I recently ordered a product and was sent the incorrect size. This company is well known to have fast and easy shipping/returns and prides themselves on excellent customer service so, initially, i was not to concerned. However, I have been amazed and extremely disappointed in the company’s poor customer service and inability to resolve my issue. I have had more conversation than I can count with the customer service department through phone, live chat and e-mail. They have yet to be able to offer me a return label or a way to cover the cost of the return shipping despite my multiple conversations and attempts to work with them. The company offers great products, an impressive inventory, Competitive prices, and some pretty comical tag lines but apparently, if something goes wrong you’re screwed.
Snail speed shipping
Placed an order on Nov 30. By Dec 15 I still had nothing so I contacted their customer support. In talking with that person I discovered they have no products in stock. After you place an order they then order your items from the company you want an item from and when those items finally arrive they repackage them in Moosejaw packaging and send them to you. That is why it takes 2-3 weeks to receive your order. The "2 Day Shipping" promise is a scam. They ship two days after your order arrives to them which takes weeks. I will not ever shop with them again.

Maybe it’s under new management because my experience this week is awesome. I found what I needed; placed my order, and in 2 days received my delivery in tact. Packaging was in tact. Boots are what I ordered. I received no less than 3 emails regarding my purchase, very smooth transaction.

Bought my snowboard and bindings from them. Shipping was on time and had no issues.
BEWARE "free 2 day shipping" claim
BEWARE "free 2 day shipping" claim. They use fedex ground which is awful. I live in rural area and they always suck. No problems with UPS or even USPS. My package has been on the truck "out for delivery" for three days. Moosejaw chat was a waste of time. the girl agreed the UPS is better. They could learn from REI customer service which has always been impeccable.
Placed an 350$ order
Placed an 350$ order. On the day of delivery I was home all day. They use Fedex as a carrier. I know from experience that fedex leaves packages by the front door without even knocking on the door or ringing the bell. Many time I saw fedex truck pull up in front of my house, the guy just puts the package down and leaves and not bothering knocking on the door or ringing the bell. Meanwhile I am home and could get my package before someone steals it. I am sure this time same thing happened. They did investigation and told me that because it looks like theft they are not going to refund me. End of story. Last time I use this website. I have always been using bckcountry.com and they refund you no matter what.
At least provide a functional shopping experience
The web site is a piece of junk. I couldn't put anything in the shopping cart or sign in. so frustrating. never shopping here again
Worst customer service and satisfaction
So I ordered a coat from Moosejaw that FedEx left on my front door and it was stolen. Moosejaw told me they dont cover stolen packages so they couldn't issue me a refund or another jacket.This was my first time and only time ordering from them. They have the worst customer service and I am extremely dissatisfied with this company. Don't buy from them, there customers aren't their priority.
Would not allow an exchange of new/unused crampons
I ordered the wrong style of crampons, but they wouldn't accept an exchange because of their policy on climbing equipment.
No other major retailer has this policy - backcountry.com, rei.com, blackdiamondequipment.com all allow exchanges of new / unused crampons.
Why all the complaining?
I don't know why there are so many terrible reviews for Moosejaw. It is a great company. They have a super generous return policy, the price match, plus they seem to always have sales. The one time I had a problem because I received the wrong item their customer service was great and quick in getting me the right item. You really can't beat Moosejaw's prices so why all the complaining?

THE DUMBEST RETURN POLICY...... I tried canceling my order within 30 minutes of placing it on a Saturday night. I received an email Sunday morning saying that it is already processed and shipping. Now I have to wait to receive it, then return it to get a refund. Why in this day and age do they not have a cancel button???

I’ve had my eye on the North Face Campshire fleece hoodie for sometime now. I was hoping North Face was going to have a Black Friday sale, but then I saw Moosejaw had it and I could get 20% off. I was pumped! Then I saw all negative reviews about the company and customer experience. I decided to take the chance and I’m glad I did. Ordered it Tuesday afternoon and I got it today (Friday). Item that I arrived was exactly what I ordered. I’m very happy with my experience and will order from them again.

Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever. The two day shipping is a lie. Even worse is that they never contact you to tell you anything about your items not shipping. When, after four days, I called them, they tell me my order had been red flagged but no one ever told me why. When I asked why I wasn't notified about the delay the person seemed upset and got rude as hell with me. I didn't know at the time of my order, but a friend of mine later told me Walmart had bought Moosejaw a year or more ago. Makes sense though. Especially in how they view and treat their customers. And the other thing they have in common is I won't shop at either one again. Been done with Walmart for 20+years. And well I guess we can start the clock on Moosejaw.

Saw the many bad reviews here before placing an order, but saw another site with good reviews, and decided to take my chance since they take paypal and I could get my money back if need be.
I ordered a North Face jacket, and this was the only site I could use a coupon and spend less money. The coat arrived in two days, as promised with good email communication about the shipping.Packaging was great and item was perfect. So glad I took a chance. Would not give a second thought about ordering from them again!
