Be very cautious about the used products on sale

The used Apple macpro product was imported/shipped after 10th June 2024. Test report placed inside the box dated Au 2023.Received the unit after paying taxes on16th June 2024. The unit wasn’t switching on for the very first time on receipt. NDC never acknowledged request and they started doubting my side asking so many questions and wanted a long video. I have obliged all their requests. Being genuine is also tough after paying a huge money but NDC never bothered about the customer. They never accepted my request to ship it back to them for warranty and delayed it by 3-6 months just to send the item back to them. After sending they just say the unit is working with a short video. My issue was random behavior in powering on and I have also requested a long video to ascertain the repair. They don’t again worried about the mistake they have done. After keeping the faith on NDC to buy used Apple macpro, by paying huge money they have made me to run for service for no mistake of mine. Be cautious or avoid buying used product from NDC.

Reply to NDC response dated 24 th Jan 2025:

All the statements are made here are true. NDC never asked to return the unit, in fact they refused my request to send the unit. All these were explained N number of times to NDC.
1. The unit wasn’t working on receipt from the day. I have request them to take back but didn’t allow. So I approached a local guy for a repair and he just remove RAM and placed back. Then the unit was switched ON. But i was not aware that the issue wasn’t resolved. The system switch on behavior was random and then the system was not alright.

Please do not respond to this mail was the statement made out of frustration that was caused to bear such unwanted expenditure due to negligence of NDC. Request not to be quoted here because it was only expression of disappointment caused by you.

Then due to other personal and official commitments, the system was not used till 26th September. Seriously I gave up to follow up with NDC for such irresponsible sale of product which cannot fulfill the basic switch on.

THE SYSTEM WAS INITIALLY DEAD ON ARRIVAL. NEVER SWITCHED ON IN A SINGLE PRESS. SOMETIME GETS SWITCHED ON RANDOMLY. AND IT TOOK LONG TIME TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE SYSTEM SWITCH ON RANDOMLY AT TIMES AND IT CANNOT BE DEPENDED FOR USE.

WARRANTY COVERAGE IS NEVER INVALIDATED BECAUSE THE MACPRO WAS INTACT AND I WAS FORCES TO OPEN COVER, REMOVE AND PLACE THE RAM AGAIN DUE TO YOUR FAULT AND I COULD NOT REACH YOU PHYSICALLY.
IF I HAVE BROKEN ANY SEAL OR ATTENDED ANY REPAIR THEN IT CAN BE. NDC HAD SEEN THE UNIT AND CARRIED THE REPAIR ONLY WHEN CONVINCED THAT THERE WAS NO REWORK. NDC WAS DOUBTFUL ALWAYS IN ALL MY MAIL COMMUNICATION INCLUDING MY GENUINE ATTEMPTS TO SOLVE THE ISSUE.

The unit wasn’t working not switching ON and it’s fact. The machine could have been used 3-4 time so far from my side. NDC SHOULD ALSO UNDERSTAND THE SYSTEM SWITCH ON VAGUE AND RANDOM AND I CANNOT RELY. WE CANNOT KEEP THE MACHINE POWERED ON ALWAYS JUST FOR THE SAKE OF USING IT. SYSTEM POWER ON AND OFF IS VARRY BASIC AND PRELIMINARY REQUIREMENT FOR USE OF COMPUTER.SO TECHNICALLY IT COULD NOT BE USED. I QUOTE NDC NOT TO PRESUME ANY OTHER SCENARIO OF USING YOUR UNUSABLE MACHINE AS AND WHEN REQUIRED SINCE THE RANDOM SWITCH ON PROCESS. YOU ARE NOT AFFECTED BY ANY MEANS LIKE ME AND UNFORTUNATE TO KNOW THAT NDC STILL TRYING TO PUSH ALL FAULTS ON ME. ALL SUFFERING STARTED ONLY WHEN THE UNIT WAS DEAD ON ARRIVAL. STILL I HAVE ONLY ABSORBED ALL THE TIME AND MONEY LOSSES OF SENDING IT BACK AND GETTING AGAIN. DID I COMMIT ANY MISTAKE?
ANSWER RO THOS QUESTION IS “NO”. ANSWER CAN BE YES IF NOT PURCHASED FROM NDC.

THE VIDEO GIVEN BY NDC SHOWS ONLY ONE TIME POWER ON WHICH WAS HAPPENING BEGORE SENDING THERE. I SERIOUSLY CANNOT BELIEVE THIS BECAUSE I HAVE ALREADY GONE THROUGH THIS SITUATION WHEN MY LOCAL SERVICE GUY COULD DO ONE TIME SWITCHING ON.

In case of test report I can only go with the report placed with correct serial number having old date and I cannot take your claim because the unit is not functioning. Test reports should be validated by you before despatch if it is really validated.

I have never asked you to quote any false value. The request was to mention the repair value since there was no sale involved and it’s clear fact here.

PLEASE DO UNDERSTAND THAT THE EXPERIENCE THAT NDC GAVE ME ARE PERFORMANCE FAILURE, LOSS OF TIME AND MONEY, DISPLEASURE, DISAPPOINTMENT AGAINST COST PAID TO NDC.

NDC AGREE OR NOT THE SYSTEM COULD NOT BE USED AT A NORMAL PERFORMANCE LEVEL FOR THE DESIRED PURPOSE OF PURCHASE AND STILL I AM NOT CLEAR WHETHER THE REPAIRED UNIT WILL FUNCTION IN NORMALCY OR NOT.

FINALLY IF ANY INDIVIDUAL OF NDC MAY UNDERSTAND MY PAIN IF THEY GO THROUGH MY BAD EXPERIENCES IN THIS PURCHASE.

What you are claiming is simply untrue.

Firstly, we DID accept your request to return the item for a warranty check and not a guaranteed refund unless the item could NOT be repaired.

At that stage you were not willing to ship it back and had already had the machine opened and assessed locally in Sri Lanka. We advised you that this would have invalidated your warranty with us as we couldn’t guarantee the work of outside technicians. Regardless, you said that your technician reseated the RAM and confirmed the machine was on.

You then sent us an email on the 25th June 2024 saying “please do not respond to this mail.” You said this because you were unhappy that we wouldn’t reimburse you for the work your technician performed. This work was optional. It was your choice to do it locally and you didn’t contact us about it before proceeding, therefore we are under no obligation to reimburse you for that.

We did not respond to your email, at your request. The next time we heard from you was on the 26th September, so we aren’t the ones who delayed the process by 3 months.

You claim in those 3 months that it wasn’t used, but you also state that after your local technician looked at the device, you subsequently had a “switching on technique” that he showed you, meaning that it WAS used and, presumably, must have been working during this time period. Your details are contradicting themselves.

After this, we explored alternative options, such as shipping replacement RAM to you. We offered this as a courtesy, despite the fact that the warranty was invalidated.

Regardless, we have received the machine back, assessed it, tested it for over a week and confirmed (via video footage sent to you) that the unit is fully working.

And the date of the initial test report is irrelevant: the unit will have been assessed by at least 3 technicians at various stages (diagnose/repair/test) to ensure that it works perfectly, plus a final clean and data wipe immediately prior to shipping (which would not be recorded on the same report, but would have confirmed the machine as working).

Finally, you are unhappy about the taxes you have had to pay shipping to and from Sri Lanka, but I would like to point out that you asking us to falsely declare a lower value on the parcel (as you did on 9th January 2025) is deliberate tax fraud on your part and something we, as a reputable company, are unwilling to do.

Your machine has been shipped back to you.

Good Products, overcharged postage

Good Products, OK pricing and fast delivery whats disappointing is to be charged per product for postage when 3 items were all sent in 1 package.

Firstly, we’re really pleased that you’re happy with the products, price and service!

With regards the shipping costs, we’ve had a look into your order. You selected Royal Mail Tracked 24 shipping for which you were charged £11.99 as a combined total for all 3 items. Although it might have shown a slightly lower price in the estimated costs (which, as stated, doesn’t include VAT), it definitely shows £11.99 under the shipping methods when you proceed to checkout. The overall price and what you paid looks correct to us.

One thought has occurred: on the product screen, the estimate for a SINGLE item via Royal Mail Tracked 48 is just over £4 but that is for a slower, less comprehensive service and for just 1 keyboard. Could it be that you’re mistaking these services for each other and think we’ve charged you £4 three times?

If you think it’s anything different, please let us know and we'll investigate further.

No reimbursement for return shipment cost of faulty goods

The shop send me a request to remove the review because they think it might mean to the wrong business. They did not even make the right thing and hope that review gets deleted in this way?

My review is correct and related to the business, you can check the shop in Ebay with "svx-online" and thier contacts.

--update 23.12.2024 after the shop repiled--
The shop made up the story and put the blame on the customer! I have checked that the part I orderd was correct!

The shop still put the words in my mouth that I had only the problem "the palm rest is not fit with my laptop". I have check that the part was correct with the model and have connected it to the mainboard, also attached it to the laptop.

Unfortunately, the keyboard did not work! I try to claim, but got refused manytimes. I sent them my laptop's service number, and already checked the part online and in the Dell official website.

I want to make things right and purchase from them in the future. But at this point, I will not recommend the shop further and will not buy anything from them again.

I had internationally ordered an item from this shop via Ebay. They use their shop's name as "svx-online". I tested the item and found out that its main function was not working. I reached the shop via Ebay and have successfully returned the item. They assured me that they will reimburse the shipping cost because of the defective item, but in the reality, not. They didn't keep their own word and said "We believe that you ordered the incorrect item."

Please consider my review if you would like to buy from them.

We would like to reiterate that we have never put words in your mouth and that what you said about the palmrest not fitting is a direct quote from you.

Furthermore, having checked the palmrest part number (D6NDW) against the service tag you provided, we can confirm that it doesn’t show up anywhere on the parts list, therefore there is no guarantee of compatibility and this evidence suggests that you have ordered the wrong component. Variations to the laptop configuration (for example, the inclusion of a dedicated graphics cards) can mean different parts are used. This is why the listing explicity states: “please ensure you purchase the correct part number for your requirements as some laptop models may use more than one part type/number depending on specification, there can be subtle differences that are not initially obvious.”

That said, had you reached out to us with your service tag before (not after) ordering, we would have been happy to confirm this for you.

Again, we are under no obligation to refund postage (international or otherwise) for items purchased in error.

Hi,

The very first thing you stated in your messages to us was that “the palmrest doesn't fit with my laptop” (this is a direct quote), suggesting that you had ordered (or received) the wrong item. You stated this more than once and it was the reason you listed for your return.

When we tried to determine exactly what had happened, you became evasive and changed your story, insisting that the keyboard on the palmrest was faulty. However, if you have ordered the wrong part, it will not necessarily work, but this does not mean that it is faulty, more likely that it is incompatible with your machine. But this raises a further question from us: If the palmrest didn’t physically fit, how (and even why) would you test the keyboard? What would even be the point if you can't attach the palmrest?

When your order was returned, we checked to make sure it was the part you ordered, which it was. We have sold another 9 of these without complaint, so we know for certain that the stock is correctly labelled and listed.

Regardless, we gladly accepted the return and you received a refund for the item. But, as we stated several times, we do not provide free return shipping in cases of customer error. At no point did we “assure” you that we would reimburse the shipping costs. It is only a requirement for us to reimburse you postage in the event of a faulty item, or an error on our part (which we would have happily done), but neither are true in this case.

As we firmly believe that the error was yours, not ours, and that you changed your story in order to obtain free shipping, we will not be reimbursing you for the shipping costs.

Sold as new but previously owned, no manufacturers warranty.

Below is the statement from Dell regarding the New laptop purchased from NDC that subsequently had its warranty refused.

"NDC is currently an Authorised Solution Provider (Reseller) Partner in our Dell Technologies Partner Program. This status is irrelevant to the current issue, however, since the laptop tag in question was not purchased by NDC / ServiceX from Dell, or from an authorized Dell Distributor or Reseller. According to our records, this tag was ordered by a UK commercial end customer and was not intended for resale, but has somehow found its’ way to NDC / ServiceX and then yourself. Dell obviously has no visibility of this intermediate transaction history and cannot therefore explain how a Dell Partner could have acquired this tag for resale. Only NDC/ServiceX could answer this of course.
Unfortunately, due to the irregularity with the sale transaction for this tag, it will be permanently blocked with the only option to update this being for the original purchaser to make good on its’ original purchase transaction obligations to Dell.
The current tag status also precludes the purchase of a Dell service upgrade on this specific tag."

Purchased what should have been a new laptop with 3 years manufacturers warranty. Registered it to my Dell account with Dell to find the warranty had already started a month earlier than when purchased. Dell then cancelled any warranty. Now Dell won't touch it now for the reasons stated above.

In response to NDC comments:

Para 1. Yes the Service TAG was accepted to my account initially but later withdrawn when Dell obviously became aware of the anomaly. Namely that the machine should not have been offered for resale.

The fact NDC is registered under the Dell Partner Direct program is irrelevant according to the Dell statement.

The fact that NDC claim its a mystery why the warranty was withdrawn. The machine was purchased in good faith and if there is an issue it is incumbent on you to sort it out. NDC were made aware of Dells comments and have ignored them. The fact NDC have done nothing to rectify the situation speaks volumes and suggests Dells statement on the origin of the device is true.

Para 2. Although NDC have offered a 3-year return-to-base warranty a return-to-base warranty it does not come close to Dell ProSupport warranty that includes: 24x7 priority access to in-region ProSupport engineers, Next business day onsite repairs, Proactive monitoring, including predictive hardware alerts, +PLUS Self-healing automated remediation scripts, Service Account Manager, Accidental damage coverage & Keep Your Hard Drive Service.

It was sold as having 3 Year Dell ProSupport the offer of a return to base warranty does not come close to the advertised warranty. Additionally the devices warranty had already started, presumably by its Orginal owners.

When I requested a full refund claiming it was miss sold the reply I received was: "Furthermore as you have used the laptop now for a year or so, we are entitled charge for the cost of fair use should we offer a refund, which will take in to account the current market value of the laptop and the condition it is returned in". "Unfortunately we are unable to offer you a full refund that you have requested in your letter". I requested a estimate but never received a reply. Besides why should I loose financially if you should have never offered the device for sale in the first place, it was previously owned and does not have a manufactures warranty.

Para 3. NDC have never clarified the origin of the device when presented with the details of Dells statement.

NDC have never directly offered to take the laptop back and suggested if you did it would be at a discounted value at your discretion, see above.

The fact I have not required a repair is irrelevant and I am still denied Dell 24x7 support services.

If Dells comments are incorrect then you should sort it out as the seller with Dell. If they are true then the laptop should never have been offered for sale. It was also miss sold as it was previously owned and does not have a manufactures warranty.

I have provided NDC with all the information so sort it out and get my warranty reinstated.

Hi Nick,

We’re sorry you feel this way about our service. When you began corresponding with us a year ago you said that Dell initially accepted your warranty registration without issue. This suggests that everything was fine from their side. It’s a mystery to us why that would subsequently change a few months later. The laptop WAS new when it was sold to you, and we’ve been dealing with Dell for many years, registered under the Dell PartnerDirect program, so there should have been no problems.

As previously stated, we will happily honour a 3-year return-to-base warranty, even if Dell won’t. I appreciate that’s not exactly the same as the Dell Pro Support warranty you were hoping for, which is why we also offered for you to return the laptop to us, if that’s what you preferred to do.

So we’re not being evasive – quite the opposite! We said we’d accept the laptop back if you weren’t happy with the level of support we’re able to offer, but you haven’t needed a repair or returned the laptop, and the last email we received was eight months ago, back in January.

I hope that clarifies things from our perspective.
