Slowest shipping EVER and they take FOREVER to refund you.
There is no reason to buy anything from Moosejaw. Dealing with REI is so much easier and pain free. Moosejaw takes way too long to ship, their customer service is horrendous, and they take forever to refund you. The chat option for customer service is always glitchy. Calling them directly is only slightly better, but then you’re likely to get (as I did) some person that’d feels the need to lecture you about your return. It’s just not worth the hassle.
Buy from REI or directly from the manufacturer instead.

Moosejaw, I will forever hold you close to my heart for having this Bellroy Apex backpack in Raven that has been sold out for weeks and weeks on Bellroy and other online retailers. You only had one left!
Not only did you have the item in stock, you provided a discount for first responders which won me over as a fan of Moosejaw for life. Your team shipped out the item quickly and efficiently. Thank you for such great experience. These experiences are hard to come by via online retail and you shined like a diamond!
No price match
I purchased a jacket at 20% off. Less than two weeks later I found it at 30% off at Nordstrom on Thanksgiving day so of course they were not available to chat with. Took a screen shot of item in cart. Called first thing next morning. Did not qualify because same color is now sold out. No price match so I am sending the jacket back and repurchasing in a different color. I will not use Moosejaw again. Apparently they are owned by Walmart. I also hate Walmart. They also use fedex. Fedex just sucks at what they do. No, I do not recommend this company. I will shop at scheels where returns are easy and shipping is not fedex.
NOT Trust Moosejaw because of messing my order up.
I bought Smartwool Merino Hoodie blue long sleeve online on November 12. I received the email and it was shipped and expect to deliver on 17th. I was so excited to receive it. On 17th, I got email saying it was delivered. I did not see the order here at my home. I contacted through Live Chat and I learned that it was delivered to Michagan, their store! Not my home. The person from Live Chat said it will be fixed and will be delivered to me asap. Next day I waited and checked at the tracking and it was not updated. I decided to call the customer service on 19th. I was shocked that the staff at Michigan store opened my order and put it on the shelf. The local customer bought it! I did not understand why they did not bother to contact me and they assumed it was returned. I never ask for the return. I asked if there is more left and unfortunately Smartwool blue merino hoodies are sold out. I demanded for a full refund. Now I am afraid to have a trust again to this company and I don't know if I want to order again in the future.
No Common sense, bad cust service
Ordered Mammut smart 2.0 and realized no longer needed it. Called and spoke to employee and explained that their shipping package was still sealed, he said I could return it in spite of "no return policy on weight bearing items." I returned it in their shipping package and rec'd email that they would not honor the return because of their policy. They then returned it to me . Only wish I could post pics that show the device still sealed in original manufacturers package. APPARENTLY NOT A LICK OF COMMON SENSE AMONG DECISION MAKERS OR MANAGEMENT. They chose $44 over customer satisfaction. Never do business with again and will be sure to discourage anyone else that I can not to order from Moosejaw.

Extremely slow shipping
Extremely slow shipping. Got here way past estimated date and sat in a warehouse for 3 days over a weekend. Would have been here in 1/3 the time through any other retailer.

I love Moosejaw! Their web site is super easy to use, they have a ton of great product selection, and returns are so easy. I always have a great online experience with them. I would say even better than Amazon. Moosejaw does it right from a digital and e-commerce perspective. Good job Moosejaw team.
$500 watch never delivered or stolen and Moosejaw offered no resolution.
$500 watch was shipped without a signature required and either not delivered or was stolen while I was out of town due to a family emergency…Moosejaw took no responsibility and offered no resolution other than to tell me I could file a police report and dispute the charges… I asked if they could provide a serial number for the police report while speaking with a associate and requested this information via email… I never received a response via telephone nor email.
Without a serial number a police report is pointless.
I likely will lose the dispute as fedex shows the package was delivered.
So I’m likely out of $500 because this company thought it was reasonable to leave a $500 package sitting on someone’s porch with no one home.
Again they offered no resolution and after stating that fedex showed delivery they never responded to any further emails sent requesting a serial number or other information…specifically Scout Gigsby the person who emailed me stating that they would offer no resolution. I usually purchase from REI and only chose Moosejaw because they have a rewards program and had the color of the watch I wanted in stock. I am a avid outdoorsman, backpacker, cyclist, kayaker, trail runner,climber etc etc…. I’ve never been treated so poorly by a company in this industry and will certainly never purchase anything from them again… I do a lot of competition running and am a freelance photographer and videographer in the outdoor industry… I will let everyone I know and meet about the type of service I received or should I say didn’t receive from this company.
Poor company and customer service!
I placed an order for a $400 bike rack Aug 14 for a trip. The bike rack did not arrive in time so I changed the location to a Fed Ex store and the next day called to cancel the order and they routed it back to MJ.
They have not received it and say it is a high priced item so they cant refund me until they receive it. I never received the product so this is disappointing. Why should I be on the hook financially for something I did not receive. One rep said they would get it back last week. Now Fed Ex says maybe Sept 3 then I have to wait to be refunded.
Everytime I call I get a different answer. I do not get any email updates providing me confidence in their abilities or process. I had to borrow a bike rack for my trip and still dont have my $ back. Stay Away from this hot mess of moose.
Refused to refund lost package
The package was lost in the mail and customer service treated me like I stole the package. Then they refused to refund me since I did not realize the package was missing for 3 weeks (Due to me being out of town) They then LIED saying Fedex would not let them place a claim on a lost package since it had been 3 weeks... Fedex public policy is 9 months. They also would not provide any proof of delivery. This was from management. Would never work with this company again...

They cannot manage to care about customers and add you to SPAM lists regardless of your efforts to avoid them.
They are using the old "a reward is part of the transaction" lie/ploy.
By implying that this 2nd transaction (a reward) is part of your purchase transaction they add you to lists to SPAM you and will not remove you.
This ploy/lie was old 5 years ago. By you doing them a service and using their site to purchase an item, they feel you need to be abused for your choice. So, they send email claiming you have 'reward' and imply it is (incorrectly) part of the purchase transaction. So, this false perception (on their part) is abused to ignore your choice not to sign up for their SPAM directly and coax you by way of their lie into accepting the abuse.

We purchased the Leki walking sticks and the customer service was excellent. Super nice and friendly and pleasant!
And coming in on this holiday needing some additional help, John, the general manager, helped us and went out of his way to get the info needed!
Would go there again for sure! It’s a fun store with lots of wonderful products, even if you’re not totally into skiing and biking!

Good value and positive experience/outcome
Based on poor reviews and ratings, I was very hesitant in ordering from Moosejaw. I decided to take a chance, since they are owned by a major (WM) retailer and relative positive employee scores. I purchased a pair of sandals at a discount, much cheaper than other online/B&M stores. I knew size, comfort and quality b4 ordering. Many negative comments related to delivery - I can see why as when I ordered, there were 3 conflicting delivery dates. Result: They arrived earlier than any of the dates stated and was the exact pair I ordered. No need to engage with Customer Service.

Liars about delivery dates
I ordered an item that cost $400 and I had 2 shipping choices, 1 next day for $19.95 (should have been included for items costing $400), and 2nd was delivery 4 days later for free.
I chose free, but then item wasn't even shipped until the 4th day.

Best place ever! Prompt delivery. Delivered to hotel room. Gave utensils, plates, seasonings and extras for free. No mistakes. The pizza crust was amazing!
