I engaged My Probate Partner (MPP) for their expertise to obtain Confirmation after becoming frustrated and stressed by the assistance I was receiving from my late father's solicitor.
Initially I thought I could complete the C1 form by myself, as I held all the information and knowledge of his financial affairs. What I hadn't understood was the legal framework, style, format and exactitude required, if it was to be approved.
Following the guidance from MPP I prepared a new draft which MPP then checked, amended and added to in order to complete the paperwork. I submitted this to the Sheriff Court for approval in the morning, expecting a response in 2-4 weeks, but was delighted to be granted approval the same afternoon.
I can't thank the MPP team enough for their help and support at this stressful time. Furthermore, I wish I had approached them sooner as it would have saved a lot of my time and stress.

After having visited my lawyer who advised that it would take over a year for confirmation to be granted and that they would not be chasing during the process I found a review on money saving expert’s website recommending my probate. I am so delighted that I used my probate as confirmation was granted in under 3 months. My probate talked me through the process and then completed the relevant paperwork for HMRC and the sheriff court. The fee which they charged was very low and saved me a huge amount of money on legal fees and a very lengthy wait. If you are someone who is prepared to do some of the work yourself such as contacting banks etc I would definitely say you should use my probate. I can't speak highly enough of the excellent service provided by Probate Partners. They have made the whole process from my first tentative enquiry to getting the Certificate of Confirmation from the Sheriff's Office this week so straightforward. After discovering there was no survivorship clause on my and my late husband's Title Deeds, I contacted myprobatepartner.co.uk. Their service was second to none. They are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Right from the start, everything was simplified. Instructions and appropriate paperwork were sent to me immediately, at each stage, and someone was always available for any questions I had. The cost was much more affordable too.
Confirmation was granted and I can now instruct a solicitor to remove my late husbands name from the Title Deeds.
The process wouldn't have been nearly as simple, without my probate partner. I wouldn't have known where to start. I highly recommend using their services.

if you live in Scotland and need to fill in the C1 confirmation form you have 3 options
1. pay a solicitor 3 to5% of estate value ( up to £11000 in our case)
2. do it yourself we submitted it FOUR times. The problem is the court won’t tell you where it’s wrong!!
3. Engage MY PROBATE PARTNER. Using their services we got Confirmation within 3 weeks at the first attempt

Lucy and the team worked very efficiently in preparing our documents for confirmation. In particular they advised on how to clarify the will, drafting court letters etc for us.

These guys have nailed this process, everything is very efficient, some automated communications and Sharon was an amazing case manager helping me through the entire process. Once I received all appropriate information with perfectly clear instructions on what to do next to prepare to submit to Sheriff Court, we submitted and received Grant of Confirmation from the Courts within 1 week. Overall the process only took 2 weeks...remarkable! I used a solicitor before with another deceased relative and it took 1 year and was three times the cost.
