a system.

The rider delivered to the right house number, wrong street. I explained this and could prove they delivered to the wrong house but they still refused a refund repeatedly saying it was their policy. Fortunately I paid by credit card and will dispute the payment. They have the worst customer service

The McDonald’s app is honestly one of the better fast-food apps I’ve used. It is really easy to use, and placing orders only take like 1-2 minutes! I love the visual options of customization AND ear rewards to save that extra bit of money. The overall design is smooth and clean and the deals are always changing. Not to mention the satisfying "ba-da-ba-ba-ba" at the end when your order is processed.

Although, the app does lag sometimes when applying coupons and other deals. There us also sometimes miscommunication where a few of my orders were missing small things like sauces or napkins- but that's just human error. Compared to other fast-food apps, McDonald’s definitely does it better.

So i asked for no pickles and no sauce they put exta pickles on and extra sauce so when i contacted through app to tell them they messed my order up there trying to tell me contact uber eats a delivery service for the restaurant getting my order wrong had to get a refund through my bank dont use there app

Placed order on the app, by the time I went to pick up the app crashed, tried to drive thru, got told to come inside, charged for the same order twice, no way to get my money back, actual scam.

When order arrived there was missing items. Tried using app to report it but you don't get anywhere with this.

Missed items cancelled orders said takes up to 15 working days to credit my account and I haven’t received any money back! It’s appalling to not have been given my money back when I was promised to receive my money back! It goes through to uber who say their not responsible and you can’t contact the restaurant or mc Donald’s. Their stealing our money!!!

How is it physically possible to not be able to raise a problem with items that are missing from an order you place?

Waste of time! Never again!

The Baseline on #1 Kaska road closed 10 minutes early.. I placed my order on the app and it said pickup there, I went there and the store says it closes at 1:59AM but all the entire store was closed at 1:50 when i drove up, all the lights were out and they were outside their cars smoking. AND THEN the app wouldn't let me place another order for over 30 minutes, I drove to another location and tried to remake that same pickup order and I kept getting an error saying I already had an order placed... YEAH ONE THAT I COULDN'T PICK UP OR TRANSFER TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION. 0/10 I'M fkin done with mcdonalds. never again.
