Enlisted mfg's help regarding a probate case. They offered no sound counsel, charged extortionate amounts, submitted applications incorrectly, would require constant chasing, and would frequently switch lawyers handling our case. This was incredibly distressing especially considering my recent bereavement. In one example, the lawyer on our case wasn't replying for weeks and we had to find a random contact email address on their website just for them to inform us that this lawyer had left the company and they didn't see fit to update us. There was clearly no handover with the new solicitor on our case because we had to re-explain the entire situation and much of the documentation submitted to the previous lawyer was clearly not shared or stored in a secure central repository so we had to re-send a lot of documentation and re-forward emails.

I would honestly avoid this law firm at all costs. It'll save your pockets and your sanity!

Instructed a Partner of mfg to support with progressing divorce proceedings over a year ago now. No further forward but very much out of pocket! I question expertise & knowledge here. Personally found them expensive & ineffective! Waste of time (& money!)!!

I would like to go on record in thanking Mr S.P. of MFG (Kidderminster)for providing me with sound advice during a difficult civil claim case recently.

My partner and I have been trying to get an adjustment to our deeds for around 2 years now, and to no avail. Since MFG handled our house purchase and would therefore have all the documents they required to expedite our request quickly. I originally went in to the office in Kidderminster which is very close to where I live and asked for the help. After a time they said the Kidderminster office was too busy to help and referred us to the Birmingham office and a Mary McAneny. After a considerable time with her getting nothing got done, we were passed on to a Jonathan Skilbeck on 11th Dec 2025. As I write this, we continue to wait, and wait, and wait for someone to help us.

In light of this, if you are local to the Kidderminster Office, or indeed the Birmingham Office, I would strongly suggest that your business will be of considerably more interest to another Solicitor.

My buyer instructed MFG for his house purchase. Solicitors you would assume have knowledge of building sign offs for properties with a 10 year new homes warranty, clearly this was not part of their training which caused significant stress and additional work for me and im sure the buyer. Equally being advised about an agreement for date of exchange and only sending the contract the night before and deposit on the day in full awareness my buyer works away for periods and cannot always access his phone. I would advise anybody to avoid using this company as they certainly exacerbate stress levels during what is already a very stressful period.

My father recently passed away, there was an ongoing section 42 abuse enquiry about the quality of care he was receiving when he died.

MFG as the solicitors who my dad appointed as his Estate legal representation. They where made aware at the time of his about the on going case.

Everything they do is done so slowly.

The local council messed up the section 42 enquiry to point of losing all evidence and incorrectly closing the case down. and also incorrectly told the police they had no concerns. This they later greed was wrong and agreed to rectify with the police. However after a separate but connected case was completed by the police, the police told me they had no record of any information from the local council. when I request this information from the local council when, who and what the told the police they said I would need a letter of permission from the estate executor or legal personal representative.
When I ask MFG for this permissions letter they refused. saying
“The decision was made to avoid the risk of the estate becoming more embroiled in the issue leading to additional costs and potential delay to the estate. In addition there is no financial benefit to the estate in becoming so involved. I understand that you have been advised that the Executors duty is to protect the Estate.”

Or more simply to get paid as fast as they can.

As an police investigation is unlikely to stop distribution of the estate. They are putting there payday for the justice system.

I was even told by them I had dodgy legal advice, saying they are not the people to give me a permission letter as it is not within the remit. Despite who is reasonable for issuing the permissions letter been on NHS England, central and local government legal websites, continue this line even after I provided the evidence proving it.

They also implied it would not be in the best interest of my father or his wishes to disclose this information.

I contacted MFG regarding a dispute with my Management company regarding service charge. From day 1 I felt like I was in good hands! Rachel and Reuben, I can’t thank them enough for helping me with preparing a defence and making numerous phone calls on my behalf, advising me of wording of emails etc. I would not have been able to do this by myself. Very professional, costs were very reasonable and explained in full from the outset. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for legal advice.

We used mfg Solicitors at Ludlow to sell our house in Shropshire and buy a property in Durham. Throughout the process Liz Hulland and her staff were excellent. Correspondence, whether by post or email, was clear and timely, they were at the end of the phone whenever we needed them and we could pop into the office in person if necessary. Thoroughly excellent service throughout.

I have used MFG twice in the past three years. On both occasions I have received a highly professional and competent service from Danielle. I would have no hesitation in recommending them for conveyancing.

This company charged me £4,800 to help me resolve my mom's estate due to Executor declining this responsibility. Alm they did was charge me for every little thing even charging me for preparing phone calls and emails which was not necessary as l am no further forward than when l started. I will take this matter up with the Law Society as l feel they went round in circles and l still have not been able to resolve mom's estate. This is the reason l contacted them. To cover themselves they used the word contentious as if l am stupid. They should ne struck off for how they manage certain issues, as they are all about the money and not about supporting anyone. If the was the chance to put no stars that's what l would have given them, as 1 star is too much.

MFG are completely unprofessional. Ineffective communication, extortionate fees - failure to respond even to complaints.
Avoid at all costs

Sharon Lerry and her team dealt with my house sale from start to finish. I could not have wished for a smoother sale. I was informed at all stages and can not recommend Sharon and her team enough. Even my Estate Agent commented on how efficient the whole process was.

Avoid using this company. Absolutely awful communication, don’t get the answer’s you need consistently going round in circles, always asking for more money in the process been trying to buy the rest of our house for 8 months now! Save yourself from the stress and anger and use another company do your research before proceeding ! ! !

Extremely poor service and full of errors.
Does not have a physical fax machine in their designated office which prevented my bank to fax the offer.
Writing letters is all they do, not putting their hand on the phone to actually solve problems.
I explicitly asked to call the bank and update their fax details, what the solicitor did was to write a letter, when the bank asked to be called.
If you want your problem to be solved in extended time you should choose them.
I wish I knew this before assigning them as my solicitors for the mortgage. They like delaying instead of solving problems.
If you do have the time on your hands and you're willing to wait for as long as it takes, by all means use them.
If you want someone that is on and willing to solve your problem in the shortest time, not them.

It's disheartening even after providing feedback directly to MFG, they haven't been able to address the issues I encountered with their consistently poor service and errors, I am sharing my experience regarding MFG, as It's valuable for others who may be considering using their services to be aware.

I came across this company online. I spoke to a secretary and left a brief detailing my situation. I was promised a call back fro the commercial litigation dept , however almost one week on I've not heard back. Very disappointed.

When I was buying my first house earlier this year I was anticipating a few challenges, but the whole process went without a hitch - in no small part because of the professionalism of MFG. Having not done anything like it before, I obviously had a lot of doubts and questions but Claire patiently answered all my questions and was thoroughly reassuring. She was exactly what I needed. She planned ahead and got everything done on time (in fact, in advance), and I didn’t have any problems getting through when I needed to speak to her about something. I paid a bit more than other firms were going to charge, but it was a great decision to switch to MFG after initially trying another company. MFG also provided me with a very accurate quote up front, as requested, so there were no nasty surprises later on. My understanding is that they are an honest and professional company - and that’s critical for this type of service. Use MFG and save yourself a lot of stress.

We used MFG for the sale of our family Pub, and the service we received from Rhiannon was excellent from beginning to end. She drove the process and fought hard to get the sale completed when others involved were dragging their heels. I would have absolutely no hesitation to recommend MFG

3 months on and we still haven’t completed our house move, however they have increased the bill by £500 plus VaT for supposedly doing more work. We have missed two completion deadlines and there are only two parties in the chain! Still can’t see what extra work they have done as we’ve had to do the chasing with other solicitors to get things progressing.
