I have purchased three Molekule Air…

I have purchased three Molekule Air purifiers. All have had ongoing connectivity problems. Plus, during the past year, I keep receiving error messages that my filters need to be replaced much sooner that they should have to be replaced. The chatbots are not helpful, nor do the offshore service center personnel ever fix the problems.

Molekule app stopped connecting to my unit without any reason. I tried numerous times to reconnect app to no avail. Tech support was useless, only telling me they don’t know why and don’t have a solution. I can’t control any scheduling or monitor my filters. This is a very unreliable company. I have other purifiers that stand behind their products. Avoid this one at all costs

Don't waste your money on this overpriced paper-weight

I bought a Molekule Home One unit in 2018. The first unit was defective, they sent a new one in 2019. That unit is now kaput and support advises since the warranty expired in 2021, they are offering me a new one for only $199,

I asked her "why would I buy another unit that only lasts for 7 years?" Its an overpriced, defective piece of equipment. So I would never buy one again, and don't recommend anyone else does either.

Forced Subsciptions - Overpriced Filters

Friendly Reminder: I own the units I’ve purchased. I should not be forced into paying $175 for each Air Pro filter every ) months and $100 for the mini’s. The fact that my products are now “bricked” is repulsive. If a class action lawsuit against Molekule is initiated, please know I will participate to the highest extent possible.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Everything is great until you need help and then there's no assistance. I've had my units for 5 years and was ready to upgrade but with the lack of customer support when fedex loses my $100 filter, nope.

Molekule Mini: A $400 Brick That Locks You Into Corporate Extortion – Avoid at All Costs

I bought the Molekule Mini thinking it was the pinnacle of modern air purification – sleek design, "revolutionary" PECO technology, FDA-cleared claims that sounded too good to be true. Spoiler: It was. This thing is a glorified fan with delusions of grandeur, and Molekule's latest app update has turned it into a full-blown hostage situation.
Let's start with the basics: Performance? Laughable. Independent tests from Consumer Reports and Wirecutter have repeatedly shown it underperforms basic HEPA filters in particle removal, while guzzling energy like a gas-guzzling SUV and blasting noise levels that could wake the dead. It takes forever to cycle air in even a small room, leaving you with the same dusty, allergen-filled nightmare you started with. And the "destroy pollutants" PECO filter? More marketing smoke and mirrors than actual science – it barely edges out a $50 Walmart special in real-world use.
But the real gut-punch came with their app "update." Out of nowhere, Molekule decided to brick the device unless you're shelling out for their overpriced proprietary filters. Avoid this company

Poorly reviewed air purifiers. Additionally, they no longer allow you to use the air purifier you bought with your hard earned money unless you use their own purifier filter. Avoid this company and do not give them any money.

I wished there was an option to rate 0

I wished there was an option to rate zero stars. The super expensive purifier barely worked and the. Started making weird noises. Then their marketing team sent me a scary email saying that they will revoke access to the app unless I bought filters from there. While they already have a 1.7 stars, this should be driven as close to 1, which is the lowest rating here. They clearly don’t care

Customer Service is Awful

Unfortunately, I tried to work with this company for over a year with no success. I bought a very expensive air purifier and they stopped supporting the software on the air purifier. They will not provide support or replace it. Their customer service is awful. There is nothing else wrong with the product. They just refuse to ensure the software stays updated. Scam company.

Can't get customer service to respond

Can't get customer service to respond. There is no way to actually talk to a real person to troubleshoot a filter that won't even turn on. Very disappointed with the lack of customer service. I have 6 of their filters and will not be purchasing any more.
I've been a customer for over 5 years and in the beginning, they had a phone line where you could call and talk through issues with customer service. No longer. And they don't respond to emails either.

Molekule Took Care of Me . . .

The other reviews are "spot on!" Molekule makes a product that does not last. However, I had a better result than others when dealing with the company: This is my second Molekule purifier to go "belly up" within four years. My first purifier was replaced under warranty. Unfortunately, this purifier was out of warranty. I contacted customer support. The patient representative did everything to help me to reset the purifier, but it was to no avail. The representative asked for pictures and for my sales receipt. Molekule graciously offered to replace the out-of-warranty purifier. (Within 24 hours, I received confirmation that Molekule will be shipping a replacement unit to me.)

I was delighted to be able to purchase my second Molekule air purifier on Amazon, but was disappointed to find that I could not purchase an extended warranty. I have suggested to the company that they offer an extended warranty for purchase to protect both them and the customer. I have also suggested that they change to a manufacturer that makes better components in the construction of their products.

I recommend Molekule to my friends and clients because their products do the job, especially on mold. Unfortunately, their purifiers do not stand the test of time, BUT MY EXPERIENCE IS THAT THE COMPANY WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU!

TERRIBLE customer service

TERRIBLE customer service. My air mini was purchased 3 years ago and just died out of no where. When I reached out to customer service about possibly replacing or repairing it they told me I no longer had warranty so I would just have to buy a new one. “I’m sorry there’s nothing I can do for you” joel, a “supervisor” said to me. These devices run minimum $400, how do they not have some type of repair option? Or even a team that can assist and analyze a problem within the device? No he simply said it’s not something that they offer and I would “simply” just have to buy another one. Absolutely terrible service & company. Never buying from them again.

Incredibly unreliable, and not worth the expense

I became a Molekule customer in 2019; despite the negative assessments from various consumer research publications, I thought the CEO's rebuttals were reasonable and, of course, the aesthetic value was unmatched. Now, five years later, not only did my first Molekule, an Air, fail multiple times, and require replacement, but my Air Pro also incurred a fatal error—but, I was informed, was out of warranty. (I only purchased it three years ago.) I was offered a 20% discount on a refurbished Molekule. Instead, I bought a Dyson, and I'll never be buying another Molekule again. I encourage anyone else considering a purifier to stay away, too.

A BUNCH OF HYPE

First it took a month to receive the unit. After the first replacement filter, the unit stopped working. The unit was only a few months old. Molekule simply sent another filter and when the unit still did not operate finally agreed to take the unit back. I had to purchase a box to return the unit. It was my understanding I was getting a new unit. What I received what a refurbished unit. I paid just about a thousand dollars for this unit and received a refurbished unit rather than a new replacement. If I had purchased an appliance anywhere else and returned said appliance, I would get a new replacement. Molekule only sends you an old unit with problems that they allegedly corrected. Seems to me it will only be a matter of time before a refurbished unit fails. Secondly, the new unit did not filter air any better than any other air filtration system on the market. Other brands sell at greatly reduced prices from the pricey thousand dollar units of Molekule. The company answers emails, but all they ever say is sorry, but this is the deal, take your refurbished unit as a new replacement is not our policy. BUYER BEWARE, DO NOT BUY A MOLEKULE, YOU ARE WASTING YOUR MONEY!

Do not buy if you are in the UK as there are no replacement filters

The HUGE problem with Molekule is they only serve US customers. If you have moved to Europe from the US and have a Molekule they refuse to honour the subscription service for replacement filters. So your only choice is to buy super expensive filters from third party sellers on Amazon. It isn't difficult to ship to Europe from the US, but they refuse to do so, thus ending a lot of original loyal customers.

At the height of their popularity both the air purifiers and filters were available to buy on their UK website, however recently they have since removed all their products. Instead there is a link on their website that directs you to buy from Amazon sellers where there is no authentication whether they are official sellers of Molekule, are selling genuine products, and no regulation on prices. Basically they are selling them for nearly double the price of a replacement filter bought in the US. £150+ every 6 months for a Peco filter is a ridiculous cost, not including the other carbon filter cost which needs replacing every 3 months. For this price I could actually buy 2 Levoit air purifiers every year, which I may as well do so and get rid of the Molekule. It is very telling they are no longer selling their products to the UK market because there are clearly much better and more cost efficient air purifiers out there.
